I am going to be writing about two poems "old man old man" and "warning". In old man, old man the poet U.A Fanthorpe relates old age to a loss of freedom e.g. a timetabled cigarette. The stanzas are always written in three lines in Old man old man. Old man old man is a very bad or negative view on old age as he is always talking about what he used to do "a dab hand with the black and Decker". He is an anonymous person who is totally explained in the title "old man old man" this emphasises his old age. As you get older, your body does not work as well for some as you start to have heart problems and lung problems and in "old man old man". He has to take pills but he does not like doing this and he fights from doing it "Recalcitrant things in bottles with tacky labels". He used to be independent "He was always a man who did it himself" and he still wants to be, but he has to take pills to stay alive. There are a few qualities of being old in the poem. If you are old like the anonymous man you do not have a worry in the world because you have no job you have to turn up to and nine o'clock or whenever. You have no business to run and all you have to worry about is to get the local paper every week and go shopping this is all that the have to worry about or something like that. The other story is Warning this is totally the opposite of "old man old man". Jenny Joseph who is not old yet "when I am old" has written a poem the stanzas are free stanzas and the poem is not stereo typical. There are also no set number of lines. Jenny Joseph Is longing to break out of the restricted life she lives as she lives a life of rules and she is not rude or does not do anything out of the ordinary. Jenny Joseph does not want to turn in to a boring old granny like most of them do. She says to her husband, "you can grow fatter and eat a lb of sausages and heaud bear mats and other stuff like that". She says that she will become a "rebel" "I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves summer gloves are trivelelous items (a luxury) When jenny thinks about being old she thinks of all the things that she can do and leave all of the bad things behind you, and do all of

The poem is written in the style of free verse. The poet chooses not to separate the poem into stanzas, but only by punctuation. There is no rhyme scheme or individual rhyme present in the poem. The poems structure creates a personal feel for the reader. The reader can personally experience what the narrator is feeling while she experiences stereotyping.
The world is filled with many different types of societies and cultures. This is due to the fact that many people share dissimilar beliefs and ideas, as well as diverse ways of life. People lived under different circumstances and stipulations, therefore forming cultures and societies with ideas they formulated, themselves. These two factors, society and culture, are what motivate people to execute the things that they do. Many times, however, society and culture can cause downgrading effects to an assemblage if ever it is corrupt or prejudiced. Society and culture not only influences the emotions individuals have toward things like age differences, religion, power, and equality but also the actions they perform as a result.
“A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings”:Gabriel Garcia- Marquez story “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings”, written in 1955, is about a family harboring what is thought to be a fallen old “angel man”, initially thought to be on his way to take their ailing child away. The angel must have been coming for the child, but the poor fellow is so old that the rain knocked him down (Marquez, 1955). The family not knowing how to treat the situation embarks on a journey of mixed emotions of whether the man is good or evil, strange creature or angel. We will journey down the road of evaluation of the magical realism within this story.

A lot of things seem to change as we age. Our perception of things and how we tend to view life naturally changes. Also, we are bound to change physically. A transition from youthful days to the old age days will definitely leave us weaker than we used to. This can be attributed to the loss of bone mass after the age of 30. Both men and women will reach their maximum bone mass at this age after which it will be a matter of maintaining it.
“When You Are Old” is about Maud Gonne, an Irish nationalist who William Butler Yeats was infatuated with and his unrequited love for her. In the poem, Maud Gonne is reflecting on past loves and relationships. She realizes that Yeats was her only companion who loved her unconditionally. Many loved her, or said they did, but not in every respect like Yeats. Perhaps if her realization were sooner, Yeats would have married her.
She values honesty in communication and she possesses the ability to be brutally honest with someone. She will come up to me and tell me her opinion if she believes that it might benefit me in some way. Another one of her values is appearance or beauty. She will spend hours picking the perfect outfit and doing her hair and makeup to perfection. She wakes up almost two hours earlier every day before school so that she will have enough time to get ready. Some people might think that she is conceited because of the focus on her looks, but she values the time that people put into their appearance as a reflection of their dedication. Her dedication to her appearance is something that she greatly values making her deserving of praise. How many other people could do what she does? Her passion and dedication is unrivaled by any other when it comes to her looks. She believes in the fact that one should always look one’s best and she puts in the effort every day regardless of any extemporaneous situations that might

In one interview Ms. Angelou was asked in what way does she handle people's reactions to old age, Ms. Angelou replied with,” the final verse of her poem on Aging, I'm the same person I was back then A little less hair a little less chin, a lot less lung, and much less wind, but ain’t I lucky I can still breathe in" (Younger, G. et al.,
Some of the physical changes that occur to the individual affect their health. As a result, the person may have some health issues. Sometimes, pharmaceutical interventions are necessary to maintain their health. However, many times the use of many medications, the time when to take them, and which food inhibit the absorption of the drugs become confusing for the elderly people. (The confusion about medications can happen to young and middle age people too!). As a result, someone may need to assist them
