In life many people go through many of the same challenges and they have a different story to tell about the same event. Two types of stories have come out unto the world. One of them is the book, Night, by Elie Wiesel, and the other is the movie, Life is Beautiful, and both of the stories is from a person who went through the Holocaust. Night is about a twelve year old boy who goes through the camp Auschwitz and in Life is Beautiful it is about a young boy also going through the camp. The movie, Life is Beautiful, and the book, Night, by Elie Wiesel, are similar in hope and plot, but they are different in the ending and the tone used.
Both Night and Life is Beautiful have hope throughout the whole story. In Night a lot of the hope came from having Elie and his father together throughout the majority of the camp. Likewise, in Life is Beautiful, both the father and son where together in the camp and were the main reason to keep going and not to go insane. Besides the affect family had, music also had a lot to do with hope. After Elie had ran in the snow for many, many miles him and others were put into barracks that were crushed in on top of each other. During this time of people dying on top of each other, Juliek was able to sneak out and play Beethoven on his violin and gave hope to the men through music. In Life is Beautiful music was also used for gaining hope. When Guido was serving, at the dinner, he switched the music to a song that was him and his wife’s song. He opened the window and pointed the record player speaker to outside so that his wife could hear the song and find hope. Both of these people found hope in things that meant a lot to them and kept them moving forward.
