The tribes in The God Must Be Crazy is good example of the Nobel Savage, because they are work together and share everything until they come across the Coca Cola bottle. After the Coca Cola bottles is throw out the plane, it been discovered by one of the tribe’s people. He then brings back to the tribes and it created of all the problem. The people want to keep the bottle for themselves and don’t want to share anything. It’s also start the fight between two boys. The Hovitos tribes in the movie is trying to protect their statue from being stolen by the outsider. They are still living in the middle of jungle and have no contact to the outside world. This is great example of the noble savage because they still protect the cave for generation that believe to have a mystical object inside and willing to kill anyone that trying to stole it. The benefit side of using the noble savage in this movie is that they show how valuable the object was. It so valuable that the tribes are willing to kill to protect the object. The last one are the District 9. The movie District 9 is considered of an example of the noble savage because the alien is peaceful and undisturbed before the human enter the ship. After the human enter the ship and take all the prawns all out the ship they became more violent and aggressive. Physical violence is also very common behaviour in the movie. For example, the very first scene shows a violent altercation between three soldiers and a gang of local thugs. Physical violence is the fundamental way in which the whole society behaves. The men use it to show that they are “macho,” so they beat up those who are weaker than they are, especially women. For example, Vinnie, the leader of a street gang, physically and verbally harasses a young prostitute named Tralala. In the most violent, nasty, and horrible scene in the movie, Tralala is gang raped and beaten by over a hundred men in a garbage dump. Many of the men in the film are homophobic and sexually insecure, and they act out their hostility and insecurity by beating up gays. They have problems at work and go out on strike. But their strike is full of violent incidents: they get into fist fights, they blow up trucks, they beat up cops. Whenever they have a problem, they use violence to deal with it.

Benjamin Franklin wrote “Remarks Concerning the Savages of North America” to show that it was not the Native Americans that were “savages”, in fact it was the Americans that acted like savages towards the Native Americans because they were not accustom the their culture. Americans considered Native Americans to be “savages” because they had very different customs and lifestyle. Responsibilities that were considered important to Americans at that time were not important to the Indians. “Our laborious manner of life, compared with theirs, they esteem slavish and base and the learning, on which we value ourselves they regard as frivolous and useless” ( 226). Americans consider things such as graduating high school and college and getting a job to support themselves and their families to be very important achievements and a huge responsibility. To the Native Americans being a good hunter and becoming a man are far more important to them. Although it was hard for Americans to accept that Native Americans believe those things are more important than graduating college, it does not by any means give them a reason to be considered “savages.” If anyone should be considered a “savage” it should be the Americans because of the way they reacted to the Native Americans when they showed them their culture.
Some dangers were the same, and others completely opposite from one another. For the followers of the conch, they faced having to fear when the savagery group raided and fought them. On the other hand, savagery is represented by addiction, and addiction is something everyone fears. Once one picks up on the violent acts of savagery, it is a tough force to try and stop. Too much savagery could cause major psychological disorders later on in life, and could be a gateway to live a murderous, or abusive life. Words such as ‘squaw’ and ‘savage’ are used commonly. These terms are derogatory but because these words lack the negative connotations that they deserve, the exposure to them omits the effects they might have to the people being described. Further, at one point in the novel, the encounters with the Native population are described as no more than a “monkey troop living deep in the forest.” The only positive characteristics given to the Native people is their non-human, animal like knowledge of the forest. The imagery of monkeys, or animal like behaviour, is all too familiar.
