Paper is the most important invention in the human history. it has a huge impact on the human everyday life, going paperless is consider a long way to go before losing human dependence on this very important product. People may not notice that paper has a role to play in human every day life. From the newspaper to paper packaging, paper is everywhere, but what paper is made up of is still a little bit blur for most people. Everyone knows that paper come from trees but what is paper all made up of and how to get from trees to papers is still a question for most people, and it certainly isn’t a stripped down pine. The production of paper and what is paper made up of is actually more complicates than it sounds. But in the simplest term, paper consists of pulp, filler, water and chemicals. Each particular paper types have their own unique ingredients that combined accordingly to the recipe for that type of paper, and each type of papers have their own characteristics such as opacity, ink setting properties, surface structure and so on; all of which make for better used in printing. Pulp is the number one ingredient in papermaking, and wood is by far the most commonly used raw material. According to this source, “the most
(Alex Pasternack, The Environment Costs of Our Cell Phones, September 3, 2009) The cellphones waste carry several dangerous materials that can end up in the rivers and soil over time from the landfill, because of the toxic imprint such as lead, nickel, and beryllium that contained inside the circuit boards. As well as brominated flame retardants that contained inside the plastics from cellphones. These chemicals are very dangerous which can harm the environment and the human. It can lead to cancer, damage to the nervous systems and the brain development in children. (Alex Pasternack, The Environment Costs of Our Cell Phones, September 3,
The papermaking process begins with pulp. Pulp is cellulosic fibrous material extracted from cellulosic fiber from wood. Glatfelter uses the Kraft Process to make both hardwood and softwood pulps. Hardwood pulps are taken from oaks, beeches, poplars, birches and eucalyptus tress. They have short fibre of average length of 1 millimeter. The primary purpose of hardwoods is for the paper to achieve bulkiness, smoothness and opacity. Softwood on the other hand is taken from pine and spruce with long fibre averaging 3 millimeters, it provides addition strength to paper. Both softwood and hardwood are produce independently of each other and are mixed end at desire ratio in the paper plant. The process starts from wood chips. Trees are chipped to make wood chips from half an inch to an inch long and up to two fifth inches thick. The chips are feed into a digester, which with cooking liquor would create a chemical reaction, which delignificate the wood. The cooking liquor is composed of white and black liquor. White liquor is composed of mainly sodium hy...
At an age when my friends’ floors were strewn with toys, dirty clothes, or video-game cartridges, mine was smothered in paper of all sorts — books, magazines, reams of white and college-ruled, paper bags, paper airplanes. This pattern has survived, and it is representative of the way I live. The house of my life is built on a foundation of paper.
First off, it should be stated that there are many different designs of paper airplanes and that different designs could affect the physics applied to it. If one paper airplane used a second set of wings or had a tail like a real airplane, those items would have more physics applied to them like extra drag.
Moderata Fonte’s Venetian ladies debated the worth of women while cavorting in their fictional garden in 1605; Tempel Anneke met her unhappy fate in the 1660s. The seemingly enlightened and forward-looking feminist attitudes articulated in Fonte's text were absent from the Brunswick courtroom where the allegations against Tempel Anneke eventually brought about her death. The two accounts illustrate the differences in the attitudes towards women between European states during the 17th century. The differences are technically religiously based, however, they deal with the differences of the specific regional factors of the areas discussed. The differences explain why the attitudes of Fonte’s ladies and the persecutors of Tempel coexisted in roughly the same era. Fonte's ladies are Italian Catholics, and Anna's neighbors are German Protestants, therefore, the ideals of women are varied based on religious experience. Additionally, the theory of reason of state that came about with the consolidation of authority consisted of centralization and secularism that subordinated the social role ...
