Navistar International Corporation's IC Bus unit has just released a new school bus that equips a highly efficient 8.8 litre gasoline engine from Power Solutions International (PSI). The vehicle was first introduced to the market during the The North American School Bus Conference & Trade Show event held last July 23rd to 27th at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. "We're very excited to expand our partnership with Navistar to include both gasoline and propane solutions," said Gary Winemaster, PSI's chairman and CEO. "Bus fleets are continuing to shift away from diesel in order to provide long-term savings for schools and a cleaner environment for the future. As part of this shift, gasoline has become the 'third alternative fuel," Winemaster continued.
With new diesel technology in today’s world, I think people should consider trying or using new diesel cars and trucks as well as the use of clean diesel.

Southwest Airlines: A Case Analysis. ORGANIZATIONAL ANALYSIS It is evident that the greatest strength Southwest Airlines has is its financial stability. As known in the US airline industry, Southwest is one of those airlines who are consistently earning profits despite the problems the industry is facing. With such stability, the corporation is able to make decisions and adjust policies, which other heavily burdened airlines may not be able to imitate.
The Southwest Airlines company and its culture is one that is often cited in today 's business classes. The airline is widely known to be “different” compared to many of its competitors, a result of its founding values and strong corporate culture. This culture developed early in Southwest’s history and was deeply entrenched due to the competitiveness of the airline industry, as well as due to some of the pressures experienced as a result regulatory issues and stiff competition.
For years, Southwest Airlines has been experiencing stable costs, low fares and traffic stimulation. However, the latest changes in the marketplace (See Exhibit 1: SWOT Analysis), including the higher energy costs and the entrance of new low fare/cost carriers are threatening the future of the airline. As a result, LUV needs to decide whether or not to acquire the slots and gates from the bankrupt ATA Airlines at LaGuardia (LGA) terminal in New York City (NYC) in order to expand its capabilities.
...rther then the end of 2010, the introduction of the electric car is not far to come. With proper government regulations and consumer knowledge, adoptability of the electric car is possible. However, one can drastically differ in opinion as to why the required elements to support such a vehicle were not readily planned to facilitate such a change. The inadequacies draw wavering concerns for both consumers and business looking for the return of value and profit. The larger picture needs to be remembered in which oil is not a renewable resource and results in pollution and environmental hazard. Consumers and business must work together to overcome the roadblocks down the road and support each other in the introduction of and future of the electric car. Adjustments will have to be made on both sides to ensure success and minimize the society and economy disruptions.

Marketing. Marketing savvy also plays a key role in Southwest's strategy. Since Southwest's inception, the major elements of the product offering have been price, convenience and service. As a Texas native serving mostly Texas markets, it has played the role of the hometown underdog, fighting against the majors. Now, when Southwest enters a new market, they use a sophisticated combination of advertising, public relations, and promotions in the belief that once people fly Southwest they will be hooked.

Spain’s Telefonica a state owned national telecommunications monopoly which was established in the 1920’s, made many changes in the political and economic environment that allowed them to start expanding globally. One of these changes that were brought forward, was that the Spanish government privatized Telefonica in the 1990’s. Economically they could keep expenses low and they would get more revenue, which in turn would generate more profit. The Spanish government also deregulated the Spanish telecommunication market. This allowed a lower worker force, growth in new technology, and increasing the shareholder value for the company. As Telefonica was searching for a place to expand, they found that Latin America was the perfect fit for them. It was a great place to settle in because they had better opportunities to become successful than anywhere else in the world. This is because Latin America had familiarity with the Spanish language and their culture, as well as having rich historical roots with them. There was also a high demand for telecommunications services so it was a perfect fit for Telefoinica.
