Studying. Long, endless nights. Sleep deprivation at its finest. Procrastination. Stress. All side effects of an upcoming final exam. Most students despise final exams, and any blessed with the opportunity to skip one would happily do so. As a student, I have grown not only to dread, but to despise the annual grind of final exams. Speaking from experience, I view final exams as a combination of grade destruction, stress, and sleep loss. I can only remember the night before an awful assessment where I slept for one hour in result of merciless studying. The next morning, I performed horribly and filled my previous “A” grade with disappointment. The daunting experience left a bad taste in my mouth for exams during the upcoming summer. The brutal …show more content…
For example, a strong motivation in students to come to school will lead to students entering school ill in order to achieve perfect attendance. In result, sickness will spread more easily and infect more children. This will lead to intense discomfort for students and teachers, as well as poor performance on testing and learning. Another example of how the school atmosphere will deteriorate involves unwanted pressure placed on students to attend school each day. When kids may need to attend an appointment during school, pressure of achieving perfect attendance will keep them from going. Plus, children are loaded with enough pressure from school, and any extra pressure will only add to the load. Not only will the extra stress make school miserable for kids, but it will also make the school atmosphere more miserable as a whole. One last example of the negative impact the final exam proposal has on the school atmosphere demonstrates when kids actually miss a day of school. Because kids work so hard to attend school each day for the proposed reward, the day they miss school will lead to countless other missed days of school. After missing school and watching their goal no longer be possible, kids will no longer care about the attendance policy, and slack off out of lack of care and respect towards the rule. The motivation to attend school will end. This effect will reverse the purpose of the final exam reward and make it not worth it in the first place. Multiple situations describe the negative affect the final exam policy has on the school atmosphere and its
-A monthly claim report lists all claims the insurance carrier has denied or not paid by the required time limits set by the state. It also has a listing of detailed information about the claim itself to better identify the exact claim listed. The monthly claim report is necessary for reimbursement because they must be sent to an auditing team to make sure the correct attention to the overdue claims so that they are paid and if not paid the provider should be send a notice on why the claim is not being paid or why the provider is going to be receiving a partial payment. This is called a remittance advice sent to the providers office so that they claim may be edited and resubmitted.
This question marks its way back to the time when people used to rely on the security of windows login credentials. The security no doubt prevented users from having access to one’s personal computer, but once a person had logged into the system, he/she would have the access to basically anything and everything that came their way.
I am a plate that is made of clay that was taken from the Earth of Japan. But before I was made into a plate I was up to the mountains near a big forest that had a Jinja on top a beautiful waterfall where water fell from the top to the bottom and sometimes flowing to rivers. But when winter comes the waterfall would freeze into shards and when the winter goes the shards and snow turn into water filling up the waterfall making a waterfall from the top to the bottom flowing with an immense amount of water to rivers and ponds that would sometimes connect with the waterfall. My maker crafted me to be used as art depicting many natural objects or buildings even sometimes people in the drawing. I am also used to hold a meal for a person who would eat the nourishment from top to bottom. Most of the time I would have fish from the ocean or rice that was farmed in flatlands on top of me.
...iform policy, bullying, segregation, and distractions will not be the reasons of poor school environment. When all the negative effects are prevented, it would form a better place for students to learn and keeps them united.
This week in my HUMI 1 class, the one topic that we discussed in class that captured my attention was the state of being Naiveté. Although being naive is often looked down upon, it can also be something that you require in order to achieve your goals. When looking into the topic of Naiveté, the first person that I went to was my father. He was a refugee after the Vietnam war in 1975. Vietnam, even to this day, is not a place that many would want to live in. According to my father, during his time there, it was a filthy place to live and everyone there would often get sick. People were forced to work to exhaustion and starvation and diseases were the main causes of death. While all of this was occurring, he and his friends would often talk about
These ‘frames” influence how I think. For example, every time when I saw some children are playing on the ground with their hands touch the ground, I thought this was wrong and their parents should have stop them playing on the ground. Because my parents yelled at me if my hands were touching the ground in the public when I was a child. They explained to me it was very dirty with a lot of germs. My parents have built a frame of how I feel about the public ground, which is dirty and a lot of germs. After I watch the video of Dr. Ness, thinking outside the box and changing the point of view are some of the tools to break these “frames”. (&Ness, 2011) Now, I think that touching the dirty ground may help strengthen the immune system.
