Scholarship, leadership, service, and character, those are the main qualities that an individual must voice by joining the National Honors Society. I am here to represent each characteristic and express it through my personal life as well as my academic. For me it’s of great importance that people must cultivate these four essential qualities. Then a thought crosses my mind, similar to a cloud appearing in an empty sky, how can I announce that I do these qualities when my actions are portraying something else? Unattainable! Therefore I go into my bubble of thought, my personal space that no one else can reach except me. So I reflected on each qualities, and the bulb that is inside my brain turned on and mesmerized the rest of my thoughts , …show more content…
Leadership is not something that is effortlessly attainable. You have to know how to work together with people, emphasizing the word together. Being a leader should not be someone who just orders around and blames others if there was a misapplication, a leader is someone who works with others in an effort to obtain an improved event and takes part of the blame which he/she cooperates and indulges to find the source of the problem and how to solve it. I hereby consider myself that I portray the quality of leadership, I work together with each individual in a way that everyone will be favorable by the ending results. And I agree that not always something turns or works the way we expect, thus I must work together to find a …show more content…
I always have in mind that when I think my situation is horrible, there's always those who suffer worst than me. We live in a time were helping an elder cross the street is seen as something rare, in which I honestly think it shouldn't be that way. What's wrong with us? How have we become like this? Service is something that has been taught in my family, and church, we have to be good civilians and help those around us. Service is something that should surround the everyday life of each student and adult, we should not expect to get paid of any form, the point is to give! Yes even those who hurt you, how can we become stronger as a person if we don't try to remove that big boulder of hate, because all it does is stay in us and limits our actions. After all for me the greatest treat of helping someone is receiving the satisfaction of knowing that I did a good deed and that's my gift that I treasure the
I would like to begin with saying that I am honored to be invited into the National Honors Society. The National Honors Society is based off of four pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Character and Service. These are all characteristics a member of the National Honor Society should exhibit. I believe that I possess all of these characteristics and should be given the chance of becoming a NHS member. This has also been a goal of mine since freshman year and would mean a lot to me to be apart of such a prestigious organization.
It takes a long time to become an effective and respected leader but can evaporate very quickly with one misstep. It needs to be nurtured and cultivated every day. My personal leadership style is to observe and correct. As a junior member, one of my Chief told me, “I don’t care how long it takes you to do a job as long as you do it right the first time because if it is wrong you will be the one fixing it.” That resonated with me because it allowed me to take risks and learn from my mistakes making me a better technician. I firmly believe one of the best learning tools is failure. His statement let me know it was all right to fail but if you do you will be learning from it. Identifying weaknesses within my leadership abilities and striving to correct them will result in being consistently looked upon a leader within our
I am writing to inform you of my possible contributions to the National Honor Society and my interest in becoming a member. I view myself as a strong minded individual with a strong incentive to learn. Acquiring the ability to learn fast and adapt quickly has enabled me to be a part of a wide range of organizations. My participation and loyalty to the NHS could result in a great strive forward. I could provide more ideas of services to benefit the school and our community. I would also devote a large portion of my free time to the organization and assist in any way possible. Whether that means coming in early in the morning or staying late after school, I would do any means necessary to show my commitment.
“Leadership, dreams, scholarships, service, pride and character”, the first words that come to mind when I hear “National Honor Society”. Being chosen for National Honor Society is a great honor, as it has proved that from my childhood till now my hard work has paid off. From the beginning of high school, as a freshman to now a junior, I have always pushed myself to do better, but not better than others, better than myself. I had competition with myself and my past grades, as I emboldened myself to do better than each of my past marking period grades. I heartened myself to get stronger grades, because since the day I found out in freshman year that there was National Honor Society I was determined to get in. The day of my sister’s graduation
The National Honor Society upholds four pillars of excellence that all members attain; scholarship, service, leadership, and character. While these four ideals are present in all members I believe that I withhold these characteristics, as well as numerous others, which qualifies me as an ideal scholar and member of the National Honor Society. These assets are not adequately portrayed in my application, but are equally important to scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

Moreover, I consistently work to the best of my ability, regardless of merit or acknowledgment.

Being inducted into the National Honors Society is what I have been waiting for. Becoming a member is nothing more than a dream come true, and I appreciate it greatly. If I am to be chosen as a member I know that I will be a positive and dependable participant in society activities. Due to my abilities and past experiences, I can be considered a valuable candidate because I demonstrate the qualities of leadership, service, and character. I do feel that if I am chosen, I will do nothing detract from the prestige and respectability that is associated with the society.
I am honored to be among the exemplary students who are being considered to be accepted to National Honor Society. I learned while researching National Honor Society that it calls upon students with outstanding academics and character. Throughout my life I believe I have demonstrated these qualities along with leadership from my participation in school, teams, and clubs.
Mahatma Gandhi once recited that, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. Service projects help in projecting the giving that people do for the community.
In order to become an effective leader it is necessary for a person to be conscious of mistakes and learning from it. Through experience, humans are more capable to learn as experience allows the individual the ability to permanently change his or her behavior according to the situation of that said experience. Successful leaders have always learned from their mistakes. No matter what can be said about their overwhelming power over their organization. They are still humans that share the conditions of humanity like everybody else and; like everyone else, mistakes will be made by them. The sooner an individual is able to recognize what the fault is and learn from it ...
I am very blessed to be able to attend Oakleaf High School, it is a modern and technologically advanced high school and any outsider who walks in can immediately tell that the teachers really do strive to see us students succeed. In my junior year, a fellow student came into the classroom and handed a few students a rolled up piece of paper that resembled a scroll. It piqued my interest because something like this never happens. She placed the last scroll in her hand on my desk and quickly spoke up, "This one is for you," I opened and read it immediately, it was an invitation to join the National Science Honor Society. I was elated at the chance to join something that meant a lot to me. I had always been interested in the STEM fields, even before they started being

Leadership is something that is heavily prevalent in the workforce and in the world today. Being a leader, in my opinion, takes someone (or a group of people) who is willing and able to lead a few or many people. Not every leader though is successful or leads in a positive way. There definitely exists both good and bad leadership. Many leaders fail while many achieve extraordinary milestones. But everyone, not just leaders, have their pitfalls and rough patches in life. I know that I myself have some weaknesses as a leader, and that is what I want to take some time to reflect on.
