What is Gender Identity? Gender Identity is an individual's inner feeling of being a man or a woman or another gender. Although most social orders characterize two categories of gender. Some cultures recognize other genders and individual and people may distinguish as neither male nor female. A person's gender and gender identity character are frequently thought to be the same as their sex; that is, a person who was conceived with male life systems is thought to take care of business and a person conceived anatomically female is thought to be a lady. What is Identity? Identity is the certainty of being who or what a man or thing is. Having a feeling of identity is vital in light of the fact that it permits individuals to emerge as people, identity

build up a feeling of prosperity and significance, identity fit in with certain gatherings and societies, and without it there is a sense of lostness and Jason Bourne proves that.
The film “The Bourne Identity” is about a man name Jason Bourne. Bourne whose wounded body was discovered by a fisherman who nurse him back to health. After he was nurse back to health Bourne could not remember who he is but retains his kinetic reflexes, which lets him keep using his fighting and other skills that he obtains during his previous life, he tries to rebuild his memory by clues he finds by going place to place.
In the content “Night to is Day: The Social Construction of Gender” Judith Lorber talks about “doing gender” (1) and how “Gender is such a familiar part of daily life that it usually takes a deliberate disruption of our expectations of how women and men are supposed to act to pay attention to how it is produced” (1) This quote correlates with “The Bourne Identity” in some sense.

Identity plays a big role in shaping who a person really is, it plays a big role of shaping one’s life, the circles that one may fit into etc. and with a disruption of not knowing your own identity brings chaos and un-comfortability not only for oneself but for others, for instance imagine someone walking up to you asking for your name and you saying you don’t know, that person would feel uncomfortable and would look at you in a strange way. Bourne not knowing who he is puts him on edge, not knowing his name, not knowing what music he likes, not knowing his background, not knowing anything brings uncertainty of everything, there is a sense of lostness, Bourne trying to figure out who he is brought frustration because he knows things about others but nothing about himself, like a scene from the movie when Bourne and Marie was in the diner he showed frustration because he could tell a person weight but can’t remember his own name. Bourne approaches everything strategically and precisely to try to get information to figure out who he is.
In content “Bros Before Hos: The Guy Code” Michael Kimmel, talks about

what guy code is and that there are certain criteria’s. He also lists the four basic rules of masculinity which are: “no sissy stuff” (4), “be a big wheel” (4), “be a sturdy oak” (4) and “give ‘em hell” (4).
What is Masculinity? Masculinity is having qualities customarily attributed to men, as strength, and intensity. The social construction of masculinity is that a man must have the capacity to provide, protect, procreate and so on. A man should have the capacity to accommodate his family, he should have the capacity to secure his family and the list goes on. In "The Bourne Identity" Bourne is depicted as extremely manly. In "Bros Before Hos: The Guy Code" Kimmel would say Bourne is a "masculine man". Case in point, In the film, the expert assassins were activated to execute Bourne, during these activation assassins after assassin would follow him, coming face to face with these assassins, he would show no vigorous, no inadequacy, no sentiments, he did what he expected to do to stay alive and that is one of main thing in being a man, you have to be able to handle a situation. Bourne knew how to handle himself in every situation. He knew what to do not necessarily to solve the problem but to hold it off enough to be able to find a better way to diffuse the situation. He handles everything without fear he literally “give ‘em hell” (4). Even though Bourne doesn’t know his identity his gender identity is still intact, he acts as a man should, he talks like a man should, he goes about everything as a man should, well the depiction of what a man should be and how society view how a man should be he has all those characteristics, when it comes to his gender identity I think it’s something he is sure of, he is not uncertain about it. There is an ease with regards to his gender identity he doesn't appear to be uncomfortable or question his gender as oppose to his identity which he is frustrated by not knowing.
In “Bros Before Hos: The Guy Code” Kimmel stated “The face you must show to the world insists that everything is going just fine that everything is under control, that there is nothing to be concerned about” (2). I don’t believe this to be true because in the “Bourne Identity” Bourne shows uncertainty, he shows emotions, he shows weakness, he showed characteristics that are not to be seen, for instance in the film when Bourne was sent to kill Wombosi, he showed sympathy towards Wombosi after seeing his children next to him, another instance is towards Marie when they were in the room Bourne showed compassion, love towards her there is a sense of care, but yet the portrayal of how masculine he is has not changed, the way he goes about things and carries himself there is no doubt of his masculinity even though he show signs that are not supposed to be seen according to Kimmel.
What is Gender Identity?

Gender Identity is an individual's inner feeling of being a man or a woman or another gender. What is Identity? Identity is the certainty of being who or what a man or thing is. Identity is something that individuals are not conceived with, it's something that you make. Consistently you settle on decisions and these decisions makes up your identity. Knowing where you have a place is crucial with your sense of identity. The development for personal discovery is an excursion which each individual must experience. The advancement of a sense of self is one of the best accomplishments one can get from life. Identity is comprised of a heavenly body of attributes, none more fundamental than the sense of having a place we feel with others. People by nature are social animals and in that capacity, we as a whole have an instinctual want for acknowledgment. Whether it be gender identity or just identity itself without it there is a feeling of lostness and a feeling of not having a place. There is un-comfortability for oneself and the people that are around you. Gender Identity and Identity do plays a big role in one’s life it is like the base of making who you are, there is always a base of something, and the base for a human you start with your identity and you move on from
