Introduction:
• Natural selection proposed by Darwin was an essential point in evolution. Natural selection is a process where animals adapt to survive and mate better. Evolution is the process where different organisms now are the development of earlier life forms.
• The purpose of this lab is to show how some traits of animals helps them survive and reproduce better in a certain environment. We used forceps as predators to pick out different preys(beans), to how that because of some traits animals can survive longer.
• My hypothesis is that if the beans color is the same as its environment then it will survive longer.

There are a lot of characteristics that can help a predator hunt and a prey survive. Even a single trait that helps the species survive better can change the numbers of survivors drastically. An example of this is the pocket mice video we watched. The land is now black, which was once white because of a volcano eruption. The mice lived unnoticed in the white land but because the land is now black they are easily noticed and eaten. But then over generations their skin color soon starts to change and it is black, which helps them survive drastically. This helps them mate and the population soon changes.
Conclusion:

My hypothesis was supported in the dark colored habitat but in the light colored habitat it was not supported. It rather proved me wrong. In the light colored habitat, the black colored beans which were supposed to have the least chance of survival, survived the best.

Also, with evolution it allows for use to see how we have similarities as well as differences from all living organisms from the past to the present. By being able to see the similarities as well as differences it shows how overtime we have changed and evolved through the use of evolution.
