Oscar Claude Monet was a French Impressionist painter. He was famous for painting Water Lilies, Women in Garden, and Impression Sunrise. I choose this painter because he was an interesting painter, he had dream of being a painter since an early age. Claude Monet was born in Paris France on November 14, 1840. At the age of five he moved with his family, he was the second son of Claude - Adolphe and Louise - Justine Aubree Monet and his brother Leon Pascal Monet, to Le Havre in Normandy where he spent his youth. Claude was considered by both his parents and his teachers as undisciplined, and therefore was unlikely to be successful in life. He was inspired by painting from being in contact with artists working in the area and exhibited in his shop the paintings of Constant Troyon and Jean -francois Millet, who along with other painters encouraged Monet to follow the artistic world.(cmonetgallery.com). Monet’s artistic career started much before the impressionist movement. While he is famous today for his landscapes and nature scenes, it wasn’t until Monet began to paint outside, and focusing on the natural beauty of France in 1858. While Eugene Boudin’s impact on Monet immeasurable, It’s important to note that other painters also contributed to his development, Monet received many practical lesson from Johan Jongkind and Gustave Courbet. Gustave Courbet , on the other hand , was a Realist. His influence can be seen in Monet’s thick application of paint and defined forms in his early works. (cmonetgallery.com). Monet love for the outdoors as made him a name. His painting has gave him fame as many painter’s who has encounters the same abstract as to Monet . Over the years Monet and Camille had moved to different places before they finally settled down, in 1871 she gave birth to their second son,which at the time she was not in her best of health. In 1876 she became ill and later died in 1879. It was until 1892 that Monet remarried to Alice Hoschede. As the years went by Monet continued his love for art and painted as many as he could. Monet die in 1926 of lung cancer on December 5. In Conclusion Monet was a creative individual. By letting his love for art as a young child, gives him the courage to pursue his dream and never give up, even when the ones close to him had doubt. he prove himself that he can do what he intend to do, and he was willing to learn. This shows that one can accomplish what they want to do as long as they have the will and determination to reach the top. He had the intelligences, and he kept on with the growth from different artistic influences and supportive individuals, and information that he received. He increased his painting ability from marginality, and re-orientation of a domain, consistent production of quality works. Monet was a genius and creative.
