New Perspectives
This is the first essay that I wrote for class. I was extremely nervous writing my first "college paper" but I ended up enjoying it very much. Although my writing skills and technique are a little unorganized and choppy, I can honestly say that this paper was the one that I most challenged myself creatively. It was pretty hard putting such awesome experiences into mere words, but I did my best. The paper obviously shows my writing level at the beginning of the class, but has been my favorite paper to write.
Self- Evaluation
I really enjoyed writing this paper because I love the topic. I try to re-live each event in my description and make it easier for the reader to relate to. I think the strengths of my paper would probably be my introduction and description. I don’t think I’m a very strong writer, so I had problems with organizing my ideas and writing my conclusion. If I had more time to write the paper, I would try to add more events that happened, and how to those events changed me. I think that would better support my thesis, and make a more interesting and developed paper.

I am sitting straight up in my seat as the Jeep jostles down a bombed out city street. Dust flies as Aaron shifts into fifth gear and fumbles with his Nokia, trying to take a picture. My aunt is grasping the dash and frantically looking behind her shoulder. Soldiers in olive green uniforms are yelling at us in Turkish and trying to catch up. My Uncle is too fast and we duck into an alley, out of sight. We sit in stunned silence for about thirty seconds, and then burst out laughing.
My Aunt Rikki, her fiancé Aaron, and I had spent that spring day of 2001 on the Turkish side of the island of Cyprus. We had been attempting to take pictures of the ghost inner city of Famagusta. Famagusta had been off limits by the Turkish government since the 1974 invasion. What resulted was the exhilarating chase I just described. The drama of the story is exaggerated.
Medical billers often communicate with physicians and other health care professionals to explain diagnoses or to attain further information by means of phones, email, fax, etc. The biller must know how to read a medical record and be familiar with CPT®, HCPCS Level II and ICD-9-CM codes.
Medical billing codes are used to communicate the diagnosis and treatment of a patient from the healthcare provider to the patient's payer (private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid). Those codes help the payer determine how much to pay the provider for services rendered to the patient. These codes allow for modifiers which describe procedures and services in greater detail.
Hector shows his heroism in his own particular way. Richards reported, “[Achilles’] swift horses dragged [Hector] the Greek ships” (182). Here, it was shown how Achilles treated Hector’s body with no respect as a sign of revenge to avenge Patroclus from his killer. Regardless of the loathsome way that Hector was murdered, the Trojans view him an imperative warrior since he attempted to battle for his kin and kingdom. While Achilles on the contrary, he represents the Greek as an important warrior. Despite of the Greek views Patroclus as a hero, they gave Achilles a magnificent commemoration in his regard since he was influenced to take part to win the war after Patroclus passed
Healthcare Reimbursement is the financial payment to the provider for meeting face to face with an patient at his/her facility. In order to determine the financial obligation due to the physician for seeing a patient is determined by a number of factors; all of which, should be documented on the patient's medical record. To achieve the maximum reimbursement it is crucial to chart efficiently, documenting completely, scheduling patients and procedures appropriately, utilization of ICD-10, CPT and E/M codes, claims filing and other important factors in receiving the maximum healthcare reimbursement for services provided.
In this essay I think I had more strengths than weaknesses. This was one of my favorite essays I have ever written. The reason being was because I knew so much about the topic that I really enjoyed writing this essay. One strength I had was the content of the essay. All of my ideas were supported with evidence. Another strength was that my paper had organization. I started off talking about Marie Deans’ younger years then ended with her older. There was one weakness I noticed I ad in this essay and it was my writing style. My writing style was a little better in this paper but it was not the
Over the course of this semester I learned a lot about myself as a writer. This English 101 class has really allowed me to expand my essay structure and ways of thinking. This was my first college writing course and it has given me much more freedom when writing because in high school I felt limited and like what we were writing was not very important. In high school I would write essays to just to fulfill the required word or page count and to a degree I still feel like this but maybe that is why I am an engineering major but in this course I actually was able to express my ideas and for the first time really test the limits of my writing capabilities. I really enjoyed being able to incorporate my voice more in my essays and I believe that I developed my own personal style a bit from this. At the beginning of the semester my writing was quite choppy and there was plenty of room for improvement in the overall flow of my essays. Now, I use several different tactics such as outlining to create better connections between paragraphs. I believe I was able to move beyond many of the high school ways of writing and make general improvements to my essays.
