Of Kings and Prophets is a new ABC tv show base on the story of the biblical king David. This time around, it has historical accuracy to its name which means the time that story could have actually happened during ,it is shown as a part of the story. Unlike, what occurred with the NBC show called Kings which feature a modern setting to the whole story which the show tried to loosely base it on. That take on the show lasted one season. We get a glimpse of how they present the character David in the first scenes of the show.

He is someone who takes responsibility for his actions and inactions. This occurs when a lion gets his flock when he has the job of keeping the flock safe. He does that by not having his father faces the possibility of flocking happening because of the tax collectors for not paying his taxes. Which he can not do because of the lion. That more people will come to watch the show because of the character David. A few more things that draw viewers to this show. One being that show has the whole setting of it being filled with battles going on. Exactly like it said to be with the setting in the bible story of David. It also has Goliath features as the general to the Philistines who like in the bible story David will eventually face. He is not presented as a giant, but they do show him as a big man. To add to what else is happening in the show, David also manages to kill the lion with the slingshot. That is the weapon that he will use to kill Goliath. I believe, removing that from the storyline would been a bad move. Keeping it, had made the story be pretty close to what said to happen in the story of David and Goliath. I saw a press release that show the epic meeting of David and Goliath will happen shortly after this
