For my movie analysis, I chose to watch Oceans Eleven. This movie had been recommended to me by a friend previously so I decided this assignment would be the perfect opportunity to watch it. The whole plot revolves around a group of men who become a part of a plan to rob the three most profitable casinos in Las Vegas. Initially, it is Danny Ocean who comes up with the idea. When he first meets "Rusty Ryan", there is some primary tension. Ryan casually asks Danny what he does for a living if he doesn't mind him asking. Ocean replies "I do mind you asking" and explains how he just got out of jail. This is an awkward encounter because that was not the response Ryan had been expecting. At first, Ryan is reluctant and asks why they should follow through with the plan to which Danny …show more content…
Later on, Ruben agrees to help them. Eventually, the two men make up a group of guys with various skills, such as an acrobat and a surveillance tape operator. They all go to Las Vegas weeks before the planned robbery in order to prepare. Danny Ocean explains the plan in front of the whole group and provides a visual representation of the vaults they are going to rob. They even go as far as to construct a fake vault to rob for practice. At one point, someone from the group raises their hand and asks if they are able to steal the money, are they just supposed to walk out with getting stopped? Danny Ocean replies yes. This is an example of an ambiguity in the formation phase. Their plan was well thought out, but the fact that it lacked some details caused some problems to arise later on. Some secondary tension occurs when Danny asks Saul, a member of the group, if he's sure he's ready to go through with the robbery and he gets defensive and goes as far as to threaten him. Ryan later learns of Danny's motive behind the
The historical fictional novel, Salt to the Sea, by Ruta Sepetys, takes four main characters, Florian, Joana, Alfred, and Emilia, on one shocking adventure to get onto the ship, the Wilhelm Gustloff, to escape the war that’s hunting them throughout Germany. They encounter death, happiness, and tragedy, which brings them closer. Their lives intervene as they learn to forget their past and get a fresh start. One theme that is learned by the characters is that honesty bonds people together and builds trust, while lies ruin that trust.
In "Ocean’s Eleven" Steven Soderbergh made an incredible showing as an executive in keeping the crowd intrigued all around the entire motion picture time. Way objective hypothesis of pioneer adequacy might be effectively connected to the motion picture. The way objective hypothesis by Robert House states that the pioneer can influence bunch's execution, fulfillment and inspiration by offering prizes for accomplishing objectives, clearing up ways towards these objectives and evacuating hindrances to execution. In the wake of being discharged from jail, Danny Ocean (Clooney) discovers that Las Vegas kingpin Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia) is seeing his ex Tess (Julia Roberts). Danny sets up an objective to take millions from Terry and his ex back. At that point he imparts the "very lucrative and exceedingly risky" plan with old companion Rusty (Brad Pitt) – to thump off the vault of the Bellagio Hotel, which blankets the MGM Grand and the Mirage too, throughout the night of a huge battle to the tune of about $150 million. As stated by House's hypothesis, what pioneer can do is influenced by situational elements – nature's domain and subordinates identity. The incredible situational element that brought about Danny to think about gambling joint burglary was heavyweight-enclosing title venue in Las Vegas. Danny and Rusty (the pioneer and co-pioneer) cannot pull this off alone so they discover the group (the supporters) they will require for making "Ocean’s Eleven." Each colleague chose has distinctive abilities and capacities, and consequently just staying together, they will have the ability to attain the regular objective. Other colleagues that underpinned Danny in his arrangement were Linus Caldwell, Basher Tarr, Livingston...
Danny then decides for Sandy to notice him that he needs to become athletic, so he starts try...
I’m applying to SEA Semester, because I love the ocean. It’s been my dream from a young age to learn to sail and live on a ship. I’m from Aroostook County in Northern Maine, which is five hours away from the ocean. Every summer my parents would make sure I got to the ocean at least once, and I’ve romanticized it since I can remember. Since coming to Bowdoin, I’ve always spent my weekends biking and driving to the ocean, because it’s become a place for me to think clearly and escape the fast-paced life of a college student. The ocean has developed into my happy place, which is why I want to study it and understand how humans are impacting it. I want my undergraduate studies to give me the knowledge needed to protect our oceans in the future, and to be able to conduct research to expand our knowledge of the ocean. To be able to live on a tall ship and continue my studies of the ocean is my dream.
The idea was all started by Joseph Mcginnis. He was a key figure in the Boston underworld, and ran a very successful bar. The second main figure in the robbery was Anthony Pino. Pino was a good friend of Mcginnis, and was another prominent figure in the Boston underworld. Although big figures the two weren’t known to participate in big bank heists like this, especially without some typical strong men for the job. That’s where Joseph O’Keefe, and Stanley Gusciora come into play. Known to fill this role in big heists these two were probably the most notable in the whole brinks crew. O’Keefe was known to have a temper, and be willing to do anything for a good amount of money, and Gusciora was always close behind his friend. These two were the ones who had access to all of the tools needed for the heist. Vincent Costa was Pino’s brother in law who happened to also have a long history in the crime world. Pino of course took this opportunity for another member of the team. Henry Baker had just been released from jail, and was on parole at the time of committing the crime. He only came up as a suspect after he was giving a lot of money trying to get O’Keefe, and Gusciora out of jail. Adolf Maffie was another unlucky member of the team, who ended up being caught when donating money to trying to get Gusciora, and O’Keefe out of

Fischer said, “ I got a letter in the mail that said I was not worth anything if I was dead. So why do you threaten to kill me? I am not going to give up this easy!” Mr. Fischer hollered at William to shoot him. William shot him and killed him and then they all ran into the house. When they got in the house they saw two men, and Keaton and Brock each killed one and then they heard one more guy in the back room. They got to the back room and the last guy said, “Please do not shoot, I got a message from Mr. Cooper to deliver to you!” The man said, “This message I am supposed to deliver is saying that you have killed all his men, and now he wants to meet in person. He is waiting in town behind the bar if you want to go and meet him, but I am supposed to ride
After getting down in the caves and figuring out the traps and facing danger at several turns, the gang reaches a pool of water. They hear Troy and his boys talking above them. Everyone is cold and ready to go home. Mikey does not want to give up. He knew that if Troy pulled them up that there was no chance to save their homes. As Andy was getting ready to ride up the bucket Mikey makes a speech that motivates the gang to continue with their adventure. “Don’t you realize? The next time you see sky, it’ll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it’ll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best of stuff for us. But right now, they got to do what’s right for them. Because it’s their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it’s our time. It’s our time down here. That’s all over the second we ride up Troy’s bucket.” This speech kept the adventure

He needs a right-hand man to help plan, a financier, an inside man, drivers, explosives experts, and a pickpocket. Much of the tension in the film comes from questions about Danny’s real motives for carrying out the robbery, and the team’s reactions when they find out it is not a simple robbery at all. The robbery itself requires the team to put together an exact replica of the casino vault they intend to rob, and practice the complicated process of both robbing the vault and getting away with it. Once the vault has been robbed, Danny confronts Terry in an attempt to get his wife back. In the end, he does, but it is a long process.

Apollo 11 and the Moon Landing Luke Huffman APUSH Period 6 May 8, 2016.
