I have always wanted to attend Oregon State University. My family originates from the Willamette Valley and has been old school grass seed farmers who proudly call themselves Oregon State Beavers. As a result, given my love and affinity for baseball and family history it has been my hearts desire to earn my degree at OSU.
SInce my first day of high school I Have been working hard to maintain my grade point. Unfortunately this was not enough, i aimed to end my junior year with above a three point gpa in hopes of being accepted into Oregon state. My history in math has held up my grades for many years. As I entered High School I realized that I would have to work extra hard to maintain the grade in math to ensure my candidacy at OSU.

While my grades may not reflect it, they are a result of very hard work, dedication and refusal to settle for second best, although it is valid to consider the differences in each persons abilities when thinking of effort. My effort in all I do is at least 100% with determination, commitment and integrity being the foundation of my desire to do my very best. My grades at the point of graduation will be at the minimum of 3.0. I am within only a few points to achieve that grade point average and will be certain that I accomplish that. I would like to attend Oregon state to maintain my family's history, my high academic standards as well as in hopes of participating in the Baseball program, of which I would love to be a part. I have spent my growing up years with my family, studying and playing baseball, which i believe reflect strong core values that are worthy of OSU.
It is my hope that while my grades cannot be overlooked, there will be some grace and perspective as well as understanding that my grades will be at the level expected by OSU by graduation. I truly believe I have worked hard in school, as a student who has struggled academically but put aside all else to be as successful as
I am a dedicated, focused student looking to push the boundaries of Engineering Physics with creative out of the box thinking. I have the drive to be successful and positively represent UBC Engineering Physics. I have a passion for physics and math which is why I believe this program is so appealing and a perfect choice. Having already started, run and sold a successful landscaping company, I have experience in entrepreneurship and have determined being an entrepreneur is something I want to pursue in the future. I believe Engineering Physics would give me the opportunity and breadth of knowledge to make my entrepreneurial vision a reality and allow me to find solutions to the issues that will impact the future of humanity. An HBCU is a college/university that embeds the nature of power and black excellence; a place with surroundings that doesn’t force you, but makes you want to push yourself to become a better person inside and out, and throughout the community. Transferring would allow myself to be put in an atmosphere of continuous motivation and growth that I would feed off of my superiors and the people around me.
The main component I look for in college is their commitment to further my studies. I feel this college will provide an ingenious culture within the science field, therefore rendering myself with the building blocks necessary to later pursue the medical field. Not only does UNCW devote itself towards their student’s undergraduate years, but also by providing Professional pathways such as Pre-Medicine, students such as myself can go into Professional schools better prepared. In addition to my interest in the academics the school has to offer, I also marvel at the amount of extracurricular activities available to the student body. I believe that I will be academically successful at Ohio State because I have taken the time to realize what my career goals are. When I graduated from high school in 1996, I really had no idea what career path I wanted to pursue. So I listened to a lot of wise people who pointed out the things that I was good at. I entered Ohio University as an Engineering major and later switched to Industrial Technology. After many years in college I found I was not successful at the things I had previously been successful at. I realized that what I was studying really did not interest me. I actually didn’t like it at all. That was the point that I decided I had wasted enough time and money and I walked away from college.
My GPA is a 4.1000 and it teeters between 4.1500 and 4.1000. I haven't ever had a C and my grades are all A’s or A+’s. I also make sure I behave in class, so my work habits grades are also all A’s and A+’s. I’m consistently make sure that I keep my grades where they are and I always am striving for my best. If I do happen to get a grade I'm not fond of, I make sure that as soon as possible I get my grade back up to the desired A or A+. For instance, once I had a complex goal not met, so as soon as I could, I made sure I got my grade up. Now that goal is met and my grade for that quarter is A+. Even in the topics I don't enjoy as much, I make sure I work my hardest. I’m always trying to improve my grade with extra credits and 4.0 opportunities. Throughout my two years in high school, I have been trying to maintain a certain grade point average. I’ve passed two of my state tests already and I have yet to take my English II and U.S. History state test. I passed my Algebra I test in 8th grade with Proficient and my Biology I test my freshman year with Proficient. My grades fell off the first 9 weeks of this school year because I had a hard time understanding English II and I ended up scoring Basic on my 1st 9 weeks benchmark test. Now I have made a promise to myself that I will be advanced in everything from now on. I’ve been studying more and working in my SATP practice booklets and now my grades are improving. When I was in 2nd grade I was accepted into the Gifted/Excel class at Bentonia Gibbs up until my 7th grade year at Yazoo County Junior High. Ever since junior high, I have been in the advanced classes, and I hope that will help me with my plan to graduate as one of the top of my class.
My GPA is low; about a 2.7. I have been to many different high schools. I have not been academically successful. However, I do fairly well on standardized tests ACT 30 and SAT M660 V640.
I prepared myself thoroughly for the last two years at my undergraduate institution. To enable myself to apply at Berkeley, I worked hard during the last two years of my undergraduate studies, ultimately obtaining a CGPA of 3.88 in 4.00 and a rank of 8 among the 139 students graduating in February 2004. My GPA's in the last two terms were perfect 4’s.
Although the decision of where to attend Graduate school may be difficult for some, this was one of the easiest decisions I have made about my future. The past four years at ECU have helped me grow into the person I am today and helped me decide to stay at ECU for the MSA program. Not to sound too much of a fangirl, but if I was in the world of Harry Potter, the Sorting Hat would have without a doubt put me in Ravenclaw. I have been known for my voracious appetite for reading and learning new topics. I also am know to be very strong-willed, sometimes even obstinate, which has helped me overcome challenges in my academic career. Most of all, I am a humanist in philosophical sense that I want my legacy of doing some good in the world. That is why it has been my life’s goal to earn a Ph.D., and I have learned through various life experiences that I want to do so in the field of Public Administration concentrating on Law and Public Policy.
A sense of independence has consistently played a role in each of my personal endeavors. Experiences started with packing my own lunch and doing my own laundry in second grade, which unfolded into a successful job throughout high school while balancing academic and athletic responsibilities. My up-to-the-challenge attitude, determination, and adaptability push others and assist them to be more comfortable in a strenuous environment. I want to continue my venture of self-discovery through higher education to adequately prepare myself for future pursuit. Surrounding myself in UW-Whitewater’s supportive environment will assist me in achieving my goals. The acceptance rate of the University of California, Los Angeles is 18%. Also, the GPA average at UCLA is a 4.31. Then their SAT scores are 580-710 for reading, 610-750 for math, and 600-730 for writing. As a result of the school's high expectations, I will have to work strenuously. To accomplish this goal, I will set up a study schedule. During this, I will dedicate my time to study old and new material. All distractions will be put away so that I can concentrate. I have accomplished a lot in a short period; however, my journey is not complete until I continue my education. Essentially, this degree will help foster my growth and career success. My passion and dedication will speak for itself. My hard work and determination will prevail and I am a fit more than the next applicant because I have the passion, experience, critical thinking and analytical skills needed to complete this program through successfully arguing my capstone in front of a board or committee. My goals are definitely aligned with this program and I hope my next read is an acceptance letter from the admissions council.
When I first enrolled here at State University, I never thought I would ever be in the position to graduate. Finishing college was a huge goal growing up but it was also my biggest fear. But after three and a half years of dedication I plan to get my degree in the fall. Getting this far in college was not easy, it took encouragement from family, dedication, and assistance from others to reach this position.
Attending Ohio University and obtaining my masters degree is a major goal and perhaps one of this largest and most challenging goals I want to overcome.
