Noam Chomsky full name Avram Noam Chomsky was born on December 7th, 1928 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Noam was a smart kid growing up; he was ahead of most kids his age. Living through the great depression he saw a lot of things that we don’t see now, like woman on strike getting beat by police for example. His childhood was full of reading he did a lot of sometimes rereading books up to a dozen times. He says he has just about completely blocked out his memories from high school, except for things that were emotional to him but he calls those emotional times kind of negative. Although growing up he was a very popular and well known man.
Noam Chomsky has written a lot of books there are hundreds and hundreds. He has done a lot to write about in his career. . His books are either written by himself, himself and others, and others that write about him. He has books on everything from terrorism to his theory. He was written his thoughts about September 11th and the government and politics in itself. He is a very involved man with this country and how politics and terrorism has changed it over time. He has been involved with these types of things since he was a young boy listening to the adults fight and argue about it on the streets of New York City.
Around the age of 10 Noam wrote a student newspaper about fascism in Europe after the Spanish Civil War. He later wrote an essay that he presented at New York University on the same subject. Chomsky had an uncle who he admired greatly he used to sit at his newsstand and listen to people talk about perspectives of the country. Noam Chomsky is still alive today he is 85 years old, has three kids 2 daughters and 1 son. His daughters names are Aviva Chomsky and Diane Chomsky. His sons name is Harry Chomsky. Noam Chomsky was married to Carol Chomsky in 1949 their marriage ended in 2008 when she died of cancer at the age of 78. She was a very smart woman; she was also a linguist like Noam. She studied at the University of Pennsylvania and at Harvard University as well. They’ve known each other just about all their lives her mother was a teacher at the Hebrew school that Noam’s father was the principal at when they were five years old.
