What is Gender Identity? Gender Identity is an individual's inner feeling of being a man or a woman or another gender. Although most social orders characterize two categories of gender. Some cultures recognize other genders and individual and people may distinguish as neither male nor female. A person's gender and gender identity character are frequently thought to be the same as their sex; that is, a person who was conceived with male life systems is thought to take care of business and a person conceived anatomically female is thought to be a lady. Identity plays a big role in shaping who a person really is, it plays a big role of shaping one’s life, the circles that one may fit into etc. and with a disruption of not knowing your own identity brings chaos and un-comfortability not only for oneself but for others, for instance imagine someone walking up to you asking for your name and you saying you don’t know, that person would feel uncomfortable and would look at you in a strange way. Bourne not knowing who he is puts him on edge, not knowing his name, not knowing what music he likes, not knowing his background, not knowing anything brings uncertainty of everything, there is a sense of lostness, Bourne trying to figure out who he is brought frustration because he knows things about others but nothing about himself, like a scene from the movie when Bourne and Marie was in the diner he showed frustration because he could tell a person weight but can’t remember his own name. Identity is something that individuals are not conceived with, it's something that you make. Consistently you settle on decisions and these decisions makes up your identity. Knowing where you have a place is crucial with your sense of identity. The development for personal discovery is an excursion which each individual must experience. The advancement of a sense of self is one of the best accomplishments one can get from life. Identity is comprised of a heavenly body of attributes, none more fundamental than the sense of having a place we feel with others. People by nature are social animals and in that capacity, we as a whole have an instinctual want for acknowledgment. Whether it be gender identity or just identity itself without it there is a feeling of lostness and a feeling of not having a place. There is un-comfortability for oneself and the people that are around you.
