Outdoors is where the knowledge lies I believe children of today society are becoming lazy and losing valuable life lessons. The knowledge learnt from sitting inside on a screen compared to being active outside is unparalleled. With kids becoming more lazy the physical and healths effects are coming more and more dramatic. Instinctively sport teaches the major qualities of determination, self discipline and hard work. Top sports women and men have learnt over years that training is the only way to achieve anything, is to be determined, have self discipline and work extremely hard. Whether you are playing for the netball team or racing rally cars in the back country, we will still learn very similar lessons from sport. It’s late on in the game and the legs are on fire, the burn in your lungs is excruciating but your team depends on you to run harder and faster than you have all game. Yes it’s hurting. How to win and how to lose. It is both an art to win with modesty and to lose with humility. No one likes a cocky winner that rubs the loss in our faces, but at the same time no one likes a complaining, moaning loser. Everyone has heard the story of the Tortoise and the Hare. The Hare was arrogant about his blistering pace. “How do you expect to win when you walk at your slow, slow pace” said the Hare. The arrogance of the Hare blinds himself from the determination on the Tortoise. As he Hare has a sleep the Tortoise passes him and himself to the victory. On that day the Hare learns a valuable lesson we all will learn at some point and that is he should have been modest about his natural given gifts. “ Don’t brag about your lighting pace, for slow and steady won the race”. At no point does the Tortoise brag about winning and therefore becomes the a champion in both