I know would make an astonishing movie director because I have great leadership skills. [Then talk about how you developed these skills]. being the captain of the dance ministry at my church and being vice president of the national honors society as taught great leadership skills. Additionally, being in marching band taught me how to work well with others and how to handle multiple task at once. These qualities are all good skills to have when you’re a movie director because you must know how to lead and focus on more than thing at a time. Running long distance in track for the past 8 years has taught me how to have patients and a strong drive which is also an amazing characteristic to have as a movie director in Hollywood. I have the right communication skills and creativity necessary for the job, and I am more than prepared
This semester was my very first semester as a college student. Being the first, it was probably the semester I would learn the most in. I learned the expectations for writing that I will have to live up to for the next four years of my college career. Though my high school teachers were usually demanding because I was in the Honors English section throughout high school, writing in college has still ?raised the bar? for me. Also, in high school, we would have weeks to pick a topic, create a thesis, outline the paper, write the paper, and then revise the paper. In college, the time restraints are not quite as lenient. I?ve had to learn to manage my time and be more productive with what free moments I have. Strangely enough, I?ve found the college English experience to be much more rewarding and enjoyable than in high school.
In summary, I had an enjoyable time in my first college English class. I pushed myself as diligently as I could and learned much more than I thought I would. In addition to, my strengths grew stronger and my weaknesses improved as well. I acknowledge I still have some techniques and skills to work on; however, I am willing to put the time in and cannot wait to take English in the future. Writing is an everlasting skill that will be an enormous asset to me; in addition to my future classes, and my career as
From the initial callousness and stubborn temper of Achilles in the first books of the Iliad to the eventual ‘humanization' of Achilles in his interaction with the grieving father of Hector, whom Achilles himself slew, the Iliad can be seen to chronicle the maturation of the Greek hero during the terrible battles of the Trojan War. Achilles is a hero in the epic sense, complete with flaws and bad qualities that round out the character, but with passions and convictions that any reader can relate to. Throughout the course of the Iliad, Homer creates the character of Achilles to be that kind of hero in every sense of the word. As the novel begins, we first meet with Achilles in his interaction with the great king, Agamemnon. It may be said that Achilles shows himself to be a horribly hard-headed individual, and this is obviously true. But, in this encounter with the powerful king, Achilles also shows some of his more respectable qualities; such as courage, honor, and a sense of justice.
Over the course of the semester, I feel that I have grown as a writer in many ways. When I came into the class, there were skills I had that I already excelled at. During my time in class, I have come to improve on those skills even more. Before I took this class, I didn’t even realise what I was good at. This is the first class where I felt I received feedback on my writing that helped me to actually review my work to see what areas I lacked in and where I succeeded.
Over the past semester, I have found the most challenging part of this course to simply be the transition from high school composition classes to college. Because writing expectations are so different in college than in high school, even with AP and Dual Enrollment “college level” classes, I first found myself being overwhelmed with the pressure to write the perfect first draft. The pressure came from knowing how much a final draft of a paper contributed to my grade. This left me sitting in front of my computer for hours at a time with thoughts of what I wanted to say racing through my head, but unable to deliver these thoughts into organized, structured sentences. I learned, through writing my persuasive essay, that instead of trying to write the paper start to finish and already in its perfect form, it is easier for me to look at the paper through its different components and focus on them individually, then work to best organize my ideas fluently.
Writing this paper has been rewarding to me. It has helped me come to know a different me. Set goals for myself and helped me put things into perspective.
Hector is just mainly a good person. He has his flaws just like every other person who ever lived, but it seems as if his strengths outweighed his flaws. Hector loves his wife and his son more than he loves himself. He was loyal to his wife and wanted the very best for his son. He left them to go fight because he knew it was what he had to do for Troy (Homer 79). In today’s world, people do not merely look for someone who is a great warrior, but also someone who is an overall good person. Hector is very brave and reasonable. He is very courageous and will fight for his country no matter what the cost. Hector does not act like a child in difficult situations like Achilles does, but he acts like a mature man. Along with Hector being a good person, he is also a great warrior on top of all that. The modern world needs somebody they can look up to who acts in a positive way. Hector never turned against his own country like Achilles did when he wanted Zeus to be on the Trojan’s side (Homer 13). The people in ancient times chose Achilles rather than Hector merely because Achilles is an outstanding warrior and he is part god. Fighting is what Achilles excels at, and at that time, that was really the only aspect that mattered. It does not matter that Achilles is selfish, stubborn, and prideful, as long as he can fight well for his country. The Greeks were actually hurt by this because Achilles did not even end up fighting for his country until his best friend died. His stubbornness outweighed his greatness (Homer 178). Achilles was the greatest warrior physically, but he was far from the greatest
Based on your personal style and choice, decide on whether you want a traditional, transitional or modern dining room. Based on the style, decide whether you want your furniture made out of wooden, glass, metal, plastic or some other material. Also, keep in mind the usability and feasibility of your choice. If your entire home is done in a very modern style, bringing in a very traditional wooden dining table would appear out of place. Similarly, a metallic dining set in a place subjected to high humidity may be a bad idea as it is prone to get rusted.
