My name Luis Vargas working with environmental group out of Daimler Cleveland, Gastonia and Mt Holly. We have a partnership with Daimler since 2012. I am summarizing about what we could do to support operation out of Gastonia. If would be possible to meet in person and provide more information, will be appreciated. With the current partnership that is currently supporting other big operation is a good example that we could provide to Daimler Components and Logistics; and something we could present to the team. We would like to support the team in Gastonia recycling the metal, but not just hauling the metal out. We would like to support the team with a unique approach and auditing the site open tops as part of the service. We are brainstorming
Gulfstream Aerospace is one of leading corporate jet manufacturers in the world. They have been building jets since the late 50’s and continue to create top of the line aircraft which have become the status symbol of success. With their success comes an extensive company infrastructure and supply chain. First, we will discuss how Gulfstream uses the location to maximize the effectiveness of its supply chain. Then we will look at the business case for Gulfstream’s approach to its supply chain, and in particular, does it make sense to have a car follow supplies while it is on the rail system. Finally, we will look at Gulfstream’s to the “just in time” manufacturing and its strategic approach to choosing locations.

Since 2001, Hydro-Quebec were doing oil exploration on Anticosti Island.Seven years later, they had found nothing. In 2008, Petrolia, a private petroleum producer, sign an agreement with Hydro-Quebec to continue the oil exploration and about the money that Quebec will receive if they find oil. Petrolia discovered for $75 billion of petroleum and Quebec will receive a small amount of $2.3 billion. Petrolia has the right to extract oil everywhere on the island except in the two national parks. Should we take the risk to break a fragile and unique ecosystem in order to gain money on a short-term? To answer this ethical question, we will look at positive effects and negative effects of extracting oil from different regions that had decided to go into the oil industry. Those regions are closely related to our case and we will finish off with the possible solutions that are offers to Anticosti.
Until recently, the Ford Motor Company has been one of the most dynastic of American enterprises, a factor which has both benefited the company and has brought it to the brink of disaster. Today Ford is the second largest manufacturer of automobiles and trucks in the world, and it’s operations are well diversified, both operationally and geographically. The company operates the worlds second largest finance company in the world, and is a major producer of tractors, glass and steel. It is most prominent in the US, but also has plants in Canada, Britain and Germany, and facilities in over 100 countries.

After a period of continuing growth, the stagnant sales growth of the automotive industry in the late 1970s led all car makers to start to look for methods to fit the new climate. With the purpose of using money on research and development more effectively, spreading the risk of making main components in greater volume, and accessing to new market which were hard to enter, more and more automobile producers reached to the conclusion of collaborating with others. In addition, to remain independent, joint venture seemed to be the best answer. (Campbell, Stonehouse & Houston 2002)

Far too many people opt out of recycling; therefore initiatives should not be solely voluntary. Landfills are becoming more full, and air pollution has reached such high levels that there needs to be government mandates to address these serious and on-going issues. Cities such as San Francisco, Pittsburg, San Diego, Seattle, New York, Philadelphia, Connecticut, Florida and Honolulu have enacted mandatory recycling laws mainly due to difficulties in land fillings and dispos...
When addressing this issue, it is necessary to discuss the cost of curbside recycling, which outweighs any economic gains. Second, it must be made known that the recycling process wastes more natural sources than it saves. For these three reasons --economic, environmental, and experiential—curbside recycling should ...
In some small town in the vastness of the United States, a midnight-black van is arriving, carrying curiously well-dressed passengers, who have only one goal; To make sure the Earth is maintained for the next generation, and people take responsibility for the waste and refuse their making right now. Somewhere in a sleepy town in the USA it’s recycling day.
Purpose: The main objective for my presentation is to show the audience what recycling is and how we can cut down on landfills.

Lots of people consider recycling to be kind of a no-brainer, something we all should do. It’s good for the environment, it re-uses materials rather than creates new ones, it reduces landfills -- the list goes on and on. But one major benefit that people often overlook is the impact recycling programs can have on a community.
