This Ocean energy is found around the world. 70% of the oceans surface is covered in water. According to alternative-energy-news website “Ocean energy is recovered when the wave power farm operates on the wave energy that is created when a float/ buoy flows with the natural movement of the waves.” The equipment needed is a very big buoyant crafted buoy, a long reliable cable wire and a heavy weight so the buoy does not float away and ruin your research. “The concept is simple”, says John Lienhard, a University of Houston mechanical engineering professor: “Every day the moon’s gravitational pull lifts countless tons of water up into, say, the East River or the Bay of Fundy. When that water flows back out to sea, its energy dissipates and, if we don’t use it, it’s simply spent.” The stronger the waves the more energy can be taken from it to power our world. We as humans use and waste this energy doing everyday work. Yes, you do need special equipment for processing wave energy from the ocean, main thing you need is a buoyant buoy to throw into the ocean and weigh it down with one solid weight, so you don’t lose almost 3 million dollars.
Our energy sources is formed when the tidal energy is produced through the use of generators in the ocean. The generators are large under water turbines that are placed in areas with the highest tidal energy. The turbines’ job is to take in the kinetic motion of the withdraw and flow of the ocean's tides (shallow water) to get electricity. The tidal turbines are best used for shallow waters, because it is stronger than and most stable than casting it into the ocean where you would have to check on it everyday in almost deadly weather. They help because turbines rotates slowly so ships and passing ani...

...ards fuel and on going operation that represent upwards of 80% of the plant’s cost of energy. The greater availability of wave energy in areas means that devices will be able to absorb more energy and convert that to power at a greater rate that devices in areas with low wave energy density. Ocean power technologies will to live initially in areas with wave energy density.” As you read this excerpt from the website what are your opinions. Early-stage prototype government backed funding.
We can conserve ocean energy by not polluting the ocean, save energy (use less lights and electricity). We can also conserve other natural energies. Ways to conserve energy would be: walking, biking, carpooling, using the mass transit. You can turn your refrigerator down, wash clothes in warm or cold water, turn down water heater, and the big thing we can do is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Usually, if there is a problem, there is most likely a solution or something that helps fix the problem a bit. There is so many different ways to help, but i'm only going to give a few. Use public transportation or invest in a electric car or carpool. Buy some non-toxic ecofriendly fertilizer, update sewer and water treatment, recycle as much as possible, cut up the six pack rings, pick up litter, buy products with little to no plastic packaging, don't wear sunscreen, donate to organizations that help the ocean, don't buy products that are harmful to the ocean after use, ect. The ocean is so important to our culture ans society and helps us in many ways, we should keep the ocean as beautiful as it was before we started to pollute
Amusement parks containing orcas had been a beloved family destination since 1959. That is, until recently. The release of the documentary following the lives of the captive orcas, Blackfish, in 2013 opened the world’s eyes to the horrors hidden behind the theatrical orca shows. The documentary raised the question if orcas should really be held in captivity after showing what lies below the surface. Although there has been substantial efforts to help protect the killer whales from leading lives in captivity, many people still remain uninformed. We hope with our project, that we can educate and inspire others to take action against this captivity.
In recent times it has been well documented and reported that the way in which retailing is changing. Alongside the former methods of ‘’bricks and mortar’’ stores, modern day retailers must now ensure that their goods and services are available by means of various streams, including websites and mobile apps. (Benady, D. 2014) But it is not only retailing which have changed; the consumer is becoming savvier and increasingly sophisticated. Consumers are expecting more from retailers and now expect a ‘’seamless shopping experience’’ however way in which they may interact with the retailer. (Benady, D. 2014)
For my movie analysis, I chose to watch Oceans Eleven. This movie had been recommended to me by a friend previously so I decided this assignment would be the perfect opportunity to watch it. The whole plot revolves around a group of men who become a part of a plan to rob the three most profitable casinos in Las Vegas. Initially, it is Danny Ocean who comes up with the idea.
