It all started sittin’ around the campfire at Apple Creek Whitetails Ranch. All hunters that come in and out of here talk about him. They have only seen him on trail cams though. He has been around for years it seems like. It is what makes the hunters keep getting up before the sun and going, and sittin’ in the cold. The story of Ole’ Spread Nasty is what everyone is talking about. It is said that Ole’ Spread Nasty has a 20 inch wide rack, and it is 18 points. The G2’s are 14 inches long, the G3’s are about 13 inches long, and the G4’s are about 12 inches long. All those tines are about two inches in diameter. I’m after a record breaking buck called Ole’ Spread Nasty. He is a big mature bruiser buck. It is the peak of rut, so this is my best chance to get’em. It is now about 5:15 a.m, and I’m headed out to the stand. I will see if we can call in the giant... Alright we are now in the stand and it is a beautiful morning. There is no wind and the temperature is perfect. It is just starting to get light out and we are starting to here some deer moving in the draw. It is now about 6:30 a.m and it is light enough to shoot. We are going to start calling and see what happens. Grunt...grunt...grunt...rattle...rattle...rattle. Here comes some little bucks. I’m hoping that Ole’ Spread Nasty is following them back there somewhere. There is some more movement just up the hill. I hope that is him. I’m going to grunt just a little more and maybe whatever is behind the bushes will come out. Grunt...grunt...grunt. Holy crap there he is, that is him! He is coming right towards me. I grabbed my bow and drew back. I am shaking like crazy right now. He is at 20 yards now I just need him broadside. Sure enough there he went, broadside. What a perfect shot. I calmed my shaking as much as I could and let the arrow fly. It was a perfect double lung shot. He took off and ran about 30 yards and dropped. I’m so happy right now. I thank the good Lord above for this opportunity! This is such a dream come true.
Kool-aid was invented by a man named Edwin Perkins He was born in the state of Iowa but he eventually went to live in Nebraska. At about 1927 he invented Kool-aid He was inspired by the drink Fruit smack, but because he wanted to lower the cost of shipping he removed all fluids from the drink. This dry powder eventually became Kool-aid. However Kool-aid did not always go by the same name It was originally Kool-Ade but because Ade refers to juice he had to change it tho the name it has today. Eventually Kool-aid got their own mascot the cool-aid man (He often broke through walls), They also had a comic with 7 issues, along with the Atari 2600 came the “Adventures of Kool-aid Man”. Kool-aid can still be bought today and has manny flavors
...sed the cross hairs on its chest and took a shot. The deer jumped straight up in the air and then started running right at me. I racked another shell in the chamber. At less than ten yards I took another shot. This time the deer did two somersaults and landed about seven feet from me. Excited I got up to take a look, the deer was definitely dead. He laid there on the ground in front of me with the nerves in his massive body still twitching. He was a nice ten point, this really made me happy because he was bigger than my brothers. My first shot had hit him in that shoulder, because I was probably shaking when I shot and this threw my shot off. My second shot went threw the neck and into the chest. After sitting and enjoying the moment I gutted him and drug him up to the house. This last season turned out to be my best ever because I was persistent and never gave up.
Boston wearable device startup Whoop, is going after “elite athletes and teams” with its next-generation wrist-worn strap, that measures a set of biometrics 24/7. The company’s technology is currently targeting professional players in major sports leagues, college athletes, Olympians, and even the U.S. military, but it could have wider appeal in the future.
In life everyone is going to have to go through struggles and trials, however in times of suffering, having a strong support system and faith can help get through anything. The book is Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. The book is about an Olympic athlete named Louie Zamperini, that joined the military. Louie is captured, and tortured by the Japanese after his military plane crashed. Louie and his fellow prisoners are then tasked with trying to survive the Japanese POW camps. What are the underlying themes of Unbroken? In Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand three themes that stand out in the story are faith, suffering, and friendship.
Our enemy was the Japanese, but when the war ended, it also had another story to it, and it was Louie, a survivor of the American army, and a survivor from a prisoner of war camp. Louie’s life was that he was an athlete in his childhood, and the one who made Louie into an athlete was Pete, his big brother in the family, which his brother was the one that encouraged Louie the most. When Louie was older, he joined the army, and when he joined, he was still running and practiced like an athlete. When Louie was growing up, he kept on changing his personalities, and was growing new traits as he learned from others, and had joy with loved ones too. In the book Unbroken, the author Laura Hillenbrand described Louie as
"When Curly was eleven years old, he killed his first buffalo [by shooting it] with four arrows while riding next to it in a fast chase," (Hook 13). When Curly was twelve, he and some other young Indians of his tribe went to chase horse...
