What I would consider my biggest success so far in my life was also one of the biggest challenges I have been faced with. Obtaining my CNA certification has been my greatest success yet. I put this success above others because it’s a direct step toward becoming an RN, which is my main priority in life right now. Getting this certification all started when I decided I wanted to be a nurse, one day when I was very young. What followed that was the actual process of obtaining it, and then all the benefits that came with it.
Different aspects of my life factor into what made me want to obtain my CNA certification in the first place. The biggest reason I got certified is because working as a CNA is the best possible job to have when you’re looking to one day become a nurse. I got it at the United Technologies Center where my classmates and I spent a year through ups and the downs earning our certifications together. It took a lot of studying and a lot of extra time on top of all of my regular classes to get the grade I earned in that class. There is more information you need to obtain as a CNA than I ever imagined. In order to receive a certification in this class I had to complete hours of clinicals, I think it was about 75. Clinicals were rough. I had to go to a nursing home one to two times a week and do the nurses grunt work. Clinicals overall were pretty dreadful, but this was work I had to get used to and I powered through it. The final exam at the end of the year is what determined whether I got my certification or not. It was a standardized test that everyone statewide had to take.
