It was about five hours later that Nick appeared in the doorway with the girl. His hand grabbing her elbow again. She looked so scared. Her brown eyes darker with fear and she was nervously squeezing her hands into fists. Nick had annouced the girl was up in order to get my attention, but it managed to get the attention of Hayden and Cayden too. I got up from the couch and walked over to stand infront of her. My eyes met hers for a second and I smiled before pointing at Nick. “His name is Nickolas,” I shifted my eyes to the twins, “They are Hayden and Cayden.” Her eyes looked over to them quickly and then she shrugs. Once her gaze sinks to the floor I decide it’s time to get her out of her and into a room where she can think about things. …show more content…
“Thanks for waking her up Nickolas, but I can handle her from here.” I say as I place my hand on the small of her back and move her in the direction of the staircase. “Are you sure?” Nickolas asked, shooting me a skeptical look. “Yes i’m sure.” I reply. I put in extra effort to make myself sound offended. He throws his hands into the air to show that he meant no harm by his statement before he goes to sit in the spot I had been sitting in moments ago. I pressed my hand against her back a little to get her to start walking to the stairs. Her steps are unsteady, but you can tell she is trying to hide her fear. Her gaze turns back towards the boys, who are all now focused on the game Cayden and Hayden are playing. Her feet freeze and her body is stiff. Something scared her, maybe a thought. I press my hand againt her back again, not just to get her moving, but also to try and comfort her a little. She’s hesitant to move but she manages to do it. Her body doesn’t relax the entire time I’m leading her to the hallway. There aren’t to many doors so I assume she can find her room with simple instructions. I want her to begin feeling like this is her home. “Your room is the one on the far end of the hall, I hope you can find a way to properly decorate it to your likings.” I say with a smile. I know she’s way too scared to return it, but it’s worth the extra effort. I go down the stairs and sit next to Nick on the couch. His eyes are focused on the game the twins are fighting over. I nudge him a little to get his attention. “She’s really scared right now.” I tell him just in case he doesn’t know and comes on to strong. “I know. Do you think that she will understand that this is to help her?” He asks, turning his gaze to me. “I think she will. She seems like she’s strong.” I say to reassure him. “At least she doesn’t hate me, well, she doesn’t seem like she does.” He mumbles a little. “Just wait for her to get used to being here. You saved her from the people tormenting her, she’ll be grateful.” He nods and I can see the affection in his eyes. There was no way he was going to kill this girl. Even if she wasn’t being abused. =-----~-----=-----~-----= “I told you to guard the exit you idiot!” Nick yells at Cayden. “No!
You told me to guard the other one!” Cayden retorted like it was the most obvious thing ever. “I was already at that one, so how does that make any sense?” Nick yells back at him I had just gotten up a few minutes ago, and the boys were already yelling at eachother. The feeling of being watched suddenly covered me and I looked behind me. I can see that she wants to run. Her hair is messy and needs to be brushed out. She is also wearing the same clothes as yesterday. “Guys.” I say to get the rest of the boys attention. Her eyes make contact with everyones before the makes a run for the back door. She runs fast for how short her legs are and she has a hand on the door knob by the time i’m able to wrap my arms around her waist. I feel my arms tingle as a drag her towards the living room. Her nails dig into my arms, but Ii still managed to get her into the living room. “Why would you do that?” Nickolas asks her, breaking the silence that had settled over the room. “Why would I want to stay?” She says making direct eye contact with him. His eyes are gentle and full of affection, but there is a look of anger covering it. Her face showed anger, but she also looked like she was confused. It wasn’t to late to get her to be like
us. “I don’t see why you would want to be back there,”Nick says, talking about her hometown,”No one obviously treated you good. We could be the family you never had. Why do you insist on fighting us when we are trying to help you?” Her gaze shifted to the ground, but we could see that she understood. She was thinking for a while before her eyes looked up at us again. “What exactly do you guys do?” She asks with a look of interest in her eyes. I smiled before replying. “We do whatever we want.” She liked the sound of that and a smile appeared on her face. It was breathtaking. None of us had seen her smile and we wouldnt of guessed how stunning it would be. I looked over at Nick who probably had the same expression I had on, except his was more loving. “Where do you guys get money from then?” Her eyes looked around the room quickly, looking at the expensive decorations and appliances. “Hayden and Cayden have rich parents, they can get as much money as the want as long as they stay out of their parent’s hair.” Nickolas answered, I shot him a look since their parents was a soft topic. “You must have to ask for a lot.” She remarks. She’s way more observant than I thought she was. “Well, we also do other things. That helps a lot.” Nick replies looking in my direction, silently asking for permission. “Well sell drugs once in awhile.” I tell her leaning back against the couch., she might as well know since she is going to be staying here for awhile. She doesn’t seem that surprised by the news and she even says,“That’s pretty cool.” The guys and I smile at that. She’s going to fit in great. “We weren’t sure if we were going to tell you pretty early or wait till you weren’t freaked out, but you seem to have come to your senses now.” I say. If she hadn’t realized we were trying to help her we might of had to kill her. Her eyes shifted over us again taking in our features. After taking in our appearances she gazed into the kitchen and her stomach growled loudly. I chuckle as she looks over at me with a shy expression. I left my spot on the couch, I had sat there after she had calmed down. “I’ll come get you food, but if you try to escape your going to deeply regret it.” I tell her, meeting her gaze so she knows no harm will come as long as she doesn’t force it She ran over to me and we walked into the kitchen. Her eyes were full of excitement and it