This will cause a negative affect to school funding. Classes will be overwhelmingly filled with students, as author Helen Ladd Edward puts it in her article, Class Matters, Why Won't We Admit it? , she says, “performance has shown that many of the success stories have been limited to particular grades or subjects and may be attributable to substantial outside financing or extraordinarily long working hours on the part of teachers.”(web). To support her statement this will cause the professors to demand more pay for the abundance of students in their classes, causing teacher strikes across the nation and this would mean more taxes on the rich. Making them angry and resentful to those in lower class society causing a more divided social class, discrimination, and possible class
The next day’s test turns out to be satisfactorily completed (as usual), though I know I could have performed better. My rather eventful night did not become my excuse for an unsatisfactory grade, but rather a pathetic justification for not seeking to achieve my finest. To the benefit of myself, I don’t particularly need to study a great deal, or even at all. I am sure this fact only lends itself to my consistently inadequate study habits.
Children who are unable to do the task at hand may act out in order to get out of the school work that is too hard. This in turn could create a domino effect, once the student has acted out and students react to this they may develop an unattractive character trait better known as the class clown syndrome. In cases like these it sometimes benefits these children to repeat the year. It could build their confidence by giving them the extra time to relearn what they missed because of their
At first, failure was none of my business: I did not really care how high or low my grades were. But when I suddenly experienced what failure was like, I did not like it one bit. In fact, a fear started to grow within me. It was like a hideous, chupacabra-like alien had landed on my territory and I felt I had to do everything to get rid of it. I studied mathematics very hard: harder than I ever had before. I studied how to divide 9 by 3 and 8 by 4, even if I so despised numbers to my very core. I did not like them because they made things abstract to me. Things which I knew became unknown w...
Some thinks kids need to learn the importance of hard work without getting a reward back. It also takes away the teachers funds and learning abilities. I think if they gave them a reward they would take that money for advantage like cheat on tests to get a higher grade and not learn anything at all. Cheating can take away the privileges of having cash given out by the schools and the students wouldn’t want that. (Schools Start Offering Students Cash for Better Grades)
Not only will the students not be mentally prepared for the upcoming year, the flunking students may view education as a meaningless waste of time. Why? Because of the little to no effort they dedicated on passing their classes. Because of their educational gaps missed in previous years, cruel peers may potentially tease the social promoted kids. These kids are going to have a hard time trying to keep up with everyone else, to the point where they start to lose interest in their education.
One of the biggest problems with education is that it is poisoned in the way people view school. Some common phrases among students are that ?school is boring; school is work.? Theses attitudes have a direct effect on the effort that students put into their studies. One will obviously work harder when they aren?t bored with the task. There is a difference between hearing and listening and if students approach school as something that they see as boring and stressful than that student will only be hearing what the professor is saying. They may show up to class but this does not mean that they are necessarily there to learn. If school were fun than students would enjoy learning and thus, would learn more since it would be an enjoyable activity. School is just like a sport or a book in that if the book is well written and enjoyable than there is more incentive to read it, just as someone will put more effort into a sport that is fun than a sport they don?t enjoy. If school were fun, than students would strive to learn more.
Students will even cheat on their test or plagiarize just to get a reward. “The only motivation most students get from rewards is the motivation to get more rewards” (Gardiner). Getting paid for good grades should not be the only initiative motivating students to do well, getting a free education is a reward itself. Going to school, paying attention in class, and gaining more knowledge is the best reward. It allows students to prepare for their future and be prepared for what the future has in store for them.
Its time to change the school system to save future students from becoming stress crazed and to let them know that there is more to this world than a grade card and in the long run it is a very small fraction of life.
