The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa, the African

Equiano begins his story of his life by exposing journalist for their selfish writings that are used to expose others, but keep their image clean. Furthermore, people expect life stories to have emotional even, as if they are to be entertaining and exciting. Equiano states that he is "neither a saint, a hero, nor a tyrant;" he is lucky to be on the good side with the Lord, in which he feel have blessed him throughout his life whole life. He prays that his work will help free his enslaved peers, even if the job is not too amusing.
Equiano was born in a small city called Eboe, which is now Nigeria, in 1745. When he was young, Equiano was kidnapped into slavery. Later, he was sold to another slave owner, Henry Pascal, who owned a slave ship. Equiano was a servant for Henry and other British vessels that traveled through at the time. …show more content…

Some citizens were brokers, or traders. They brought in weapons, food, clothes, etc. They also brought in slaves and hope to make a profit from some, but their slaves weren’t just anyone. They only trade slaves who were prisoners from war or criminals going to jail. The kingdom also consists of dancers, musicians, and other celebration performances. Their dances also reflected on a real life situation, for example, domestic employment, playing a sport, or maybe even a tragic story. Equiano travels with Henry were described as the ‘Middle Passage’ -set sail from Europe to North America. He describes all the harsh conditions and brutal punishments slaves went through. He accompanied on this one crazy slave voyages, and traveled through multiple countries. Equiano watched all these captured Europeans and Africans, who were kidnapped and captured, onboard the ship in the West Indies and get sold into slavery. He stayed with the Dutch ship.