was simple to see that she liked food. I started making her a grilled cheese sandwich and I was completly focused on it. Cooking was something I learned to d myself and it was something I could do that wasnt illegal. “You don’t look like the kind of person who would know how to cook, not to mention like doing it.” I hear her say from behind me. “Looks can be very deceiving, it’s one of the first things you need to learn before you join us.” I answer, I wasn’t trying to be rude, but I was focusingon the foos. She’s quiet for a while and I assume that she is trying to find ways to distract herself. “So all you guys sell drugs and break the law?” She blurts out. “Yeah Nicklas and I are normally the one that does most of the stuff, but Hayden and Cayden make up for it by doing all the technical stuff like hacking.” I tell her flipping the sandwich I had in the pan. “I’m not the best with technology either. Cayden and Hayden are just going to have to continue doing that on their own.” She says, laughing at her statement. I began cleaning the pan and other things as she ate, only looking over at her once in a while. She was cute when she ate. She would rip little pieces off of the sandwich before putting it into her mouth. She finished eating and I made sure she followed me back into the living room. The guys were seated on the couch still, playing one of the many Call of Duty games we have. I took my spot next to Nick. The girl stood at the edge of the couch. She wanted to sit down, but she didn’t want to intrude in our space, but our space is hers now. My phone vibrated and I pulled it from my pocket. There was a message from another gang, they were our friends and they wanted to discuss stuff about drug deals. “Guys we have to go meet some people, so get off the game and get ready.” I tell the boys before standing up. They mumble under their breath as they turn off the game and stand up too. Suddenly their eyes all land on me again. “Carson isn’t someone going to stay with her?” Cayden asks. I nod realizing I had forgotten this little fact. She’s standing there innocently with a look of mild concern. The guys and I all make eye contact trying to figure out who is going to stay with her.
She looked over to see his face and it made her smile. He still had dark spots it his fur which were way more noticeable and he was smiling only a little but it was a real smile not sly or a smirk a genuine smile. She started to think I wonder what happen why did Nick not like me when I first got here. I hadn’t done anything and he didn’t know me but its like he had already met me and hated me. she wanted to ask but he was in a good mood
“His face darkened with some powerful emotion, which, nevertheless, he so instantaneously controlled by an effort of his will, that, save at a single moment, its expression might have passed for calmness.
“I wouldn’t do a thing like that. Why would I do a thing like that?” she said.
Nick Carraway and Jay Gatsby are the two main characters of The Great Gatsby and can be contrasted based on their numerous differences. One comparison states “Nick’s mind is conservative and historical, as is his lineage; Gatsby’s is radical and apocalyptic-as rootless as his heritage. Nick is too much immersed in time and in reality; Gatsby is hopelessly out of it. Nick is always withdrawing, while Gatsby pursues the green light. Nick can’t be hurt, but neither can he be happy. Gatsby can experience ecstasy, but his fate is necessarily tragic.” This statement accurately describes the novel and clearly contrasts the two characters in a way that makes them foils of each other. Fitzgerald’s variation between Nick and Gatsby improves the plot of the book and creates well rounded characters.
“How could it have mattered then?” Silence for a moment.
think of what to do next. She pulled her fur hood up over her dark
As she walks into my bedroom, she makes herself comfortable on the edge of my bed. I grab her forcefully and tie her to the plastic chair that was placed strategically between the end of the bed and the wall.
Brooke had long blonde hair, and eyes that looked almost gold if you stared at them for a second longer than normal. “Hi.” I said. I walked up to the circle. “Okay there are a lot of people so do we wanna group into teams of two?” Heather asked. Everyone agreed and sooner or later everyone had a partner. Well, except for Brooke and I. Heather started to count and Brooke looked at me. “Where do you wanna hide?” I whispered. “I don’t know this is my first time here..” She said sheepishly. “Oh okay, come on.” I said. I ran off across the yard. Everyone was out of sight and Heather was almost done counting. I stopped at the back of a red truck and started to climb in the back with Brooke. We layed down, knowing that we would have leaves in our hair before long. After a moment of silence I spoke up. “So, tell me your life story.” I said. “Well, I’m 13, and I have a lot of siblings. I love 5 seconds of summer and I am very busy a lot of the time.” She said. I liked this girl. I could already tell I wanted to keep her around, until she said something that immediately made my heart drop. “Also my dad is in the military, so I move around a lot.” She said. I knew how this story would go
Shikamaru shook his head. He gazed at her deeply, his eyes piercing through her veil. It was frustrations the same emotion that she felt, it was being mirrored by him once more.
I got to the door before Percy and standing at the door was Annabeth and Grover. "It's nice to meet you Mr. Blofis." Annabeth and Grover both said.
“Uhm, what’s happening right now?” I asked the two as they were starring into each others eyes.
It's been a long day, introducing Nick to the important people in my life. I decided to let him in on my life to clear up any rumors that he’s heard from anyone on the outside. After this long day I finally took him home.
Nicholas gritted his teeth and shouted. “I hate you. I hate you. You didn’t need a friend, you were grown up. It’s not fair. You knew how to survive.”
Everyday I see her, sitting alone. It’s only seven thirteen and I know her friends will join her soon; I stay sitting across from her. Everyday, my curiosity grows. I see her all day and I know next to nothing about her. She sits alone most of the time, an almost forlorn look plastered to her face.
However, she was not filled with love for him. There was no love for him in her eyes, yet the man did not stop looking at her. He thinks that even when she is sad or frowning she is still beautiful. Her smile is the prettiest out of all the other young women.
