Have you ever heard of the book called The Great Gatsby? A guy named Nick narrates. They have the east egg and the west egg. Doesn't ring a bell? Hmm, well let me tell you. It is a book written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Explains the details of Jay Gatsby and his love for Daisy Buchanan showing America in the 1920’s. Fitzgerald connects his life through Nick,an honest man, and develops people to give the story meaning and life, but why? Nick tells the story of gatsby because he is the only man trusted. Everyone is human, yes Nick has probably make at least one mistake, but maybe he learned from that mistake. Everyone trusts someone for a reason, you can make a guess at why Nick is trusted but we will never know the real reason. Nick is trustworthy because of his attitude and well being. During these ups and downs you will eventually find who you trust. Gatsby found his in his neighbor, Nick. Nick is in a place where he can see into Gatsby’s yard from outside. As he says, Nick can see on his right, “A colossal affair by any standard,” he described, It was Gatsby's mansion.” Having an outside source really helps situations. Neighbors usually have somewhat of a bond. So if we aren’t sure why we trust Nick, what about why Gatsby chose Nick. I believe he chose Nick to have the outside looking in. Just like the trust issue, it’s good to use people outside eyes. Nick says, “ Every friday five crates of oranges and lemons arrive...and every Monday the same oranges and lemons left his backdoor in a pyramid of pulpless halves.” Just by living next to him, he can see everything that goes on. This is why he was chosen. Now I have proved why Gatsby has trust for Nick. Also why Gatsby chose Nick. I have also given some reasons as to why Nick was the guy for the job in Gatsby’s opinion.
