My career choice is to study Nursing because I love to help people and I love to take of people when they are in needed. I choose this career field because it brings a lot of meaning into this world to help the people that are sick or even when the mothers are in labor. My cousin has gone to Nursing school, she had to take multiple classes and that she had graduated from a nursing school and became a nurse at R.U.S.H Hospital. Seeing my cousin helping people and helping the doctors, changed my mind and that I wanted to become somebody that helps the patients that are sick and the ones are in need of help. According to “How Nursing Has Changed Over Time”, “Women were caretakers, so nursing has been just an extension of what their roles at home …show more content…
In order to become a nurse, there are skills that will be needed such as; communication skills, critical-thinking skills, being compassion, interpersonal skills, and also having leadership skills. Stated in “Nurse Anesthetists, Nurse Midwives, and Nurse Practitioners”, “Many nurses work in offices, hospitals, schools, and clinics. Nurse midwives also work in birthing centers. Some nurses may treat patients in their patients’ homes and they may also travel long distances to help care for patients in places where there are not enough healthcare workers” (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 17 Dec. 2015). In a big environment such as hospitals, clinics, and health centers, nurses and doctors work in groups because there are many things that will be going on and working independently will not help the process go any faster in the workplace. My coworkers will be the other nurses that’s in the workplace and also the doctors. Nurses that are in the industry, get more responsibilities and get paid more because they are more experienced and that they took the steps to further their
I have always had a passion for nursing. As a child, I watched my mother getting up early, putting her scrubs on and headed out the door for a 12 hour shift. She was always content, and at ease to go for a long shift and even overtime at times. I love the fact that after work, she would always come home, satisfied with the day no matter how hard it was for her. She would sit and tell my brothers and sisters how she enjoyed the conversations that she had with her patients and what impact she had on their lives that day. Listening to these stories as a child, I knew that I wanted to become a nurse and listening to the same stories and helping people, making their day feel better. I wanted to follow my mom’s footsteps. At the end of a long shift, it is a rewarding profession, knowing that I am saving people’s lives, making them comfortable when they are near of dying, advocate and teaching them. As nurses, we care for patients through illness, injury, aging, health. We also promote health, prevent diseases and teaching the community; that’s what I love about nursing. I believe that this is the right profession for me because I have all the qualities that a nurse should possess when

This interview really helped me understand what it is like to be a new nurse and the dedication that I have to have going through nursing school and throughout my career. In the interview you will see the perspective of Emily’s endeavors after college and insight for future nurses or nursing students.
I believe that Nursing is a profession that is unique to the individual. My reasons for choosing such a profession is due to the fact that I have a desire to help others. Growing up with a very sick parent of whom I traveled back and forth over the years to many physician offices, lead me to develop my career path at an early age which was nursing. I watched the many doctors and nurses providing care to my mom in such a compassionate way, and as a result of the kindness they showed my sibling and me, I was very much aware this was as some may say, “my calling”. I had a conversation with my mom and told her that one day I was going to be a nurse so that I could care for her in the same manner that I saw the nurses and physicians caring for her. I wanted to
From an early age, I can remember being interested in the way the human mind and body work. The way they coincide together and how one can affect the other. With these two things being the subjects that I was most interested in one can assume that I would choose psychology or nursing as my career path. Becoming a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner would be my dream job because it combines the 2 things that drive me the most psychology and nursing.
Nursing is a promising career that offers many rewards to caring individuals. It is more than just a job that one attends day to day. Nursing is a career that kind people get in to because they are passionate about life and everything is has to offer. They care for people they have never met before in such a way that makes the patient feel comfortable and able to relax. In a way that makes it possible for the patient to recover from whatever they have encountered. If I am going to spend valuable time and money on education, I want to a job that I absolutely love. I want to have the satisfaction of knowing that my job is safe even when times are rough. Interviewing Jennifer H, a Registered Nurse at a local Banner facility really helped me get insight on what the position has to offer. I have encountered many people who are not passionate about their job and just show up for a paycheck; choosing a job in the medical field provides people with the same check, but also offers job security, advancement opportunities and numerous benefits for the employee and their famil...

Ever since I was a kid I’ve wanted to become a pilot. It was my dream job, every time I looked up and saw an airplane I was intrigued by the plane soaring through the air. I always pictured myself being in that airplane not only as a passenger but, as the pilot. As I grew older my passion for flying strengthened, I looked for ways to turn this passion into something more. I took multiple exploratory flights, I also stayed at EAA Academy Lodge for a week, and logged many flight hours throughout the course of two years. Not only did I have a blast doing these activities, I also learned so much from them. I am ready to take my education to a further level and progress towards becoming a professional pilot/aviator.
