From these two approaches, we also have two play theories. These theories are called psychoanalytic and Jungian. Psychoanalytic is a directive approach. Whereas, Jungian is a non-directive approach. Although different, they both have one thing in common, focusing on understanding and treating their client trauma. A. Topic 1.1 - write 50 words
Psychoanalytic Play therapy is the first example of a directive approach. This kind of approach is used to establish a connection with the child and is also used to observe the child in a comfortable setting, these sometimes encourage interpretative communication. This theory’s goal is that through play, the therapist and child are working toward a common goal of conflict resolution. B. Topic 1.2 - write 50 words
The next theory was Jungian play theory. This theory is considered a non-directive approach. This theory was developed by Carl Jung. This psychologist believed that it was the therapist job to follow the child psyche where it needed to go instead of directing it. One of the most used and recognized is non-directive centered play therapy (CCPT). In this type of therapy, the therapist tracks the child’s progress, allows the child to lead, and sets few limits. This type of therapy focuses on the useful practice of reality play therapy which incorporates counseling and the arts.

Many therapists have found some ways to incorporate play and art into Cognitive behavioral therapy, also known as (CBT). Some therapists suggest using CBT after working with kids from natural disasters. These therapists were encouraged to use puppets. They were also encouraged to use finger painting, dress up, singing, and drawing. In one interesting case, they used a horse to help children work through their problems at their own pace. B.
