The personality disorder that I choose to compare to the definition of health that I mentioned in reflection paper one was under the category of anxious personality disorders. Individuals with obsessive-compulsive personality disorder are usually preoccupied with order, control, and perfection that they lose all sense of productivity and openness. An individual with this personality disorder can be rigid in determining their morals, beliefs, values, and ethics and reluctant to make a final decision because it may not be the right one. Individuals set challenging standards for others and themselves, which can cause them to be unwilling to work with others because they are persuaded that others are careless and unable to do their job correctly. …show more content…

The original definition of health that was stated in a previous reflection was a balance of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. However, we are human beings, meaning that at times not all these categories will be completely balanced which is okay because it is saying that some sections of our health will be stronger than others at times. Overall, it is essential that individuals include how we were created to have an everlasting relationship with our creator, each other, ourselves, and the environment or world around us. From this definition of health, it is easy to see how people with obsessive-compulsive personality can be compared to it both in a negative and positive aspect. Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder differs from my definition of health because these individuals will never have a balance of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and it would be hard to work on getting to an even ground of all three categories. Since individuals with this diagnosis rarely ask for help, it would be hard to know when someone is struggling to care for their health and at what point something needs to be done. However, I would not consider individuals with a personality completely healthy, which no one is, but they have the potential to strive to become healthier and improve what they can change about their life. The reasons I would consider obsessive-compulsive personality disorder as being similar to my definition of health is because as an individual they are still made in the image of God and have the potential to become physical, emotional beings capable of a relationship. Although a person with OCPD is unwilling to ask for help and unable to trust others, I believe that with the help of those around them, an individual could achieve a positive relationship with their healthy state of mind. An individual can still have good physical health when diagnosed with this personality disorder because they are still able to carry out specific tasks in their life and accomplish things promptly because of the high standards they set for themselves. Also, individuals can take care of their physical body and allow them to be productive and accomplish activities. However, it could lead to possible exhaustion which would differ with the definition of health that is provided. Depending on the individual, they may be able to balance a healthy state of
