In this vast contemporary society, many voices go unheard. Our society struggles to break free from the problems it presents to us. Problems such as the environment, human rights, animal rights, and peace among nations continue to exist. Organizations such as Greenpeace, Sierra Club, and Amnesty are 3 of the biggest associations to help fight and put a cease to the world’s troubles. Greenpeace is a non-profit organization, with a presence in 40 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific. Greenpeace exists because our fragile planet deserves a voice. It needs solutions, change, and action. To maintain its independence, Greenpeace doesn’t accept donations from governments or corporations but relies on contributions from individual supporters and foundation grants. As a global organization, Greenpeace focuses on the most crucial worldwide threats to our planet's biodiversity and environment. They campaign to: Stop climate change, protect ancient forests, save the oceans, stop whaling, say no to genetic engineering, stop nuclear threats, eliminate toxic chemicals and encourage sustainable trade. Greenpeace has been campaigning against environmental dilapidation since 1971. They exist to expose environmental criminals, and to challenge government and corporations when they fail to live up to their mandate to safeguard our environment and our future. Greenpeace speaks for 2.8 million supporters worldwide, and encourages many millions more than that to take action every day. As one of the longest banners they've ever made summed things up, "When the last tree is cut, the last river poisoned, and the last fish dead, we will discover that we can't eat money..." Greenpeace is one of the strongest movements and is recognized by the media. Corporations find them as a nuisance because they are constantly campaigning. They influence the public through protests, rallies, banners and many different peaceful ways of gaining attention through the media. You can join their newsletter and support them whenever you’d like. They like to keep the public informed constantly as to what is occurring. Sierra Club is about supporting different issues relating to helping the environment or people. They promote different issues relating to our society today. They encourage its supporters to take action. Such issues include: Telling the National Park Service to protect Padre Island National Seashore from natural gas drilling, Helping protect the wilderness experience on the Colorado River, Supporting an increase in family planning, Help break America's oil dependence, Stopping the Bush Administration's Anti-Environmental Trade
There are many issues this world faces such as pollution, car fatalities, not taking care off the world etc.. People try and show their concerns for these issues by starting organisations or having protests and just trying to get people to realise that what they are doing is wrong and that we cant continue to live like this.
After 8 years the SEC finally found the scheme controlled by Madoff. In December 2008 Madoff was found guilty; however, stayed under house arrest by the until his trial in March of 2009. He was not arrested because of the 10-million-dollar payment which allowed him to stay under home surveillance until the trial. While at home, he and his wife, mailed valuables such as jewels and jewelry to family members. In March of 2009, Bernard Madoff was finally found guilty and was sentenced to 150 years in prison. On the day of his arrest, the FBI found 100 checks that totaled $173 million dollars that were made to friends, family, and
In May 2002 the SIPC trustee filed a 255.3 million lawsuit against the Madoff family. Madoff company BLMIS ended on December 11 2008 when he was arrested for stealing his customer’s money. For more than 50 years Madoff s company money from people and on June 29th 2009 he pleaded guilty "to 11 counts Complaint and was sentenced as a hundred fifty years in prison"(Lewis, 2013
He pointed out that BMIS reported only seven small monthly losses in 174 months (14.5 years) (Shafritz, Russell, Borick 2013). The SEC failed to act on any of his information. Markopolis said that he “gift wrapped and delivered the largest Ponzi scheme in history to them and somehow they couldn’t be bothered to conduct a thorough and proper investigation because they were too busy on matters of higher priority (Shafritz, Russell, Borick pg.350).” During subcommittee hearings, claims were made that the SEC is too close to big players in the financial world, causing a fog within the commission. The SEC responded slowly to tips about Madoff’s Ponzi scheme because they did not have the right employees in place. The SEC has relied more on a group of young attorneys and lifelong government employees to do its business (Shafritz, Russell, and Borick, 2013). In the end, Bernie Madoff could not keep up with all his lies when the economy went bad. He turned himself before anybody in the SEC had started an investigation into his Ponzi scheme. Markopolis stated in a 60 minutes interview, “That’s typically how the SEC does it. They come in after the crime has been committed, they toe tag the victims, count the bodies, and try to figure out who the crooks were, after the fact, which does none of us any good (60 minutes interview).
His Scheme had gone on for so long and the amount of money got so large that soon it was going to have to end. In the case of Bernie Madoff, his scheme started to fall apart after clients requested their returns back equaling about $7 billion dollars. The problem was Bernie only had about $300 million to give back. Bernie himself ran off with about $20 billion. (5 Years Ago)
At age 40, Muhammad had a sudden revelation from God. In 613 CE, Muhammad began his preaching.
Tangibly speaking, discrimination occurring on the basis of sexual orientation, while small in aggregate numbers, reaches the same rates as gendered discrimination against women in the workplace, when measured at a per capita rate, and creates a situation in which homosexual and transgendered individuals typically earn 10 or more percent less income than their heterosexual peers (Croteau, 1996). With this, sexual orientation-based discrimination is a significant problem in American society. In a broad sense, the pervasiveness of this discrimination is facilitated by the significant permeation of religious bias into America's ostensibly secular democracy and civil society. Tangibly, large religious organizations such as the Catholic and Mormon Churches have waged proverbial wars against LGBT individuals, seeking to deny them of equal rights in many American states, with a notable example being the battle over Proposition 8 in the state of California (Wilcox & Iida, 2011, 181-183). Furthermore, anti-gay hate speech emerging from groups such as Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church has permeated the country's public sphere, and thus contributed to a climate that is hostile to LGBT individuals, and which has unfortunately seeped into the business environment, in both systematic and idiosyncratic ways (Barrett-Fox, 2010, 4-5).
He was born in the town of Mecca, which at the time, followed mostly a polytheistic religion (Haleem x). At the young age of six years old Muhammad’s mom passed. Muhammad was employed as a trader by a wealthy and well-respected widow named Khadija. He married Khadija and did not remarry until after her death (Haleem x). In addition to the individuals that use their wealth and influence to attempt to save the environment, there are also many individuals and organizations on the other side of the issue. These individuals and organizations are not necessarily anti-environment rather they are those who have a large stake in industries like manufacturing and fossil fuel energy or those who feel that the high initial cost of changing existing infrastructure and researching new technologies are not worth the eventual gains for the environment.
The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has been helping to protect people and the environment they live in since 1970. They help get information out to the public about events that causes damage to the environment. They do this many ways, one of which they

sexual to get a job, as it would be for a heterosexual. Companies and other major firms would rather choose someone that is straight then someone having the same sex partner. Sometimes homosexuals get the job but they do not have the same rights as any other employee would. Though out the United States there has been more then a dozen of cases dealing with equal employment opportunities. The university of Pittsburgh denies their lesbian and gay employees equal compensation by refusing to provide their1 partners the same health insurance benefits that they provide to spouses of heterosexual employees. Gays and lesbians should have the same rights to have relationships as everyone else, and should have the same employment opportunities.
Firstly, people should know about the company which means look at the company as a whole, not only see the green advertisements. People can look for a complete environmental story on their web site. If there is no authentic information to validate the green claims which was promoted in the campaign then possibly you are being greenwashed intentionally or by error. For instance, consumer products make some kinds of false claim about their environmental friendliness—whether it is by using a term that is poorly...
