Nusaybah bint Ka’ab was from the very well know Banu Najjar tribe, in the city of Medina. Nusaybah was the sister of Abdullah bin K'ab, and the mother of her sons Abdullah and Habib ibn Zayd al-Ansari. Nusaybah was one of the early converts to Islam and took part in every treaty as well as participated in several of the wars.
In the beginning of the Battle of Uhud, Nusaybah was getting water for the injured and tending to their wounds just like a lot of the women were doing at that time. Later on she went to see how the Prophet (PBUH) was doing, she saw the Muslims had the upper hand, and they did until they disobeyed the Prophet. In the Quran it says “Behold! You were climbing up the high ground, without even casting a side glance at anyone, and the Messenger in your rear was calling you back…”.Seeing how the Prophet was left unprotected, Nusaybah took it upon herself to do her best to ensure his safety. She used herself as a human shield protecting the Prophet from wounds that could have been fatal. The Prophet (PBUH) noticed she didn't have a shield and called to one of the retreating men and said “Give your shield to

the one who is fighting”. During the Battle of Uhud, Nusaybah fought and protected the Prophet. Throughout the course of the war Nusaybah received 13 wounds during this war, one in her shoulder that took a year to heal. The Prophet said “Whenever I looked to my left or to my right Nusaybah was there.” The Battle of Uhud was not the only battle Nusaybah witnessed, among the Battle of Uhud included Battle of Hunayn, Khaybar, and Yamamah. Nusaybah also fought in the Battle of Yamamah, during this Battle Nusaybah received 11 wounds and lost her hand when it got shot with a spear; soon afterward her son died in battle. At the same time her son Hamim was held captive by Musaylimah the liar. He cut all his organs from her son until he died when he refused to acknowledge him. Later after Musaylimah had been killed, a man named Khalid ibn al-Walid came to her to tend to her hand with hot oil, to seal the wound and stop the bleeding.
It was narrated by Ikrimah, that Nusaybah went to the Prophet, and said, "I see that everything goes to men, and I do not see anything mentioned for women.” Soon after that the aya was revealed that says "For Muslim men and Muslim women, for believing men and believing women, for devout men and devout women, for truthful men and truthful women, for patient men and patient women, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give sadaqah, for fasting men and fasting women, for men who guard their private parts and women who guard, and for men who remember Allah much and women who remember, Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward." [Surah Ahzab, 33:
35] When Nusaybah was asked about her passed sons she expressed how she was pleased with how they are martyrs. Nusaybah was told by the Prophet (PBUH) she too was guaranteed heaven.
...ople. It is heart breaking to see how few women contribute, compare to what they can contribute to the society for the moral and prosperity of the country. Islam teaches tolerance and sacrifice for both men and women because we are one under God’s eye. Women are not the only one to learn tolerance, sacrifice and serve men. It is important for people to educate themselves and find the purpose in making this world a better place for women and children. In addition, I wish to make every woman aware of their individuality that they are worthy in and of themselves and not by the men in the society.
The first religion and its views on women that will be discussed in this essay is Islam. Islam is a religions founded in Saudi Arabia almost two thousand years ago, by the prophet Muhammad. In fact, Muhammad dedicated much attention towards women in the Koran, the holy book of Islam. However, even though much was dedicated to women in the Koran, it was not dedicated to them in the sense of equality. Women in Islamic culture were apparently much lower on the totem pole than men, "The men are made responsible for the women, since God endowed them with certain qualities, and made them the bread earners...If you experience opposition from the women, you shall first talk to them, then [you may use such negative incentives as] deserting them in bed, then you may beat them (129)." ‘Aisha was like a bridge between the time of the Prophet and the future of Islam’ (Haylamaz 2012, p1). This quote showcases that Aisha Bint Abu Bakr played such a significant role in regulating the Muslim Ummah. Aisha was one of the wives of The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). She has contributed a lot for the sake of Islam as many hadiths have been narrated from her. Aisha had remarkable intelligence and was very knowledgeable. She was seen as a very brave person that wasn’t frightened of talking back to people in order to find out the truth. When she would beat someone in an argument, The Prophet would display a smile upon his face and would
In Islam, women are treated with the highest esteem. They are not seen as inferiors or as sexual objects. They are seen to be very important in life as they give birth. The Qur’an mentions how men and women cannot be separate.
