Students can improve their grades to get rewards by asking teachers for advice or extra credits, joining study groups, doing homework, taking excellent notes and reading assignments before every class. Getting good grades is important to all students. It may influence their entire future unless they take school seriously. Grades can be higher with extra credits. Low-grade students should ask their teachers if they can do any assignments for extra credit, redo any assignments they did badly on, or ask for help whenever they have trouble. Students trying to inflate grades on tests because of getting money can be so stressed. Having too much concern about grades and how to do well on the exams can cause nervousness or stress for children. “Common responses to “exam stress”, as Hayes characterizes it, include disturbed sleep patterns, tiredness, worry, irregular eating habits, increased infections, and inability to concentrate.” (“Tests + Stress”). Stress and fear can affect people’s mental health and also reduce their memory. “When you are stressed by something, this stress takes a lot of resources from your brain and interferes with your capacity to encode any new information.” (“Effects of Stress”). If children are damaged their brain, they will have a really tough time in school to struggle with memory loss and get new knowledge. If schools wish students to be self-motivated and have a desire for learning because it’s valuable to them, then schools should not pay students for excellent grades. Paying students for good grades can lead to kids having pressure to earn good grades. In addition, the students who are payed will not succeed academically in the long run. Also, they are not self-motivated so when they are not getting paid they will stop trying. From pressuring to get good grades, not succeeding academically in the long run, and not having self-motivation, there are several negative effects of paying students for marvelous grades.
The Consequences of Grade Inflation When students arrive at university, professors expect them to understand the material to an exceptional standard. The problem is that grade inflation is occurring more regularly in secondary schools and universities across the country and when these students’ marks are sent to universities or colleges, the student may be given multiple scholarships for something that he/she should not have earned. Grade inflation is conceived between both students and teachers, meaning that the students are given higher grades when they have inadequate learning, reading, and verbal skills, while the teachers do not have to grade as many papers as they should in the real curriculum. There have been multiple examinations that have confirmed that grade inflation is very real and still occurs today. Students seem to think that they do not need to put forth much effort in school to do well, and grade inflation encourages this thought.

Apparently, I hate taking risks, but with a test which has high stakes, and my brain is blank, I have to take any chance to improve my grades by 1-2 grade levels, leaving myself susceptible to be ashamed by my instructor publicly. I may get answers from the notes acquired from the previous class and write them on a small piece of paper or use my friend as the supporting agent. A pinch of guilt may stick in the throat for the act, but it quickly gets swallowed with success if you happen to get an A on a math paper when you only struggled with half of the assignment.