Newsprint used to be International Paper’s main product, but it is no longer produced by that company since it was so unprofitable (‘A Short History of”, 1998). Very few companies manufacture newsprint anymore due to the fact that most people get their news via radio, television, and various other internet sources. Emails and social media posts have all but replaced Christmas, birthday, and get-well cards. Magazines are read online, Christmas catalogs have been replaced by online sales, and the vast majority of our junk mail has been transformed into spam in our email boxes. Corrugated and cardboard boxes have been replaced by plastic “clamshells”. Even our government has gotten into the act of reducing paper by forcing the use of electronic health records in the 2010 Affordable Care Act (“Key Features of the”, 2015). Because paper products are used in so many different applications, there is virtually no end to the substitute products which are

Are cell phones a harmful distraction to society? With advances in technology today, the demand for better cell phones is skyrocketing. With new technological advancements happening everyday with cell phones, people are starting to depend on a cell phone for everyday tasks. Cell phones allow the user to contact friends or family with the touch of a button and allows them to play games in times of boredom. As a result of everyday use, cell phones have affected relationships, the brain, and health.
The invention of the printing press was one of the most useful technologies in history because it helped spread ideas, produced books, and greatly improved the economy. Johannes Gutenberg, who was a German goldsmith, developed the printing press “in Mainz, Germany between 1446 and 1450” (Ditttmar, 1133). The printing press was made to print books, newspapers, and flyers. The machine was made from wood and was based off screw presses, that worked with inked movable type heads that allowed the paper to be quickly and efficiently pressed with letters. The type head was made by pouring lead-tin alloy into a hand mold, along a rectangular stalk.
"How dangerous could a cell phone actually be?" That is one of the many questions a person will ask themselves throughout their lifetime. Cell phones cause many distractions to humans throughout the day. Many cell phone owners find themselves checking their phones for messages and notifications even when the phone did not vibrate or ring. The overuse of cell phones will have negative effects on the mental and physical health of its users, will cause driving distractions, and will have a negative impact on the communication skills of humans.
Toilet Paper is one of the most important resources today. But it isn’t something you just wood you cut from a tree, and you magically have toilet paper, well kinda. Toilet paper is made from more than just paper, and has
(2017), an aquatic plant that is used as a raw material by the Egyptians to make paper, and the first paper invented by the Egyptians in Ancient Egypt is on the approximate date of 3000 BC. As the “Father of Papers”, CaiLun who is known to be the one who invent the first ever paper, is not the first one to invent it, because of the Egyptians who is the one who invented it first, but reading the it makes the inventors similar, because of the raw materials used in making the paper. In making those papers, they have a main ingredient of mulberry bark and hemp rags. They use it and mixed it together then using a little amount of water, it will mashed flat and letting it dry out under the sun. After this, Tsai Lun paper is a big success of the industry in China until it began to use by all the people in it.
Brain tumors and eye cancer are two health concerns of cell phones that are currently under investigation. Many people have heard rumors about whether or not cell phones are responsible for these health problems, but answers never seem to be found.
Paper in 20th-century civilization, is one of our most important industrial products. Books, magazines, and newspapers are printed on paper. Data from computers are usually printed on paper. Education, government and industry could not operate without printing and writing on paper. Paperboard (used in packaging), and absorbent papers (tissue and towelling) are other widely used paper products.
To conclude i would like to say that regulatory agencies have concluded cell phones are safe, cell phone radiation is non-ionizing and studies indicate that there are long term risks but we need more data on intense sustained usage, and cell phones can be used more safely by only using them when signal strength is strong and the transmitter doesn’t have to transmit as much energy.
Human beings are creative species. They have come up with great ideas and invented some wonderful tools since they have been on earth. From the time that someone threw a rock in the ground to make the first tool, to the introduction of the wheel, to the development of electricity and the Internet. These alterations, and many more have been made to provide us the modern life we are living today. There are many inventions that have changed the world dramatically. Historians suggest that the printing press was one of the most revolutionary inventions in the human history. The printing press was invented over five-hundred years ago and was the first step in transforming societal literacy. Around 1440, the printing press was invented by the German Johannes Gutenberg, who was the first to design a technique that has the ability to transform the ink from the movable type to paper. Basic development of the printing press was, the hand mold which is the process that enabled the production of metal movable types. Printing presses with this movable type mechanism increased the rates at which copies of books
