Obsession With Technology Research Paper

What are the best things about technology? The programs we can run? The information we can receive from others? The way we can communicate with friends and loved ones? Or maybe because everything we use today has some sort of technology in it. That question, is what sparked my obsession with technology and what it can do. Everything has some sort of technology in it. Including what everyone does at their jobs and what everyone uses at home or on the road.

Computers are what we use everyday. Some of the history goes back to ancient Greece where they have found the Antikythera Mechanism in an old shipwreck. The computer was able to predict where the sun and moon were going to be at a certain date. It could even predict eclipses. In fact the replica predicted the eclipse on August 7ᵗʰ in 2017. Other then history we have the future of computers. Computers will get faster and more complex as the years go on. The supercomputers that scientists use to find information take up whole rooms but someday we believe they will be in your house or even in the palm of your hand. The future is amazing as we see the technology growing.

Engineers and engineering in general is incredible. Engineers create the cars we drive or the phones in our pockets. They even design technology we never see. I aspire to one day become a mechanical engineer. I am in classes that help me get to that goal and have taught me a lot about the technology engineers use to design and test concepts. I am in Intro to Engineering Design. In the class we use the program Autodesk Inventor and are learning the functions and limitations of the program. This allows us to start designing on our own and create prototypes that work in real life. We use laser cutters, CNC machines, and even 3D printers to test what we have created.
