Skinheads are a subdivision group of Neo-Nazis. During the late 1960s, skinhead
groups organized in Britain. By the 1970s, the British National Front (NF)-the Nation
Socialist Party- began to infiltrate skinhead groups. They espoused nationalism, and often
staged protests against nonwhite immigration. The trend spread to other countries
including the United States, and Canada. Today, skinhead groups in North America are
known by such names as Hammerskins, Fourth Reich Skins, League of Aryan Warriors,
and American Front.
These racist skinheads, who are known for their shaved heads and membership in
hate groups, have been responsible for many violent acts. According to Merton’s anomie
theory, they exhibit the fifth adaptive strategy, which is rebellion. They reject society’s
goals and replace them with their own deviant goals and means.
The skinheads subscribe to Nazi beliefs, as outlined in the 1920s by the German
dictator Adolf Hitler. The new Nazis (or Neo-Nazi skinheads) have formed groups or
alliances with other “radical far-right people”. Radical far-right people refer to those who
favor a society with one language, religion and way of life. They are often antigovernment,
and usually oppose a pluralistic society. A pluralistic society is a society with people from
many different language backgrounds, religions and lifestyles. Neo-Nazi groups are made
up of people who despise those different from themselves. However, they often claim that
those who oppose them are the ones full of hate. They also say their critics will not listen
to reasonable arguments about Nazi views. Yet, their so-called reasonable arguments are
usually based on partial truths or outright falsehoods.
Their philosophy is to hate everybody else that is not of the “Aryan race”. They
believe that they are doing nothing wrong and they are just proud of their race and their
culture.
The normal thing for a skinhead to do is drive down the street, and look for
“anybody that was different”; blacks Hispanics, etc. They would then throw things such as
beer bottles, and yell at the person, and if the person yelled back, it gave them a right to
brutally beat them.
Members of the white supremacy movement look for young, angry kids who need
a family. Since the early 1990s, neo-Nazi skinheads have attempted to lure new members
through music. There are people who recruit people, mostly teenagers into the Neo-Nazi
movement. They mainly target junior high schools in particular and instigate fights
between white and non-white kids.

In contrast to Britain and Western Europe, in America the skinheads are a suburban and small-town prodigy.
The word collectivism often makes people cringe. Overall, there is a general fear of not being able to make personal decisions in America. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, collectivism can be defined as; emphasis on collective rather than individual action or identity (“Collectivism”). In Anthem, Ayn Rand describes an extreme collectivist society. Although Anthem’s society seems extremely surreal, aspects of its collectivist society closely mirror today’s society.
The Aryan Brotherhood started in 1964 was founded by Tyler Bingham and Barry Mills who were white supremacists and Irish American bikers. It started at the San Quentin state prison. The prison group was created to protect white prisoners from the black inmates. The cause changed into revenue when the group gained power. This gang is the most violent white supremacists group, and over one hundred murders have been attributed to this gang during its existence. The gang has been listed for assaults and brutal murders on police officials. It is one of the largest prison gangs in United States with branches in Nevada, California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Georgia, Mississippi, Colorado, Kansas, and Ohio. It has formed an alliance with the Mexico Mafia. The Aryan Brothers have around 30,000 members. The prison gang has a structure of presidents, vice presidents, majors, captains and lieutenants. It has a committee of members of a council that govern its branches across the United States. Its official symbol is a three-leaf clover. In order to join the gang one has to assault or kill another prisoner, and if one tries to leave the gang he is killed by the members. This gang is known for extortion, organized crime, drug trafficking, inmate prostitution and murder. They live by the motto ‘in for life and out by death’. They strongly believe ...
Pluralism comes from the political system that focuses on shared power among interest groups and competing factions.# A pluralistic society contains groups that have varying interests and backgrounds, including those of ethnic, religious, and political nature.# Differences like these are to be encouraged, with overall political and economic power being maintained. When a number of people, all sharing a common interest are threatened, a group is involuntarily formed in order to defend against competing interests.
“Individualistic cultures, in the western-hemisphere, [such as the United States,] emphasize… personal identity and self-determination. Conformity is far less pervasive in individualistic societies because democratic choices and laissez-faire viewpoints are somewhat considered.”
