Obesity today is a widely spread nutritional disorder that can affect anybody at any age across North America, majority of the reason being because there are so many fast food restaurants at just about every corner. With its low prices people are not going to be making the right decisions in what type of food they consume in their diet. Some examples of the junk food would be: Microwave dinners, snack foods like potato chips, which have high calories. It is not necessarily junk foods that make people obese and fat. Too many carbohydrates and foods with lots of starch in an individual’s diet can also cause them to gain undesired weight. It is not always someone’s dietary decision that makes him or her obese. Genetics play a monumental factor in a person’s weight. For example, if a child is born with two obese parents there is an 80 percent of a chance that the child can be born or become obese later in his or her life. Pregnancy can make the mother gain about 20 pounds after giving birth. Another said cause of weight gain is when the energy intake is more then the energy outtake in the body. That is not always the case. “According to recent reports, more than six in 10 adults are overweight or obese, and the number of overweight children is on the rise.” Is a quote taken from the McDonalds website. Some other problems for obesity can also be a result as problems such as: · Laziness- Inactivity resulting from a dislike of physical activity. · Psychological depression- Sad feelings of gloom and inadequacy, causing them to sometimes over eat even they are not hungry · Genetically- As stated above. When it is passed down a family line, making it almost inevitable for children to born obese. If you were to ask someone how it feels to be obese, the given reply would probably be that they feel unattractive, and have low self-esteem, which can cause an indirect mental illness. This mental illness in some cases may lead to the person becoming so down and depressed that they may make an attempt and sometimes be successful in committing suicide. Being obese puts the person at risk of developing sicknesses and diseases like, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes (type 2), and some forms of cancer (prostate, breast and bowel.) There is something similar but opposite to obesity.
Being overweight or obese are risk factors for many chronic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and … cancers.”
Regardless of a vegan's reasons for going vegan, and there are several, there's little doubt of that veganism, or minimally a mostly plant-based diet, can offer a reduction in the contribution of harming the ecological balance of the earth.
Obesity in America is a very serious problem affecting many Americans currently and is a problem that continues to grow each year. “Over the past 40 years, the prevalence of obesity has more than doubled in the United States” (Wimalawansa). This issue is known to many but believed not be an issue to care much about but this is not true. Obesity in America affects everyone regardless if they are obese or not. In order to resolve the problem, we can slaughter all the adults that are currently obese in America.
The evolution of make-up has quite the turbulent ride, beginning approximately six-thousand years as means of protection and to aid health and has now evolved into a multi-billion dollar industry. During its evolution, make-up has been declared illegal, immoral and in some instances was deadly. Today, makeup comes in thousands upon thousands of colors, textures and is even specific to skin type and race.
Laws have been put in place since 1798 to control immigration into our country. The Naturalization act added more strict guidelines on how long it took for an alien to gain citizenship. Acts like the Alien act allowed for the deportment of persons deemed to be dangerous during peacetime. Another act called the Alien Enemies act allowed immigrants understood to be dangerous during wartimes to be either imprisoned or expelled from the country. All of this legislation shows that we are willing to welcome people into our country but they should be legitimate and they should not be a danger to the country or...
The earth throughout many years has dramatically change in negative way when it comes to the planet’s environment. A simple choice of choosing vegetarian diet can have positive outcome to our wildfire, the atmosphere ,and even human health. From cutting down rainforests for cow pastures to adding methane to the atmosphere, a normal meat-based diet can majorly damage many parts of world.
Before pointing fingers at any one reason, one must consider the causes of obesity. The sources are varied. These causes include: environmental factors, social factors and medication. Environmental factors including of overeating, lack of physical activity, eating out too often and school lunches (Schoenstadt). “The top two causes of obesity in children are the unhealthy diets and physical inactivity. A sedentary life along with a fat rich diet will also result in obesity” (Schoenstadt). Social factors may consist of not having enough money or even low levels of education. Medication is also a contributor because these drugs may cause weight gain (Schoenstadt).
According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) about “17% (or 12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2-19 years are obese” (Moreno et al., 2013 P.157). “Surveys administered in 1976-1980 and 2007-2008 show that the prevalence of obesity has changed from 6.5% to 19.6% among children 6-11 years old age and from 5.0% to 18.1% for those aged 12-19 years (Moreno et al., 2013 P.157).
A United Nations report states that land used for animal agriculture, both for grazing and production of crops fed to livestock, takes up an astounding 30% of land on Earth. ("Meat Production Wastes Natural Resources") To meet the industry’s demands, over 260 million acres of forest in the U.S. have been cleared to grow grain fed to farm animals. ("Meat Production Wastes Natural Resources") With that in mind, the meat industry also dumps disease-causing pathogens through animal waste that pollutes water and forces the need for waste lagoons to be constructed, which are susceptible to leaking and flooding. ("Facts about Pollution from Livestock Farms”) Scientists say that about 14% of the world’s greenhouse gases are released by said agriculture industries, which is a growing concern for climate change and global warming. (Silverman) The meat industry uses one-third of all the fossil fuels consumed in the United States. (Moore) There is no question that farming animals has a negative effect on the environment and steps should be taken to mitigate air and water pollution risks and future deforestation. If animal agriculture was phased out, land used for animal grazing could be returned to forest land and some of it converted into fields for cultivating crops for humans. A global shift toward veganism, resulting in the elimination of the meat and animal agriculture industries, would protect the environment from various detrimental effects.

Makeup has transformed the lives of so many individuals and continues to play an important role in the daily routines of many women (and those men who choose to wear makeup). No individual would put so much time [Pause], effort [Pause], and education [Pause] into a task that is only to impress others. It is nice to present our self-expression to others, but it all reflects how one feels. One can change
