Do you want to help stop our oceans from dying? Our ocean is a huge part of our world and humans are killing it more and more every day. We need our ocean to survive and with how much we are polluting it we won't have it for much longer. A lot of things go in to polluting our oceans like plastic waste not getting thrown away right, oil spills, and nonpoint source pollution. 80% of pollution in the ocean comes from the land. We need to stop polluting the ocean and marine life before its to late. Learning about the effects plastic, oil spills, and nonpoint source pollution have on the ocean will help better the understanding on why we need to stop.

Plastic is one of the biggest pollutants out there. Humans use it all the time often and don't throw it away in the right ways so it all goes to the ocean. Therefore the ocean is drowning in plastic. Birds and fish mistake it for food and animals get stuck in it. Fish and bird see the small plastic items and think it's there food. Nonpoint source pollution, also knows as NPS, comes from many different sources. Nonpoint source pollutions can come from fertilizer, oil, grease, toxic chemicals, sediment, salt, bacteria and nutrients from livestock, atmospheric deposition, and hydromodification. United States Environmental Protection Agency said, “States report that nonpoint source pollution is the leading remaining cause of water quality problems.” All that pollution will get in to our oceans and cause fish to die. And make our water bad to drink. Toxins cause harmful things to happen to marine animals and humans. Plastic causes cancer and is not good to consume.
