President Obama Steps Out of a Limo and Three Slants Neutral Paragraph Barack Obama, our 44th President of the United States, arrives at the United Nations headquarters in New York City at 7:05 am. One can only imagine the great feat ahead of himself, many other US representatives and other global leaders. Just a few days ago NASA recorded a “synth-static” signal from the outer reaches of space. Many experts have suggested this is beginning of extra-terrestrial Alien contact for humankind. The many powerful nations on Earth must create plan on how we will precede relations with this universal apparition. His gorgeous Limo, promptly showing up just a moment after 7 am, reflects his ambition, creating a great relationship with intelligent life in our universe. Gracefully stepping out of Limo, Obama is looking quite sharp. He also shows what great shape a 53 year old can be in. Of course, he is wearing his signature watch, a stylish Seiko. He sees the many fans of his who have been waiting all morning for arrival outside of the grounds, humbly he smiles and warmly waves to the crowd. The groups of US officials already there begin to swarm their national leader. John Kerry, who was nominated to his position by our President, shakes hands and exchanges pleasantries with the President. Deciding that time is of the essence to begin talks with other leaders, Obama begins to walk towards the front doors. Clearly late, Obama shows up 5 minutes after 7 am. Like all celebrities he arrives by a stretched Limousine. After flaccidly getting out of his Limo, one can’t help but notice his vanity of an overly-tight suit. Wearing his usual watch, one that is manufactured by a Japanese company, nothing is appears new with Obama. He disregards the seriousness of this meeting to protect our planet; Obama waves and smiles at his groupies. The collection of many Conservative US officials already there waiting on him begin to walk up. Obama ignores Senator McCain and others when he quickly scopes out his buddy, fellow politician John Kerry, and starts talking to him while limply shaking hands. Now realizing how late he probably is, he begins to just start walking towards the UN front doors forcing the others to have to catch up to him. Forty-fourth president Barack Obama on August 29, 2009 presents a eulogy for Edward Moore "Ted" Kennedy a few days after his passing. Obama’s purpose is to pay tribute to Ted and all of the good he has done. While employing pathos, altruism, and some anger, he adopts a respectful tone in order to look back with the Kennedy family and treasure him one more time.
In his speech, Obama uses terms like “Us”, “We”, and “Our” which let him connect with his audience by allowing him to identify with them. In a way it lets him connect with his audience’s mourning . Obama also allows his audience to use their imagination to remember Reverend Clementa Pinckney during his speech. He uses imagery like “ He would not grow discouraged. After a full day at the capitol, He’d climb into his car and head to the church to draw sustenance from his family, from his ministry,from the community that loved and needed him.” With this Obama paints a picture of Reverend Clementa and uses emotion to captivate the audience’s attention. In efforts to personalize his speech,Obama uses bit of humor. When referring to the time he met Reverend Clementa Pinckney he states, “Back when I didn’t have visible grey hair.” With this bit of added humor, Obama attempts to ease his audience into the eulogy. He lets his audience have a laugh and connect with him. Obama also uses a lot of passion in his eulogy. Halfway through his speech, Obama makes a bold statement which makes his audience roar with applause. With a strong and passionate tone he states “Oh, but God works in mysterious ways. His concepts of duty, service and self-sacrifice seem to be what segregate him among the elite leaders. Colin Powell overcame many situations that would have been seen as a hindrance and ignored reason not to accomplish what he did; however it is a very important part of the development that he underwent to reach the place he is now in life. In the beginning of the speech Barack Obama reflects back to where his parents and grandparents came from and what they did as their occupation. Obama shows pathos, logos and ethos many times throughout his 2004 keynote speech. He also spoke on why his mother and father gave him the name that they gave him. Have you ever watched the Presidential Inaugural Address? Well, you should because you can learn what the new president wants to do with the country you are living in. I analyzed Barack Obama and George Washington’s Inaugural Addresses. There were many differences and similarities between Barack Obama and George Washington’s that I will further explain in this essay.
