In todays society we are constantly obsessing over what the rich and famous do in public, and in private, and this infatuation is growing every day. But often most people don’t know the truth about how the paparazzi went about taking those pictures that end up in your magazine, probably followed by a false story. In the last decade alone there has been many accidents that the sole blame has been placed on the paparazzi. The paparazzi uses extreme and very illegal techniques to get a shot of their target, even if it means causing series injuries. There for, the paparazzi needs stricter laws and guidelines on how and where they can take photos of celebrities and their families.
Before I get into all of the horrible things the paparazzi has done, let me enlighten you on how the paparazzi came to be. Before the term paparazzo was coined in Italy, by an Italian film director named Federico Fellini, people saw the paparazzi as simple press photographers. In 1960 Fellini was directing a movie called “La Dolce Vita”, and in his movie there was a character who was a press photographer named Paparazzo. In Greg Brian’s article, a published Yahoo author, he describes how the character got his name, “This character accompanies the Marcelle character in the film… and has long been rumored to be based on an odd Italian word called ‘papataceo’ that’s a description for an annoying buzzing sound coming from a mosquito” (Brian). In this quote, the author explains how the paparazzi can be compared to buzzing insects, always following their target, celebrities.
Since the term paparazzi was coined, they have become worst then mosquitoes, from taking series and illegal risks, to costing lives. The first major paparazzi related accident happened in 1...

...Later on in this article the author talks about how it wasn’t even Justin driving the Ferrari, it was his assistant. This accident is a great reason why the paparazzi is dangerous and needs more strict laws against them. If they are willing to put themselves into harms way, then they are willing to do the same when it comes to the safety of celebrities and their children.
The paparazzi in todays society uses extreme and dangerous tactics to get shots of celebrities and their families, even if it means putting themselves, the celebrities and their families, and the public in danger. The accidents the paparazzi have caused have cost lives, money, and time for something that shouldn’t even be a problem. It is time for the paparazzi to be forced to respect the safety and privacy of celebrities and their families by placing more strict laws against the paparazzi.
As celebrities stand distinctively among the masses and cast out their halos of personality charm and strong suits of skilled abilities, the controversies about them are unavoidable shadows created from their fame. With the popularization of celebrity culture, information synchronization, and communication technology, their lives are publicly exposed and various forms of media (depending on eras) record their flaws. Tough information transmitted to audiences are frequently biased, evidences of objective reality remains, even in the remote past.
When considering the issue of celebrities receiving unfair treatment by making their punishment worse than a regular persons is totally un orthodox so it is essential to know that their regular too. Also all people don’t know what rules they are violating or what rules they need to know so they won’t violate them. All people aren’t guilty neither are they all innocent but they should suffer equal consequences.
The question of paparazzi threatening privacy and First Amendment rights is often to situational to argue in a conventional manner, but certainly there are many facets of the issue which can be addressed in a quite straightforward manner. Celebrities who feel they have the right to privacy in public places often muddy the waters of this issue. Oddly enough, those celebrities who have chosen to speak out against what they feel are violations of their privacy most always begin their campaigns with a large press conference. In other words, they gather together those people they wish to not only suppress but also berate in hopes that these people will use their positions and skills to carry these celebrity's messages to the public. Is often seems that theses celebrities want it "both ways" in that they appreciate coverage when they have a movie, record, or book coming out, but not at any other time.
What about celebrities and people who are constantly in the media? They are just like us, they make mistakes. They have run-ins with the law, they need justice too. When a celebrity needs compensation for a wrongful death case, is it handed to them? When a celebrity has a DUI are their punishments as severe as the usual? When a celebrity is charged with possession of drugs, do they get treated like everyone else? When a celebrity is called for jury duty, are they given a fair chance to participate in this civil duty? Does the legal system go about treating celebrities the same way they would a regular person, why and how?
In each of the cases discussed in this report, the court is presented the challenge of deciding whether to protect a celebrityʻs right to publicity or to protect and artistʻs constitutional right to free speech. These protections are at conflict because the First amendment encourages the unencumbered exchange of ideas and public discourse, which celebrities are an inextricable part of. Yet, the right to publicity entitles a celebrity to profit from their reputation and prevent others from doing so. Despite the similarities present between these cases, the evidence presented as well as the circumstances surrounding each case distinguish them from each other. For example, the first two cases involve the argument of a videogame companyʻs use of
The public has been revolutionary to have access into celebrities’ private life thanks to the “paparazzi”. Definitely, celebrities will always be in front of the camera. It comes with the frame. Nevertheless, it does not justify photographing and the lives of people at the expanse of their privacy.
