There are people in the United States who are paid to follow and ambush famous people at all times. These people are known as the paparazzi. The paparazzi stop at nothing in order to photograph celebrities. In some cases, there are deadly consequences to their actions. Diana, Princess of Wales, died in a Paris car crash in 1997. She was trying to escape from the paparazzi. If the paparazzi were not chasing her, she may still be alive today.
The term “paparazzi” originated in a 1960 film, “La Dolce Vita” (Anderson). In that film, a character was named “Paparazzo,” which is an Italian word used to describe the annoying sound made by a buzzing mosquito. The word itself is pejorative. It is used to describe the aggressive nature of the paparazzi. Clearly the paparazzi are very aggressive, as evident by the death of Princess Diana.
The paparazzi are out of control. While there are some minor provisions to limit the intrusiveness brought on by the paparazzi, they are not strong enough. These laws vary by state. Most notably, the laws are in effect in California and the State of New York. These laws are rarely enforced, as the paparazzi are as intrusive as ever. Despite the strong evidence that the paparazzi are very protruding, some defend them. One might say that the paparazzi are simply doing their job. After all, the paparazzi must draw an income. They are hired to photograph famous people. However, when one’s life is on the line, a picture is not that crucial.
Several celebrities have testified to having life-threating experiences, especially in those cases where a celebrity may refuse to have their picture taken. Also, a celebrity may try to flee from the paparazzi, thus resulting in a possible car accident. No person should h...

Celebrity worship is a term given to those who obsess over one or more celebrity. Jake Halpern's "The Popular Crowd," discusses how loneliness increases the likelihood of someone worshiping celebrities. Worshiping of celebrities is not necessarily bad, it can be helpful for those who have a social need that they need satisfied. However, this worshiping can sometimes lead to stalking and violence towards celebrities. Once this happens celebrities are put in danger. Some celebrities receive phone calls, letters, emails, and more from stalkers. They might not feel like this is a sign of danger, but it is. In order for celebrities to remain safe, they need to be educated about dangers that come with having fans.
The question of paparazzi threatening privacy and First Amendment rights is often to situational to argue in a conventional manner, but certainly there are many facets of the issue which can be addressed in a quite straightforward manner. Celebrities who feel they have the right to privacy in public places often muddy the waters of this issue. Oddly enough, those celebrities who have chosen to speak out against what they feel are violations of their privacy most always begin their campaigns with a large press conference. In other words, they gather together those people they wish to not only suppress but also berate in hopes that these people will use their positions and skills to carry these celebrity's messages to the public. Is often seems that theses celebrities want it "both ways" in that they appreciate coverage when they have a movie, record, or book coming out, but not at any other time.
...uld be justifiable to emphasize that a good number of them find it sickening to miss the limelight. . Nonetheless, it goes without mentioning that celebrities get exploited because some gossip stories explore the things that would otherwise be considered to be private.

In the article “The Other Side of Fame” by Mary Loftus it explains that celebrities suffer from sex, drug abuse and addiction, and explains that certain things that can cause the celebrities to cope on that. Celebrities have their own problems as well by dealing with fans, paparazzis and gold diggers etc. they are the top 10 stressors. Therefore, No one cares for those having great health or even extremely wealthy people, no boundaries such as when it comes about fans or paparazzi. The fan nor the paparazzi has respect/privacy for them which then leads them to stressing out, then cope with addiction for example drugs, alcohol. Being recognized by their appearance might be there most stressful part of being a celebrity. Self vs Image there
It is fundamental to the business. Every little detail the public wants to follow, like what and where they are eating, whom they will marry, or what they are doing all day – such a vicious cycle. Sometimes stars want publicity and press, and many of them have opened their lives to the public on social media, or reality shows. However, some of them just want to have a little bit of privacy in their lives when they spend time with their families such as vacations, sexual preferences, etc. What kind of limitations should be applied to the paparazzi?
Photographing an individual whether famous or not in public will not violate that person’s privacy under the laws in most countries. Assuming the paparazzi isn’t assaulting someone or trespassing or otherwise doing something illegal while taking such a picture, he or she will not be violating the law. Public figures do not ask for a total invasion of their privitness .Few of us lead lives that are not classified into a newsworthy. Just because these people contribute to their profession in front of the world, it does not mean that they should be denied the right to privacy and respect. Therefore Paparazzi should be banned from exposing people’s private lives, any way they want.
How about creating a law against the use of telephoto lens and parabolic listening devices? How about creating a new crime—One that will penalize those persisting and persuading photographers, the Paparazzi also known to celebrities as stalkarazzi who follow the rich and famous for the thousand dollars snapshot that reveals some special, intimate moment or an embarrassing one. Should there be a law rebuking such act? Should there be strict laws preventing press photographers (paparazzi) from pursuing persons who do not want to be photograph?
What are the celebrities doing? Today, we live in a society that tends to drown our everyday lives in mass media such as tabloids, reality shows, newspapers such as the New York Times and personal-interest magazines, like People and Us, to get a glimpse of the interesting lives of everyday celebrities. Some might say that a celebrity is someone who we idolize, while Daniel Boorstin, author of the book The Image: Or What Happened to the American Dream, states that a celebrity “is a person who is well-known for his well-knownness” (Epstein1). But the question still remains. what are celebrities?
After observing and researching all the sources portraying celebrities I have came into a conclusion that todays society it seems like all we want is to be accepted and we tend to look at other people and judge. Its not right, we all are different and thats what makes the world go round. It would be a pretty boring world if we were all the same. Celebrities deal with this everyday, I think the paparazzi know more about some celebrities lives than they actually do. They judge them for who they are and what they do, it is not right nor fair.
Of course, there are some items of celebrity gossip that span more than one category, like Tiger Woods’ recently revealed infidelity which has led to separation from his wife, legal issues and negative effects on his career in golf. However, despite the fact that almost nothing is “off-limits” to tabloids, almost all celebrity gossip falls into the categories of romance, children, appearance, legal problems and career.
They want to know everything about them and have a desire for more information. Celebrities should have their right to privacy due to historical/practical rights, their invasion of privacy with paparazzi, and their childrens’ rights to privacy. They are ordinary people just with a famous role in life. Historical/practical rights are one of the biggest issues and it all started back in colonial America. In colonial America, privacy was constrained.
Like the Greek Gods and Heroes, Hollywood celebrities rarely die on screen. They often possess superhuman powers and are gilded with either Herculean invincibility or Venetian beauty. If they do die, it either represents a martyrdom like Christ's death, or is due to an Achilles heel or a dark fate, serving to heighten the tragedy. Finally, the Hollywood celebrity manifests a god-like ubiquity both on and off the screen- they can be in many places at one time - acting on thousands of screens, smiling from thousand of billboards and photographed and interviewed in thousan...
...ion in a home or other private place. Even though these are not currently illegal actions, the media should act as if they were. Like other people, public figures should be able to separate their job from their family and personal lives. When public figures are spending time with their families, they should not be harassed by the media; intrusions on the privacy of celebrities are intrusions on the privacy of everyone.
In previous years, the issue with the paparazzi and media has grown. With the advances in technology, it makes taking and posting photos of celebrities or public figures much easier. The public appears greedy and feels privy to their private lives. Celebrities, or any public figure, have very limited privacy due to the paparazzi and media. The paparazzi and media are also affecting celebrities’ children. Currently, laws are being put in effect to stop this.
