Once a patient meets all the qualifications, submits the request to a physician, and is approved by two physicians, the patient can move forward with this process. Typically, a physician prescribes the patient a medication at a specific dose, essentially aiding the patient in overdosing. Once the patient receives the medication, they are allowed to take it where they feel comfortable, though they are advised not to do so in public. Patients also must take the medication in the state they receive the medication in and reside in; if a patient takes their medication outside of the state they’ve been prescribed it in, they will not be protected by law and their death will be ruled a suicide. One in three patients who receive their prescription end up never taking it.

Although the pharmaceutical industry says that prescription medicines are as safe as they can possibly be, prescribed drugs have a high increase of risking a patient’s health. According to the law, drug makers seek Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for specific uses of their products and conduct trials to test their drugs safety and effectiveness in patients with specific conditions. However, once the FDA approves a drug for one use, doctors can prescribe it for whatever they want. The FDA is considering loosening the monitoring of off-label prescriptions, but if anything, regulations should be tightened. Despite the practices of some medical personnel, the risk of serious medical complications demands that the FDA regulate and restrict off-label use of prescription drugs.

“Fasting is an effective and safe method of helping the body detoxify itself.” Quote by: James F. Balch, and Phyllis A. Balch. When you begin fasting, toxins are created in your body, mostly because of food and water. During your fast your body is provided resting time, most importantly, it gives your organs a rest which could potentially prolong your life. To prepare yourself for a fast you should try to eat mostly fruits, and vegetables. Intermittent fasting means fasting for certain hours of a day. While periodic fasting is when you fast for three days or longer for two or more weeks. The description of hunger is when your bodies respond to lack of food, then your body begins searching for food. If you get hungry during your fast it’s advised that you eat watermelon (if you absolutely need it), drink lemon juice or coffee.