Photographing an individual whether famous or not in public will not violate that person’s privacy under the laws in most countries. Assuming the paparazzi isn’t assaulting someone or trespassing or otherwise doing something illegal while taking such a picture, he or she will not be violating the law. Public figures do not ask for a total invasion of their privitness .Few of us lead lives that are not classified into a newsworthy. Just because these people contribute to their profession in front of the world, it does not mean that they should be denied the right to privacy and respect. Therefore Paparazzi should be banned from exposing people’s private lives, any way they want.
Over the last few decades celebrity and fame has changed dramatically, from Alexander the Great to Kim Kardashian. Talent and achievements no longer play a huge role when it comes to our celebrities. “Much modern celebrity seems the result of careful promotion or great good looks or something besides talent and achievement” (Epstein2) with that being said celebrity-creation has blossomed into an industry of its own. Keeping up with all the gossips from breaking up to hooking up, law suits and drama many might come to an agreement that celebrity culture is starting to be the great new art form in our new generation and that it ...
After observing and researching all the sources portraying celebrities I have came into a conclusion that todays society it seems like all we want is to be accepted and we tend to look at other people and judge. Its not right, we all are different and thats what makes the world go round. It would be a pretty boring world if we were all the same. Celebrities deal with this everyday, I think the paparazzi know more about some celebrities lives than they actually do. They judge them for who they are and what they do, it is not right nor fair.
In Seasons of Migration to the North, the sexual relationships that Mustafa Sa’eed deliberately gets involved with with the several women in the novel, can be seen as his way of getting “revenge” on the West for colonialism. Throughout the novel Mustafa Sa’eed’s sexual exploits with Ann Hammond, Sheila Greenwood and Isabella Seymour, can be seen as the process of “reverse colonization” as Musataf Sa’eed himself expressed as trying to “Liberate Africa with (his) penis” (p. 120). Mustafa Sa’eed embodies the figure of a colonizer and tries to colonize the west through sexual conquests with these women, which ultimately lead to their death. I will be exploring how Mustafa Sa’eed is able to successfully, in his mind, colonize these women, physically
In today’s society, human beings feel the need to read about other people’s lives in order to be entertained. Rather than taking interest in other activities like reading or the arts, people take interest in celebrity gossip. Society takes an interest in celebrity gossip because it is entertainment for them or it makes them feel better about themselves. Either way, people are reading more on celebrity gossip rather than picking up a good book and reading that instead. Celebrity gossip is not bad since, in a way, it is a form of news, but with gossip websites such as TMZ.com and Perezhilton.com, these websites have no boundaries as to what they put on their pages. Some stories may be interesting while others are just
Photojournalism plays a critical role in the way we capture and understand the reality of a particular moment in time. As a way of documenting history, the ability to create meaning through images contributes to a transparent media through exacting the truth of a moment. By capturing the surreal world and presenting it in a narrative that is relatable to its audience, allows the image to create a fair and accurate representation of reality.
Should celebrities have their right to privacy? Before newspapers, television, and the internet, ordinary people were not exposed to endless stories about celebrities. Today however, we are bombarded with information about who is dating whom, where they eat, and what they wear from magazines such as People, Entertainment Weekly, and Star. Also, most ordinary people respect the rights of others to a private life. However, some people are just obsessed to get information out of celebrities. They want to know everything about them and have a desire for more information. Celebrities should have their right to privacy due to historical/practical rights, their invasion of privacy with paparazzi, and their childrens’ rights to privacy. They are ordinary people just with a famous role in life.
...ion in a home or other private place. Even though these are not currently illegal actions, the media should act as if they were. Like other people, public figures should be able to separate their job from their family and personal lives. When public figures are spending time with their families, they should not be harassed by the media; intrusions on the privacy of celebrities are intrusions on the privacy of everyone.
When living their day-to-day lives in the public eye, many celebrities must deal with gossip columnists, the infatuation of stalkers, and the unrelenting paparazzi. They follow celebrities into restaurants, their children’s schools, on vacations, and even their residential neighborhoods (Jones). By seeking out and publishing the whereabouts of celebrities, they cannot be sure who will find or come across that information. The paparazzi ...
