Finally, I will talk about the potential growth in this field and legal requirements. Now i will start with the definition of my career choice.
Registered nurses perform different jobs throughout their career. RNs prepare for many different things during the day for example caring and teaching patients about what’s wrong with them. RNs require clinical skills, bedsides manners, and are able to multi-task. They also have to be very clean and safe at all times within their environment. Nursing has always been a key career in the health care system. Although it is not often focused on in media and stories surrounding health care, nursing is a career of great importance. If any patient was asked about their experience at a hospital or a care center, many will mention the capability and care that they received from the nurses. The health care system could not function efficiently, if at all, if nurses were not present to perform their part. Nurses are more than just physicians support staff. I choose to be a Family Nurse Practitioner. In many ways, it has also chosen me. I was twelve years old when I first thought of becoming a nurse. I was spending time with my elderly neighbor who was like a grandmother to me, and she had an accident. She was mortified. I ran over and got something to clean it up and started to wipe up the mess without thinking about it. “We all have accidents,” I said. After she got changed she said, “You were meant to be a nurse. Some day you will be, I just know it.” She passed away later that year and I have never forgotten that moment.

Enjoying such a wide variety of opportunities has not shown me a particular area of nursing but has drawn me to a love of nursing in general as each person has a story and walk in life. My goal is to continue to learn from the opportunities I am presented and learn from those with the experience to help me improve my level of care. Leadership to me is learning to build on past experience and helping others use their unique talents to bring people together for a common purpose. Learning, living, and then leading I want to be someone to bring others together to make a true lasting impact. Growing up I enjoyed doing service projects in my community and through college I have found a love for short term service trips including Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Belize, and twice to different areas of Michigan, one of which I was a co-leader in helping to plan. Service trips and service work is something I love and I want to continue to help and build on what I have already accomplished in serving my community. It is my desire to be a lifelong learner to help me serve people and my community to the best of my ability. It is my honest belief that through my goals of continually learning, leading, and serving others that as a nurse I will be able to provide the best patient-centered care possible for my
