I am interested in pursuing the Physician Assistant (PA) degree because of my experiences both within the medical field and as a patient. These experiences have led me to believe that a team approach to patient-centered medicine provides the best and most comprehensive care possible. Further, the PA profession offers me the opportunity to continue my lifelong passion of helping others, giving back to my community, and provides me with further opportunities to teach.
According to the American Health Information Management Association, Health information is the data related to a person’s medical history, including symptoms, diagnoses, procedures, and outcomes. Health information records include patient histories, lab results, x-rays, clinical information, and notes. The data can be analyzed to see how a patient’s health might have changed. I took interest in Health Information Management when it was brought to my attention by a doctor. He told me that is a very interesting field and it is in high demand as they have more jobs than people to fill them. I went home, researched it and now here I am making my entry into the field.
It is my desire to increase my breadth of knowledge and to serve others in a larger capacity. Following graduation from the nurse practitioner program I would like to be working with a primary care clinic in a rural and underserved area. I have a heart for rural medicine and would love to serve and partner with a community that is in need of primary care providers. My goal would be to encourage patients to take ownership of their health by educating and informing them on healthy lifestyles, diseases, medications, etc. I would also like to help the community become more aware of preventative health. I believe the education of patients goes hand-in-hand with
There are many educational requirements for this field. Credentials include, human resources in healthcare administration, leadership and ethics in healthcare
Short term, I want to work in a medical facility, preferably a hospital or small clinic, in an administrative and/or clerical position. I would like to do this to gain experience on my resume since I have never worked in a medical field job before. After about five years, I will have my bachelor’s degree and want to be a department head in the hospital or managing a small medical office. My long term goal, after I go on to get my Master’s in Healthcare Administration, would be to open a small donation only clinic available to working parents who can’t afford healthcare insurance for their children. They are able to see a doctor for a short clinical visit for a suggested donation of something like twenty dollars. The staff would be made up of college interns who are in the pediatric or in another medical practicing major with a licensed medical doctor present overseeing the visit. This will help low income working parents to receive care for their child at an affordable rate. However, I know this would be difficult with Obamacare and its laws so hopefully by then, we will be rid of Obamacare. Another long term goal of mine is to manage a hospital or a public health facility. If I am unable to open my own business, I would like to oversee an entire hospital or manage public healthcare in the community I live. Either way, I would be impacting many lives and also be very beneficial to the community in several ways.
This paper is an over view of my profession and future Degree in my Bachelors of Science in Health Care Administration. I would like to use my degree to work in Employment services management, and I would like to work in the hospital as well. To learn about my future career in Health Care Administration I researched different aspects of my degree. Most of the information I found was very informative. I learned about how my personality fits with my career as well I also went to the Kaplan University Career Services. I researched How much is my future profession growing, how much money is the median for the state I live in and the hospital I plan to work in. I got a good over view of what my life should be looking like in five years. Most of my research I found was on this web site http://www.bls.gov/ooh/management/medical-and-health-services-managers.htm
Since starting this class, introduction to health care, I have begun to think about what the future holds for me and what I will pursue with my college degree. At this point in time my career goal is to become a physician assistant in orthopedic surgery. I plan on working in a hospital setting where I can continue to learn and practice my profession. Five years after all my schooling and achieving my license, professionally I see myself working at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York, which is a teaching hospital. I would be working on and with patients, while still learning as I practice my previous knowledge. I would be seeing patients with injuries such as an ankle sprain, evaluating x-rays, and possibly sitting on and
Healthcare administration is a field that is often overlooked, but is essentially the beating heart of any healthcare organization. Additionally, I would like to improve my communication skills, as it is an essential aspect of healthcare administration.

My desire and enthusiasm for further study and research is motivated by professional goals and intellectual curiosity. I would like to pursue a career in the development of new Health-IT systems, especially remote monitoring technologies, technology-supported translation services, c and self-management tools through mobile technologies that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of information flow in a healthcare setting. I strongly believe the intellectual environment at Georgetown University will provide me an opportunity to meet distinguished academicians, industry leaders and future entrepreneurs and collaborate on multidisciplinary and invigorating projects.
1.2 How perceptions of specific needs have changed over time The world is advancing towards a newer world. The values, beliefs and need of the people are changing accordingly. Hence, the perceptions of specific needs have changed significantly over time. My International background, cultural competency, multilingual abilities, and academic aptitude will aid me in successfully completing the Graduate program of Public Health. I am confident that this program will provide me with necessary tools and education to successfully execute and construct policies that would benefit both local and international communities. Through my Medical Scribe experiences, EMT work, Undergraduate coursework, helped me gain in depth knowledge and different perspectives into the health care industry. I believe that University of New England is the best conduit to pursue and accomplish my academic and career goals.
I am applying to the Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program because I will substantially benefit from the experience that it will give me. As the name of the program states, the exposure I will be receiving will greatly influence my future learning in medical school. It will familiarize me with the hospital setting and help me adapt to it sooner than most. I want to be able absorb this information and share it amongst my peers who aspire to be in the medical field as well. This program will not only help me academically but personally as well. It would give me a greater sense of independence, due to traveling back and forth to the city by myself. I would learn to figure out maps and directions on my own without relying on a parent
