Role models are people who others imitate, emulate or look up to for guidance.
A good role model inspires greatness in others. In the book “Raisin in a Sun”, Lena Younger is a role model because she was a strong, proud and independent mother to her family. She was always there to guide everyone in her family to do and stand up for what is right. Like Lena Younger, Oprah Winfrey was a role model. Oprah Winfrey is best known for being a media queen; She host many television shows. Also, she is listed as one of the most charitable celebrity. She helps those in need for education and programs for women and children. Oprah Winfrey is a role model because she is courageous, positive and generous.

Oprah Winfrey is a courageous woman. Oprah’s childhood experiences led her to become as courageous as she is up to now. Oprah grew up in a broken family. She spent her first years in a rural poverty. When she was 4 years old, Oprah was sexually abuse by a number of male relatives and friends of her mother. At the age of 14, Oprah became pregnant after being raped. Her son was born premature and died within 2 weeks of his birth. Oprah came from nothing, but she rises up to be one of the most powerful women in the world. She proved not only to herself but also to everyone that despite of her rough childhood, she is still capable of reaching her dreams and being successful. Oprah became an honor student, winning prizes for her exquisite recitations. At the age of 17, Oprah was offered an on-air job at WOL, a radio station serving the African-American community in Nashville. She also won a full scholarship to Tennessee State University. Many people admire Oprah because of her courageous, positive and generous qualities. Oprah is one of the most powerful people in the world. She spends a lot of her fortune to help the underprivileged people all over the world. She established that nothing is impossible when it comes up to achieving our dreams. We just have to believe in ourselves and never give up. Even though she had a cruel childhood, she still treats everyone with love and care. Lastly, she has dedicated her life to improve other people’s lives. She gives her best selflessly and doesn’t expect anything in return. Oprah had a long and humble journey before she became what she is now. She had to overcome different obstacles but she never abdicated. Instead she just kept her eyes on the stars and her feet on the ground.