Who doesn’t love puppies and their big eyes? Everyone loves when they are so small with their big droopy eyes. Catahoulas are by far one of the most cutest breeds. Every dog has to grow up and they no longer have the puppy appearance, but the Catahoula is a striking breed and through out history has kept its name to be one of the most dashing breeds.
Despite in the Qur’an, the Islamic holy book, it states that men and women are equal under Allah’s eyes (Documents 1 and 2), Islamic women are still repressed from fundamental teachings in the Qur’an, as well as social expectations to be obedient. Umm Salamah says the Honorable Prophet states that if a women pleases her husband and dies she will go to Paradise. As she was a wife of Muhammad, the Islamic Prophet, her words were popular in the Islamic community
Contrary to popular belief, Islam is a religion that respects the rights of women. I was raised in a devout Muslim household, and I was raised to believe that women in Islam are amazing and powerful creatures that deserve respect, and this has had a massive impact on the woman that I aspire to be.
...as of Islam’, “Islam gave this oppressed part of humanity, as it did to all other classes and groups, their legitimate place in life. In a world where woman was no more than an object of sexual gratification for men, and at a time when the religious circles and authorities in other cultures argued over whether woman was human or not, has a soul of her own like man, Islam declared “O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and female” (Qur’an 49; 13). Thus, men and woman have similar rights and duties; Almighty says “Never will I waste the work of a worker among you, whether male or female, the one of you being from the other” (Qur’an 3:195). Islam removed the false idea about woman that she was the sours of evil. Qur’an mentioned that both Adam and Eve are responsible for the first sin. However, both repented, and both were forgiven (Kayani, 1)
In the Muslim religion, women are not to be thought of as a piece of meat. That is why their bodies and head are covered by clothing. The main reason for this is so the women do not tempt men if they are married. However, the responsibility should not fall on the woman’s shoulder just because the man cannot control himself. This shows that instead of the women, the men are the weak ones if they can fall into temptation so easily. Women are not even allowed to pray with the other men in a masque, because they will distract the men from praying. Women have to change so much for men so that men can function in society without being tempted and without any trouble.

First of all, women have equal rights in Islamic world. Islam highly encourages to give women their equal rights. This includes all types of rights, spiritual, economic, social, education, legal, and political rights. According to Islamic concept, men and women are created equal. They have spirits given by God. Neither man has superiority on woman nor has woman. The duties assigned to both are same. The same five prayers a day are obligatory for women which are for men. Everybody will get the reward for his own deeds on the Day of Judgment. If muslim women are supposed to fulfill their duties then why not their rights are equal in the eyes of western world. According to Zakir Naik: “In terms of moral, spiritual duties, acts of worship, the requirements of men and women are the same, except in some cases when women have certain concessions because of their feminine nature, or their health.” (Naik).
Since it is the responsibility of males to provide for females, women are liberated from all social, political and economic obligations. They are freed from all these burdens so they can enjoy the joys of housework and child-bearing and caring. And this is regarded as the special status that Islam has accorded woman, thus liberating her from oppression and suppression over 1400 years ago.
Muslim women come from the Islamic faith. Islam is a monotheistic religion where its followers (Muslims) believe there is only one true God, Allah, and honor and love the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the last prophet of the God. Just like in any other religion, Muslims, particularly women, have rights and requirements within their religion. As well as wearing hijabs, Muslim women have the right to dress however they like, choose who they would like to marry, have the right to an education, and lead an imam. In the Islamic faith, Muslim women are required to dress modestly by God.
“Islam has not in all cases accorded similar rights to man and woman. But it has not also prescribed similar duties and similar punishments for the two sexes.” (Mutahhari 33) There can be no denial that Islam views men and women as functionally different, admitting them different rights and ...
I hope that with this understanding in mind, Muslims and non-Muslims, both men and women can start a process of communication and dialogue in order to remove misconceptions, suspicions, and fears. So as you can see, there are many challenges for today's Muslim woman whether in the westernized world or in traditional societies. Through internal and external dialogue, I am confident we will find the ways to remain true to the Shariah and Sunnah and contribute to the world today.