On the night of October 1, 1910 at 1:07 a.m., the Los Angeles Times building in Los Angeles, California was attacked by two brothers, James B. McNamara (“J.B.”) and John J. McNamara (“J.J.”). J.B. left a suitcase of dynamite next to barrels of flammable printer ink in the “Ink Alley”, a narrow alley in between the main Times building and the Times annex. The dynamite had a detonator connected to a windup clock, which was set to explode at 1 a.m. He also left bombs, similar to those in the “Ink Alley”, that were also set to explode ay 1 a.m. next to Times publisher Harrison Gray Otis’ home and the secretary of MMA Felix Zeehandelaar’s home. The bomb went off at 1:07 a.m. outside the three-story Los Angeles Times Building, causing the side of
The waves crashed against the sandy beach of Crusty. Crusty was an island on the northside of ireland that rested quietly in the Celtic Sea. Crusty was quite known by the surrounding masses of land that held tribes of people. All of the different villages knew about crusty, from every angle you could see the big beautiful island and the lush forest that blanketed it. You could ask anyone about it and they’d all tell different stories of the island, each of the stories made their way down bloodlines from great, great grandparents to children and grandchildren. The stories all have their own twist on them that keep them from being exactly alike. But they all have one very important detail in common, crusty the island used to be host to one of
On a cloudless September afternoon, a hunter stands with a defeated look upon his face. He sighs in disappointment as he watches a bull run through the aspens. He is still shaking in excitement and frustration. He did everything he could, but the bull didn't live that long by being stupid. I had never had that type of rush before, even though I had been defeated I was hooked on bow hunting.
Buck being captured is just the start to kick in that transition into the wild. During this Buck is “jerked
John was clinging on to a rock for dear life and Buck had to try and save him. “[Buck] launched him into the stream. He struck out boldly, but not straight enough into the stream. He discovered the mistake too late... while he was being carried helplessly past....” Again the rope was attached and he was launched, and again he struck out, but this time straight into the stream. He had miscalculated once, but he would not be guilty of it a second time,” (London, Ch.6). When Buck first went in to save Thornton he failed, he couldn’t aim well enough. He had to change his approach, he had to adapt. He went perfectly straight the second time. He made it to Thornton and saved his life. He was intelligent and determined, he changed his methods and succeeded because of it. Buck would often leave and go into the forest for days at a time, hunting, stalking, being a true predator, a thing of the wild. “They [the men] saw him marching out of camp, but they did not see the instant and terrible transformation which took place as soon as he was within the secrecy of the forest. He no longer marched. At once he became a thing of the wild, stealing along softly, cat-footed, a passing shadow that appeared and disappeared among the shadows,” (London Ch.7). He had experienced. Buck was large, fierce and strong. He was the perfect beast. But he couldn’t catch prey like that. He had to be stealth, quiet and patient. Buck had to act in a certain way, learn to do things differently. And he did, he adapted and changed into the perfect hunter. Feared by man and critter alike, large or small. He learned to take anything
These men were not nice and would beat Buck and the other dogs very badly to let them

I was nearly finished with my cigarette when behind me I heard the sound of something moving through the grass. I quickly but quietly extinguished my cigarette in the palm of my gloved hand and turned around. My eyes scanned to see exactly where the sounds had come from, and I only hoped that the smell of my cigarette hadn't spooked whatever was walking behind me. After about ten seconds I saw the ears of a deer sticking up above the tall grass about thirty yards from me. I slowly reached to my right to remove my bow from a hook in the tree. The deer was now moving towards me through the long grass, and behind it was another deer. I knew that the rut (the peak mating season) was well under way and this second deer may be a buck. After what seemed like an eternity the second deer came into view. It was a buck, as I had thought, but it was bigger than any deer I had ever seen.
This resulted in retaliation and quarreling." And Buck was truly a red-eyed devil, as he drew himself together for the spring, hair bristling, mouth foaming, a mad glitter in his bloodshot eyes. Straight at the man he launched his one hundred and forty pounds of fury, surcharged with the pent passion of two days and nights. In mid-air, just as his jaws were about to close on the man, he received a shock that checked his body and brought his teeth together with an agonizing clip. He whirled over, fetching the ground on his back and side. He had never been struck by a club in his life, and did not understand. With a snarl that was part bark and more scream he was again on his feet and launched into the air. And again the shock came and he was brought crushingly to the ground. This time he was aware that it was the club, but His madness knew no caution. A dozen times he charged, and as often the club broke the charge and smashed him
