Medicine has become a main priority around the world, leading to advancements in research, technology, and future problem solving. When it comes to pursuing a degree in healthcare, thoughts are immediately drawn to becoming a brain surgeon or cardiologist. Those practicing patient care believe in the health and wellness of the individual. However, the well-being of an entire community must be considered as well in order for the growth of healthcare in the world. Focusing on an individual patient provides one with the depth and tools to understand how one has created their lifestyle. It lets us examine their history, cultural background, as well as their dietary behavior. Dietary behavior is the assessment of the nutritional needs of a certain individual or population of people. Knowing the nutritional constructs and disapparties of a population provides us with a clearer understanding of the way live and behave. In the field of Public Health, I believe the area of Nutrition and Food Science has produced a strong impact in creating an ideal nutritional program within larger populations. I think this project was a great opportunity for me to learn how to educate and guide patient’s in making better nutritional decisions with the help of my using MyFitness Pal. I think MyFitness Pal is an excellent resource for any patient that is interested in improving their nutrition. Nutrition is often neglected by patient 's, therefore, as dental professionals it is important to use the latest technology to attract our patient’s to become more interested in their nutrition. The positive impact of this project has encouraged me to recommend using MyFitness Pal to my patient 's as a hands on activity to help correlate nutrition and the patient’s overall health. This project also allowed me to become aware of the poor food choices I made, which will help to benefit my patient’s that have a similar diet.
Proper nutrition is important in maintaining a long and healthy life. Most Americans are rushed due to their busy work schedules, and do not take the time to plan their diets properly. Like me, most Americans are unaware of the importance of eating a healthy diet and consume too many foods without the proper nutrients. Throughout my life I have been fortunate. I have not had any major health problems, and have been able to consume most foods without having to worry about gaining weight. These last two years, however, I started to gain weight and have become concerned with my diet. Changing my poor eating habits has been difficult for me, however, having this assignment has taught me that it is not as difficult as I previously imagined.
The late Nineteenth Century saw increased industrial growth in the United States. One of the major developments that led to the increased industrial growth was the expansion of the railroad. The railroad provided infrastructure that made it cheap to transport goods from one place to another. Investors could now build industries in different parts of the country and transport products fast and to a wide network of consumers. Another resource that fostered industrial growth was the influx of immigrants into the United States. During this time, many foreigners were able to come into the country and provide cheap labor for building industries thus reducing the cost of industrialization. In addition, the country was in need of vigorous development to cater for the needs of the growing population at that time.
Nutritionism is an ideology that believes that the nutrients in foods are the key to understanding them. Nutritionism believers are so focused on the nutrients that food contains that they forget about all other aspects of food. The problem is that consumers rely on packaging to tell them what nutrients a food provides, since nutrients cannot be obviously seen, and they rely on science to tell us what nutrients are good and which are “evil”.
Healthcare is intriguing. The health and wellness of people always has been intriguing and always will be. My background in healthcare came as an environmental pass down with a father as a Registered Nurse and a mother in healthcare management. It was inevitable that the journey of healthcare started being instilled without my knowledge of it, as a young child. A constant learning in the health sciences and management directed my way. By the start of college, the intrigue lead to compassion, lighting a fire for the administration of healthcare. This calling spurred by a great woman, my mother, who is a national redesign award winner by the Bureau of Primary Healthcare in Health Disparities. These footsteps down her similar path with careful guidance, but not to be confused with an easy path.
The differences in health amongst communities correspond to what does health really mean to them. There are many ways in which a person interprets what health is which pertains to the several inequitable health disparity issues within populations. Working with individuals and their communities can reduce the differences of health and its biases on local and global level.
Education plays a dominant role in the lives of students all over the United States. Since most students spend roughly eight to twelve hours in school, it is important to make sure that they are provided with a healthy and nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack.

It is the best workout out there, but with all of this searching for a workout plan, do you have a solid nutrition plan? Nutrition is not only 90% of the battle when it comes to improving all the aspects of health and fitness. It can be the ultimate reason why you may not be seeing any results. Trust me, when I say that iit has taken me years to figure out what foods, how much to eat, and how often to eat. What makes this challenging is everybody is different. What may work for you may not work for me. Some people can get away with eating crap and not gain an ounce but with me if I have a piece of cake, I will gain 5 lbs. I am a creature
The 3day’s food analysis provide me with the necessary information, to where about I was getting my energy, vitamins and mineral. It’s also shows whether or not if I was meeting all my nutrient need. Unfortunately, this unusually 3days food analysis did not meet my usual eating habits. The 3days food analysis revealed, that I didn’t meet, my nutritional need in many areas. I think overall my energy intake was less than my output. I am not surprise or dissatisfies, because it’s not like I was trying to lose or gain weight.
The purpose of this community profile is to discuss a particular health improvement issue within a chosen community. A community can be defined using many different terms. During the first years of my undergraduate education I acquired an ...
As a competitive swimmer in both high school and college, I was committed to physical fitness, but I struggled with my weight. After earning a degree and working in the field, I was determined to continue my education in Madonna University’s Didactic Program in Dietetics. I aspire to become a registered dietitian to promote nutrition education in the community setting in order to address health conditions and encourage
