First of all, it is important to understand that no two criminal investigations are exactly alike. While some investigations may vary widely in their specific details, most of these procedures share some distinct similarities. Many crime scene investigations includes element such as the; Preliminary Investigation – takes place immediately after a crime has been committed, in which police or investigators determine whether there is sufficient evidence or cause to charge. Primary Investigation – Gathering Additional Information, Evidence Analysis- analyzing information about evidence related to a criminal act, and conclusion which include an arrests and Charges.

Documentation is also another important aspect before a warrant can be obtained, an arrest can be made, and even to get a conviction. Furthermore, upon research, crimes might be similar but no two crimes are exactly the same but they might show similarities in nature and it’s easy to jump to a conclusion which might cause one to miss an important a critical evidence.
It has been established that every crime has a hidden motive and given the time and effort, that it will be discovered. This particular episode of the “New Detective – Element of Crime” clearly showed few this things in common. The first crime was about Greg Smit killing his fiancé 27 year old Susan Galloway even he claimed to have loved her. It was later discovered that he only wanted Susan family business and had no interest of getting married to Susan.
The other was in Tennessee which required the officers to look beyond the obvious to explain a mysterious death of Lenora Robinson which happened on December 23rd 1997. A 911 call was placed by Terry Robinson about his wife not breathing and was later pronounced dead at the scene upon the arrival of the medic and nothing was seen to be out of place since she previously visited the a doctor just a day before and was given an injection for the flu like sickness which lasted for about four to five
