Observing Child #1 For observing child #1 the whole class watched the video of Kingston. In the first video Kingston was in a exersaucer that had toys all around it on the top. He was wearing a white onesie that had black writing on the front of it. Kingston has short hair that just touches the ears and barely riches the top of her neck it looks like a like blonde/light brown color. He wasn’t a chunky baby he looked like he was in a healthy shape looked to be around 3 or 4 months old. In the beginning of the video Kingston was just standing there wobbling back in forth in the exersaucer. There was toys attached to the exersaucer and he would play with them then towards the end he was playing with a toy to his right and was leaning over

For less than two hours, I observed the grandson of a visitor at my aunt’s home.
My virtual child’s name is Dominic. He is a white male of average height and weight with blonde hair, green eyes and pale skin. Cognitively he seems younger than his chronological age up until sixth grade. Physically Dominic has always seemed older than his chronological age. The first few months of Dominic’s life were rough at times. I decided from the beginning to feed with formula, and I would respond to different types of cries. At three months he would cry after each bottle and have frequent diarrhea, we then decided to switch to a different formula rather than introducing food (My Virtual Child).
The environment in which an infant is raise, has to do a lot with his/her development. I was surprise by this observation because there were different personalities. Loui was the child who interact more with the students in the classroom. Also, he was surprise of the things that he was able to do by using his gross motor skills. Charlotte imitate the behavior with the toys that were in the classroom. On the other hand, Benjamin was insecure child that needed to be near his mom/dad. I learned many things from this activity. The observation took place indoor at my relative 's house. I went to observe the child on Tuesday at 12:00 in the morning. When you first enter the house and walk through the hallway, you will see that the kitchen is on the right side and the dining table on the left. After passing the kitchen and dining table, you will see that the living room connects to the back-yard. The living room 's walls had multiple picture frames and decoration pieces hanging along with a brown color clock. -My focal child: The little girl is around four-year-old. She is around 37 to 40 inch (93.98 to 101.6 cm). I can’t tell how much she weighs, but she is about an average body size. She is a brunette with curly hair, and her hair is tied up into a ponytail. I will call her M in this essay.

Childs name: Christen Childs age: 10 months Setting: Kitchen Clip duration: 1 minute and 51 seconds Christen’s father hands clutches just above his christens knees whilst putting him in his highchair. Christen makes different sounds; his right foot goes down onto the seat while his other foot goes on top of the table. Once he has both legs in the high chair his left hand lays on the table and he points towards something with his right hand and his mouth wide open showing his top tooth. Once he is seated it becomes clear that he is pointing at bananas and looks towards his dad as he says “lala” with a big grin and puts both hands on his high chair.
I observed at St. Eve’s Learning Center location in their preschool room. The center has a naturalistic feel to the environment and all of the staff is friendly and welcoming. The classroom displayed best practices, modern theories and research, and followed expected standards set by their accreditations.
The mother described the child as being a fussy infant who had trouble sleeping and would awake several times during the night. The mother also reports the child was a fussy eater, and she experienced trouble feeding her daughter during infancy and needed to switch her daughter to soy formula. Overall the mother reported that the daughter was a happy infant who smiled often. The mother reported her child being alert and responding positively to family members who visited and enjoyed playing with her toys. In regards to the development, the mother reported that her daughter seemed to be developing slower than her first child who hit certain milestones earlier.
The child that I selected to observe through the course of this semester is a Caucasian female. Her name is “R.” She was born on April 24, 2013. She is currently 10 months old, but will be turning one year old at the end of the semester. “R” is a child who is very active. She has an independent but outgoing personality. At this stage, she exhibits uncertainty with strangers and other people she recalls but has not physically seen in a period of time. The two children that I have interacted with this week at the Early Childhood Education Center from the Willows group is Emily and Harriet. I got a chance to interact with these two girls this week. They are both so much fun to play with and be around. With Harriet, we played in the dirt box and played with the musical instruments. We also played with her stuffed little gray and white cat and a toy tiger. With Emily, we played doctor and played in the kitchen area. Together Emily and I played nurse and doctor to make her little baby feel better and got to play dress up with it. We also played some in the kitchen to make food for the baby as well. From what I have learned from Harriet and Emily is that they have two different personalities.