Tidal Lagoons position i. Tidal lagoon is an innovative approach worth considering. We welcome opportunity’s exploration, working closely with Tidal Lagoon Power to investigate the benefits and identify the risks present with this kind of project. Similarly to tidal range, lagoons use hydropower turbine technology to produce renewable energy from tides’ movement, whilst maintaining the environmental impacts within acceptable limits. ii.
Oceans are such so vast that people underestimate the impact their actions —seeming so insignificant— have on them. Humans have by and large taken the oceans for granted; not considering how important a healthy ocean is to our survival. A popular mind-set is that the oceans are a bottomless supply of fish, natural resources, and an infinite waste dump. There are myriad reasons why the oceans should be saved and the most obvious one is marine life. With 71% of the Earth being covered by water, it is obvious that sea creatures are predominant form of life, making up 80% of the species of life on Earth. However, as important as marine life is, that is not the only reason why saving the oceans is crucial. The ocean floor provides natural resources such as, oil, natural gas, petroleum, minerals, medications, and ingredients for foods and products. The economic benefits of the oceans are huge and significant, as well. Fishing and fish products have provided employment to 38 million people and have generated about $124 billion in economic benefits. However, oceans are on the verge of crisis, marine life, natural resources, transportation, the economy, and important ingredients are at risk due to overfishing, pollution, and acidification. Thus, in this essay I will argue that, oceans are not impervious to human activity and threatening the health of the ocean threatens the health of humanity, since oceans key to our survival.
Long gestation time It takes a long time for planned tidal energy plants to be constructed and to get them running. Such a long gestation period, along with the high costs of construction, may not be considered worth the investment compared with other renewable energy projects such as wind and solar energy. Distance from the grid In many cases, the energy generated by the tides is a long distance from where the electricity will be consumed inland. This makes it difficult for tidal energy to provide electricity for any communities but those that are in close proximity to coastlines.
The first type of renewable energy is hydroelectric energy or well known as hydropower. In greek word, hydro means water and thus hydroelectric energy refers to electricity generated using flowing water at high velocity. Lutgens and Tarbuck (1992, p. 163) stated that “running water is of great importance to people as we depend upon rivers for energy, travel and irrigation”. Continuous availability of water in universe made water to be the main source of hydroelectric energy. Water has been widely utilized by mankind since the beginning of civilization and wate...
People can also reduce the use of fossil fuels by doing simple things for instance switching off lights and appliances when leaving the room. Walking or cycling instead of driving a car or use public transport for maybe longer journeys. Little things like this will make a big difference, making our planet a better place.
Wind turbines are a great source of energy around the world. Wind turbines produce wind energy that can be used to power our homes. Wind turbines convert kinetic energy into mechanical power. Then this mechanical power gets generated into electricity. Wind turbines make energy by the wind turning the large blades, which spin a shaft that is connected to the large blades, which then operates the generator making electricity.

The cheapest way to generate electricity, today, is hydropower. The reason for that is, once a dam has been constructed and equipment installed, the source of the energy is free. It is a fuel source that is renewable because of things like snow and rainfall. Engineers may control the water flow on demand.
Why do we need to rely on renewable sources? Most of the energy that we use today come from fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, and oil. All of these resources are non-renewable, it can finish one day. In order to have a better world and a healthy environment for the future, people are trying to obtain energy from natural resources instead of non-renewable sources. In the lecture “Renewable energy resources” (2014), Mistry focuses on some advantages and disadvantages of renewable energy. There are different kind of resources that we can use in order to produce renewable energy. Solar power, wind power, hydroelectric power are just some of the kinds of renewable energy that might be the best options to obtain energy because they come from
Hydroelectricity is a known renewable energy resource that provides substantial benefits for our wealth, our health, and for our global economy. There are five types of renewable energy we can use on a daily basis throughout our lives, but the most widely installed form of renewable energy is hydroelectricity. Hydroelectricity is electricity created by converting the kinetic energy of flowing water. Best thing about this source of energy is that it’s timeless and renewable, which means it will never run out, however we had to figure ways to store this energy. In order for them to harness this energy for other people, they had to build generators that convert all the potential energy of rapid moving water into electrical energy.