It is human nature to see those who are different and group them into distinct categories. The distinction of Individualism versus Collectivism is one that is currently being studied extensively. On one side, individualism sees individuals as the fundamental unit of a society. Individuals are supposed to be unique, independent, and most importantly, willing to put their own interests above all others. On the other hand, collectivism views the basic building block of society as social groups, stressing the interpersonal bonds between people. Collectivist values dictate that group goals and values have higher precedence than an individual’s. Due to the seemingly polar opposite nature of these ideologies, it is inevitable that they will be compared to see which is more beneficial to the country and its people. Some might point to the success of the US, an extremely individualistic country, in support of individualistic values. They will point to the freedom of choice and diversity that individualism boasts of. Others stress the flaws of the US in response, and while both sides do have their truths, the costs that come with individualistic values are too great to be ignored. Highly individualistic attitudes have caused many large scale problems which have long been identified as difficult to resolve issues. These problems include, but are not limited to, promoting aggressive acts, creating an obsession with social power, and allowing a system of injustice to be born.
Skinhead culture today usually brings up images of violent or racist gangs with shaved heads, however skinhead subculture had more humble beginnings. Skinhead roots began in the mid 60’s in Britain, when two other subcultures mingled to create skinheads: ‘Mods’, who were mostly middle class Britons that took much of their fashion tastes from the states. They were deeply influenced by the music scene and for the most part enjoyed R&B, and blues music; The other half of the emergence of the skinhead subculture was the ‘Jamaica rude boys’, who frequently listened to reggae and were also influenced by fashion, in which they wore nice clothes and suits . Self- image was very important to the skinhead subculture. The namesake of the culture came from the shaved head, in which a theory arose that it was done to avoid hair pulling or hair getting in the way during street fights. The look of short hair, collared shirts, jackets and boots gave uniformity to the culture and identity with each other . The Skinhead’s way of dressing represented both a ‘caricature and re-assertion of solid male, working-class toughness’. This was due to many factors linked to a decline in working-class communities. One example was the large scale immigration into these areas, mainly the East End, by poorer immigrants, who were perceived by the skinheads as destroying their communities and taking their jobs. In order to deal with this, the skinheads were involved in reclaiming territory. Many skinheads started to feel undermined by the middle class and decided to rebel against them in a bid to feel accepted . The skinhead culture was revitalized in the 70’s, and was largely influenced by the punk music phenomenon. This was when branches of the skinheads startin...

The average Blockbuster store carries roughly 1,500 movie titles. Netflix carries more than 12,000 titles. It has movies that you can't find anywhere else. And Netflix uses collaborative filtering technology to send you emails that alert you to movies that you might otherwise never consider. Netflix saw the video- and game-rental market moving to DVD and built its business around that trend. Netflix doesn't rent videocassettes, only DVDs (in part because they're lighter and cheaper to mail). Netflix was able to identify and implement a strategy fo...
Many people, especially those associated with racist groups, find it necessary to put down other ethnic groups in an attempt to strengthen their own. This mode of thought and reasoning usually results in extreme hatred of other races and an overall sense of bigotry. Reasoning in this manner equates to many associated with racist groups. Pride in one 's race may eventually lead to covert racism thought.
Nazism was the ideology held by the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, commonly called NSDAP or the Nazi Party), which was led by its "Führer", Adolf Hitler. The word Nazism is most often used in connection with the dictatorship of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945 (the "Third Reich"), and it is derived from the term National Socialism (German: Nationalsozialismus, often abbreviated NS). Adherents of Nazism held that the Aryan race were superior to other races, and they promoted Germanic racial supremacy and a strong, centrally governed state. Nazism has been outlawed in modern Germany, yet small remnants and revivalists, known as "Neo-Nazis", continue to operate in Germany and abroad.
When the Nazi Party first began its rise in Germany, there were many supporters who believed that Hitler’s intentions for the country were both smart and moral. Many groups of people were in support of Hitler because he was able to help Germany in many ways. In terms of finding jobs for people, bettering the economy, and strengthening the military, he was very successful. At this point in time, most of the country was in support of Hitler, but once his ideas of hatred towards certain members of the German population was revealed, many people immediately turned against Hitler and the Nazi party. These groups of people include political parties like the communist and socialist parties, religious groups like the Catholic Church, and a majority of the population in countries surrounding Germany. Although there were individuals “brainwashed,” into believing the Nazi ideas, there were also many courageous groups of people across the country that stood up for those being discriminated against for religion, sexual orientation, race, and disabilities.
