Onika Tanya Maraj, better known as Nicki Minaj, was born on December 8, 1982 in St. James, Trinidad and Tobago (Encyclopædia). Her mother, Carol, has worked as a Gospel singer. Her father, Robert, has worked for American Express (Nicki 2). She has four siblings, brothers Brandon Lamar, Micaiah Maraj, Jelani Maraj, and sister Ming Maraj (People).
