Please share a situation in which you sensed the Spirit as mentioned in the chapter. How did the presence reveal itself and how did it affect how you felt?
While working professionally and when dealing with family, there have been times when I have felt someone speaking through me. It was like having an out of body experience, listening to and watching myself offer direction and advice. Like Max said, he could tell when he was on course with God and when he was not. As hard as I try to keep pace with what God wants me to do, sometimes it gets hard. My daily dealings with people, not like I have another choice, will sometimes test my patience and I end up saying something I wish I had just phrased a different way. Especially when it comes
Whenever I learned to trust and turn to God, I found His comfort to satisfy my soul. Almost two years ago, one of my best friends became extremely ill and had to leave home and go to a treatment clinic. (For her privacy, I will not say the illness). She had to immediately leave for she was due to die in two weeks if she did not find help. Whenever she told me the news, my whole world flipped upside down. My life had been pretty okay before this, just a few ups and downs. This was the first major trial in my life and I was not prepared. Of course, I prayed for her but I did not grasp the fact that God was going to save her. I was extremely emotionally unstable and I tried to fix myself on my own. This never worked, I may have had temporarily relief but the fear came back. One day I finally gave up trying to fix myself and turned to God. I asked Him to forgive me for not turning to Him first and I allowed him to fix me. I placed my trust in him and ran to him for comfort. Even when it was difficult, I knew I had to trust in Him. Once I placed my faith in Him, my comfort came. I had faith that He would heal her and she will not

...ot be based on my own understanding and interpretations. Yes, I must fuse personal knowledge into counseling sessions, but I have to discipline myself to heavily rely on God for ultimate confirmation and decision making with clients.
Now that we have established the Spirit as a person, how does He play a personal role in our lives and what is His role in the Trinity? When we are faced with trials and di...
There are many phenomena present in today’s world concerning both life and death. An extraordinary incorporation of these prominent values is a Near Death Experience (NDE). Near Death Experiences empower and affect the psyche of many, changing their lives forever and altering their perception of death. Many questions arise from this particular topic simply because you have to experience it to fully understand its meaning. Questions such as, What is it, What happens, and how do they occur are familiar to experts in this field or to the people who have first hand experience.
The doctrine of the Holy Spirit begins with examining biblical witness to the work of the Holy Spirit in the history of Israel, as well as the ministry of Jesus, and in the life of the church. During the creation account it was the breath of God that grave life to all creation. The Holy Spirit has been a primate actor sin the beginning of time. While the Spirit was present prior to the ministry of Christ, the New Testament speaks in greater detail of the Spirit because it empowered Jesus. From his conception to the day of Pentecost the Sprit was present and active in the life of Christ and the believers. We see in ...
Overview This paper will discuss the mind-body connection and its relevance to health care professionals and to the public. It will explore the history of the mind-body connection, as well as state research that has been done on the subject. The reader will gain an understanding of the various techniques used in mind-body therapy, as well as their effectiveness. What is the Mind-Body Connection?
The mind has an incredible power. We see it as we go through our everyday activities, constantly displaying the wonders of logic, thought, memory and creativity. Yet, can the mind be more powerful than we know? Is it possible to reduce or even eliminate pain, illness and disease by using the natural powers it possesses? Can the mind heal?
Extrasensory perception or ESP is the knowledge of external objects or events without using our five basic senses. People that believe that they have a kind of ESP are people such as psychics or spiritualists that believe they can communicate with the dead (Encarta). ESP is a supernatural and is nothing of the natural world that can be explained.
My faith is what keeps me going in the bad times. One of my favorite Bible verses is Philippians 5:6: be not anxious in anything, but in everything, with prayer and thanksgiving, present your request to God. Sometimes it is a lot easier said than done and I have to remind myself that God is in control, and worrying about what may happen does not change anything. I start each day praying that the Holy Spirit will surround me and that the light of Jesus will shine through me. It is definitely not easy to always display the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. Many times, I have to stop in my tracks and ask for help to deal with difficult situations. I still struggle with anxiety and lack of confidence, for instance I am pretty insecure about writing this paper. It is pretty interesting though, that like always, I can feel God’s presence. I am typing this and someone is on the television, singing the song “Jesus Take the Wheel”.
The biggest thing that I’ve been dealing with and at this time still struggle with is in finding my self-worth. Some may also call it self-confidence. I feel that I have tended to confuse God’s love for me as primarily traveling through vessels, i.e. other people in the body of Christ. I all too often can look back on my past and see the points where I felt the most apart from God and tie them in with instances where I had torn relationships with past friends in the church. Throughout this struggle though, I have continued to feel the presence of God, through the Holy Spirit, comforting me and guiding me on this spi...
Do you like to talk out your problems with a friend? Do you like to hear other people’s problems? Why do we always need to share our problems with someone? The truth is, humans are weak. We’ve always known that we can’t live by ourselves. So, it’s not a question that we need to share our burdens with someone else. We want someone to feel what we’re going through. And we’re hoping that that friend of ours has a way out of it, right? Whatever it takes, we want our problems to be solved. Unfortunately, it’s not every time can we find someone who wants to hear our problems L. Well, that’s the way humans are. We’re not perfect. But our Father in heaven is. He will faithfully listen to everything we’ve got on our minds. He is the only one who has the way, the truth, and the life. Of course, He knows how to solve our problems and He will help us with them. Now, doesn’t that sound good? Well, don’t you want to learn to hear God’s voice? The question is…how does He talk to us? Here are a few ways:
At one point or another in one’s life you are faced with God, eye to eye and you know it. You can feel the Holy Spirit’s presence, like a humming sound that’s too low to hear, but it’s there and you can feel it, a feeling that you are not alone. For some, this feeling lasts for eternity, and for others God works within them again and again because the Lord’s love is persistent. The feeling I had came and went, for it was not strong enough as a child. But now, I am the strongest I have ever been.
In the first case, the apostles experience the Holy Spirit in the same way that Jesus experienced
