First there are other opinions on freedom such as, Nell Diamonds states that immigrants to America have freedom. America represents freedom and peace, that is why a lot of other people from different countries come to our country to have freedom. Therefore, there are some immigrants that come to America and sell drugs across the border, so I do see where he is coming from when he says “freedom is light burning warm” (Johnny Kim). He also stated, “we only want to be free, we huddle close and hang on to a dream”. Meaning, Nell believes the people coming to America are going to take everything away and everyone will be left without freedom. Dierks Bendy wrote a song about America being home. Secondly, Dierks Bendy wrote a song called “Home” explaining how America is home. Unlike how Nell believed all the people coming to America were going to take the freedom. Dierks believes America is home, for example, one of his lyrics says “3 from the mountains high to the wave-crashed coast there’s a way to find better days, I know” he also states “4 free, nothing’ feels like free”(DierksBentleyVEVO). Meaning there's nothing like feeling free no matter how hard and rough things get you to still live in a free country.
