Once upon a time a beautiful girl sat on the floor in the school library and read Romeo and Juliet, which happened to be one of her favorite works of literature. This girl’s name was Octavia, and even though she was quite short, she Was louder than anyone else in her grade. Cassandra Clare, author of the best-selling novel City of Bones, once wrote, “To love is to destroy, and to be loved is to be the one destroyed”. As an author of a series of young adult books, Clare wishes to send a message to adolescent readers regarding the destruction that young, passionate love can lead to. A similar theme is explored in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, where two adolescents from feuding families fall in love with one another. When they first see each other on the night of the Capulet party, they quickly fall in love and are soon married by Romeo’s friend and mentor, Friar Lawrence. Their love, being full of passion in its quick course, faces many trials such as Romeo’s banishment from their hometown of Verona, as well as Juliet being forced to marry Paris, kinsman of the Prince. The affection they feel for one another, being all consuming, often leads them to want to sacrifice everything for each other, including their own lives. Their self-destructive, rushed love ends with their deaths, occurring just a multiple days after they first met. In William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, many characters such as Friar Lawrence, Romeo, and Juliet illustrate that young, passionate love is a powerful force that leads to destruction.

When Wyatt Martin was fourteen years old he, thought that he found his true love. Much like Juliet, he was young and crazy, the first time he saw her, his heart started beating rapidly like he just drank one thousand energy drinks. My view was blurred and all he saw was this beautiful girl. It was like he was on cloud nine, flying high above the world. As dozens of baby unicorns pulling me as he stared down in awe. The following essay is about the story of Romeo and Juliet relates greatly to a love tragedy that resembles my life. In both cases each couple wants to do all they can to be together. Both of the lovenirds that thought they were in true love, Romeo and Juliet and Wyatt and his Princess were blinded by each other’s love thinking they found their true love. Sadly, both relationships failed because of their immaturity and their hormones going crazy at such a young age. Therefore, Romeo and Juliet’s relationship failed due to their outraging hormones.

These timeless tales tell the story of true love, and also the loss of death. “Romeo and Juliet” can compare to “Pyramus and Thisbe” for three reasons; the lovers come from disagreeing families, the tales are both tragedy, and they are based on misconception and ill-timing. Although these stories are painful, they are also true to human nature, and that is why they are so similar.

For this project, I chose to represent Juliet. I used a variety of components to express what I think Juliet’s mask would have looked like at her father’s party. My overall perspective of Juliet is a beautiful young girl who has an awful attitude and was raised to get whatever she wanted. On my mask, I incorporated three different colours to represent crucial details about Juliet. The white background on the mask serves as Juliet being a bride in a white dress.
You have crowds of kids on the dance floor dancing to the blasting music, all in their formal attire. Juliet a young and innocent girl at only fourteen years old, stands over in the corner alone humming to the music. As Juliet is standing there she sees a boy crossing the dance floor in her directs. She notices that he's pretty cute. They have a quick interaction while Juliet stands there nervously tucking her hair behind her ear. Romeo approaches Juliet and holds her hand. She's confused at first why this young man is talking to her as well as touching her, but this makes Juliet more curious about him. Romeo tells Juliet that he wants to kiss her then he does. She is instantly in love with this boy, but he leaves and disappears. Juliet talks to Nurse to try and figure out who he is. Juliet sends Nurse to figure out his name. Being Juliet's first crush she falls instantly not knowing how this will end up. Once Nurse tells her who he is, she is heartbroken since being in two popularity groups they are not suppose to socialize without being bullied. A young girl is in the school library. She goes to the library because she feels that the environment there is peaceful and tranquil, perfect for studying. She sits there silently at one of the many tables fully engulfed in the book that she’s reading. Nothing in the room disrupts her. The sound of pages being flipped at the table to her left doesn’t bother her.
