Recommended: Oprah Winfrey as a role model
My Selection is Oprah Winfrey. She is a strong, ambitious, and great woman. She has had multiple obstacles in her path and she never allowed giving up because of those obstacles. She made sure she went and achieved each and every goal she had. I admire how she lives to help others that are in need. She gives those that do not have the strength or voice to speak up. Ms. Winfrey gives me the passion I have to achieve my very own goals.
Just like any other individual, Oprah Winfrey had many problems of her own. Relatives and family friends molested Oprah. After the tragedies, Oprah’s childhood began going downhill. She began acting out and being rebellious. Oprah also battled self-esteem and weight problems, “When I started gaining the weight

She has made sure to do all she can to help better the educational system. She has a public charity, “Oprah’s Angel Network” that helps educational and community businesses. She has also opened a school for girls in South Africa “The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls”. She has helped tons of charities that benefit education. Oprah’s experience gives me a lot of inspiration for my own success. She has dealt with many of the same problems I endeavored. She still managed to get over those bridges and achieve her goals. That there gives me the motivation to overcome any issues I may come across. No matter what problem she came across she did not allow them to let her give up. Therefore, I refuse to allow any of my failures or disadvantages to overpower my decision to succeed. Until this week I have never knew as much as I do today about Oprah Winfrey. I did not know how helpful she truly is to those amongst her. I admire her for being so helpful and caring. She came from nothing and wanted to do nothing but give back to everyone. She has gave me the motivation to go out and do my very best to do what it is that I truly want. To not care about what others see me for, but to accept myself. Therefore, I will be all that I choose to
This essay I have decided to write about Oprah Winfrey. This is because Oprah had many serious life events. These life events must have implemented her key development stages or the other.
Oprah’s childhood was not the greatest. Her unmarried parents split up, and she grew up on a farm with her grandmother. She developed rapidly and could read before she was three. Also, she was tested out of kindergarten and second grade, thus only taking first grade and skipping to third grade. When she turned six, she started to live with her mother and was very lonely. However, she began her speaking profession around that time. “She was invited to recite poetry at black social clubs and church teas, where she became known as ‘the little speaker.’ At 12, during a visit to her father in Nashville, she earned $500 for a speech she delivered at a church” (“Winfrey, Oprah”). As you can tell, Oprah started young in her profession and was determined to make a living off of this since her prior experiences.
Oprah Winfrey is a name that needs no introduction to most people in the world. Starting her journey with nothing, today , she has everything anybody could wish for and more. She has the money, the friends, the fame, the respect and as she repeatedly has pointed out as a comical comment, the shoes.
Oprah Gail Winfrey is one of the most famous women alive, and not only for her riches, but in the way that she has contributed back to society. Oprah has made billions and has given away more than half of those billions to different charities throughout the world. Never having children of her own, Oprah dedicates her life to making the lives of others better.

On top of that, Oprah is a capitalist pragmatist (Lofton, 2006). Oprah believes in a spiritual path, but one that does not concern religion (Lofton, 2006). Her religion is more about perfecting herself and trying to be the perfect human being (Lofton, 2006). Her family and past, her career, the nature of how she sees God, and the influence she has on people all influence Oprah and her worldview.
Oprah Winfrey lived a very rough early life until Vernon Winfrey took her into good hands. Winfrey has brought so much change to the world that one cannot just write a simple paragraph about. She has used her platform to discuss topics that are truly life changing such as Weight Issues, Reading, Give Big, and Taboo. For most people growing up is filled with memories of joy and happiness. A childhood should be filled with affection and care, but Oprah did not always feel those things.
