One of the most joyful things in life is to get together with friends and family, but for me is to actually have a beer with them. Something in which I have come to appreciate and love is the variety of beer tasting around the globe. I have travel to different countries and states around South America just to taste their local beers and enjoy the unique landscapes. The fact that Oktoberfest is about having fun with one’s friends and family, enjoying the national music, beer tasting, and Germany culture plays out a beautiful tune to one’s delightful life.
I was surprised on how easily it is to navigate through the HOFBRÄUHAUS website. I am not sure if many of us got to watch the latest video about the 500 years’ history, but one interesting
fact about the beer law in Germany is that it can only be made with barley, hops, and water. I must confess that now I have a better understanding as to my questioning from the first time when I had a German beer. I remember as if it was yesterday and I carry on with me to this day. It can be quite intriguing that German beer tends to be made with barley, hops, and water only. The barley can also help a person remain conscious and well-being while they drink, meanwhile, the water keeps the person well-hydrated.
The company launched an initiative collaborating with the “Lyft”, which will provide free rides for drunk customers [8]. This indicates the amount of dedication the company has towards its customers. It also provides tours to customers across the 12 flagship breweries in the United States [9] and would also help customers with samplers. Any company that values its customers would become a great success and Anheuser Busch has proved this again. It also values its employees making sure every one of them feels like an owner and everybody would work as considering the results to be personal [10]. All these put together has helped the ANHEUSER BUSCH to brew beers that are loved by their customers and in making it the leader of its domain of
Belgium is known for a culture of high-quality beer and this concept was formulated by an electrical engineer from Fort Collins, Colorado. The electrical engineer, Jeff Lebesch, was traveling through Belgium on his fat-tired mountain bike when he envisioned the same high-quality beer in Colorado. Lebesch acquired the special strain of yeast used in Belgium and took it back to his basement in Colorado and the experimentation process was initiated. His friends were the samplers and when they approved the beer it was marketed. In 1991, Lebesch opened the New Belgium Brewing Company (NBB) with his wife, Kim Jordan, as the marketing director. The first beer and continued bestseller, Fat Tire Amber Ale, was named after the bike ride in Belgium. The operation went from a basement to an old railroad depot and then expanded into a custom-built facility in 1995. The custom-built facility included an automatic brew house, quality-assurance labs and technological innovations. NBB offers permanent, seasonal and one-time only beers with a mission to be a lucrative brewery while making their love and talent visible. In the cases presented by the noted authors (Ferrell & Simpson, 2008), discusses the inception, marketing strategy, brand personality, ethics and social responsibility that New Belgium Brewing Company has demonstrated. The key facts with New Belgium Brewing Company are the marketing strategy, promotion, internal environment and social responsibility with the critical issues of the public, brand slogan, growth and competition.
The fair was also the way Pabst Blue Ribbon beer claimed the title as the best beer in the world. Although the beer exist long before the fair, the publicity it earned at the fair allowed it to reach stardom and to be recognized by all.
I chose Akbar the Mughal Emperor, Procopius, and Thomas Aquinas as my three to attend a dinner party. I knew I wanted to write about knowledge. Originally, I wanted to include the Queen of Sheba as a member of the dinner party, but I questioned whether I would be able to include enough about this character. My first choice was Thomas Aquinas, because he focused on reason as a way to acquire knowledge. This means that knowledge is internal for him. One section in the Summa Theologica is the “Gift of Knowledge”. I also wanted to play with Aquinas’ writing style. I chose Akbar because he invited so many diverse scholars to speak about a wide array of topics. I use his character to discuss the ways we use knowledge. My final choice was Procopius. I chose Procopius instead of the Queen of Sheba, so I could bring up how we present our knowledge and how our knowledge evolves. Procopius wrote The Secret History and the History of the Wars. These works have alternate views of Justinian, that evolved with events during that time period. My goal is to find a conclusion from these about the value of knowledge, how knowledge is used, and how knowledge is presented.
When someone hears, “New Orleans,” they immediately think of Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is a tradition that can survive, and thrive, no matter what the circumstances. Take, for example, after Hurricane Katrina hit the city, there was much argument as to whether or not to even have the celebration, but many of the citizens were in favor of it, with one of them saying, “it’s what New Orleans spirit is all about,” (Mitchell, 791). Among those who were in favor of keeping with traditions after the decimation of their city were The Mardi Gras Indians. A group of people who wish to pay homage to their ancestors, they dress up in ceremonial garb and parade around the city. The Mardi Gras Indians are an important part of not only the Mardi Gras celebrations, though, they also play a part in New Orleanian culture as a whole, as exemplified by the study of social, economic, and cultural patterns that are closely associated with them.
The first Thanksgiving happened in 1621 by the Plymouth colonists and Wamponoag Indian. In the first Thanksgiving they only ate Venison,Indian Corn,Fowl, and Barley.Yes turkey was NOT on the menu suprisingly. Also their was no pumpkin pie or potatoes because they weren't introduced yet. They did have cranberries, but they didn't eat them as a sauce. It wasn't until 1789 that George Washington declared Thanksgiving a National Holiday which meant it didn't become a Holiday til the 19th century. It wasn't til the Civil War president Abraham Lincoln made Thanksgiving something to celebrate every
The Chicago World Fair of 1893 was a very important event in American history and culture. The effects of the fair would last even till today. It influenced the American people to reevaluate their own cities. The fair also contributed to the pride of the American people not to mention those in Chicago. Daniel Burnham along with his partner John Root, whom later dies, is given the responsibility of constructing the Chicago World Fair. John Root is actually the architectural genius between the pair and dies before construction barely gets underway. Burnham is motivated by his pride and determination in order to actually get the job done.

Passover is a widely celebrated blessed religious holidays of Jewish faith, deriving its base from an historic event of the biblical account of exodus, when the Israelites were freed from slavery in antique Egypt. This holiday normally starts on the 15th day of the Jewish month of Nisan, as well as culminates on 22nd day of the same month. After Israelites migration to Egypt they were subjected to slavery and status of a second class citizens for a good amount of time. Israelites were tired of their slavery and prayed to God for their release from the bondage. Their prayers paid off and God sent Moses to the Pharaoh with a message directing the release of the Israelites from bondage so that they can worship and work for Him as their God. Despite of the repeated directive the Pharaoh neglected the God’s message, and refuse to release the Israelites. Their refusal invoked the curse of God, and God responded them with ten harmful

While we consider Pioneer Day, we should take the time to ponder the lives of these brave saints, read stories of our pioneer ancestors, and learn about how they lived.
Thanksgiving has been a quintessential American holiday for centuries. A day to be grateful for anything or everything. To some people Thanksgiving is a feast to thank God for prosperity, to others it’s a day spent with family, football, and food, but collectively it is a day that unifies people in gratitude. What I enjoy the most about Thanksgiving is that it’s not a holiday dedicated to a religion or to a certain way of life; it’s simply a day to be thankful, no handbook or rules to follow. It’s a day to reserve judgement and just be grateful that the fall air has pierced your lungs again. Honestly I think as the 21st century progresses we lose a bit of something when it comes to Thanksgiving. Black Friday has cast a shadow over the
