My summer of 2017 was amazing and very enjoyable. My family and I went to many different places during this year’s summer. I had plenty of fun and plenty of rest as well. One of the things I did this summer was go to Ottawa. In Ottawa one of the most memorable thing I did was go watch the light show that happened at the parliament building. Around 10pm there were a lot of people crowded around the parliament building all wanting to watch the light show. Since this year was the sesquicentennial, the light show was about the history of the parliament building. That was a night I couldn’t forget. When I got back to my hotel I watched a movie and went to sleep. The next morning we went to the parliament building again to buy tickets to go in. Unfortunately, there were no more tickets left that was for 12pm. Sadly, without getting a chance to go inside the parliament building, we left for our next destination, which was Montreal. Even though I didn't have a chance to go into the parliament building, I still enjoyed my trip to Ottawa very much. …show more content…
When we arrived at the restaurant at around 5:30pm to eat dinner my dad’s friend’s family had already arrived. Our parents talked with them and while they did, my sister, brother and I went to get our food. The buffet had one of my favourite food. It was almost the best crab legs I had tasted. There were also food such as pizza, sushi, salads, and also dessert. For dessert there were different flavoured ice cream, some cotton candy and many more that I didn’t know about. They were also very delicious. That night I ate and ate until my stomach started to ache. When I came back home I was so happy about the fact that I had had such a delicious
Any person, place or event that has held the honour of being commemorated in Canada has been recognized of an extreme importance to the country. It is impossible to research commemoration in Canada without reading about world war one and two; The great wars are arguably the most commemorated events in History let alone Canada. Understanding this they are not the only events that receive attention from Canada, the government recognizes many other occurrences as, well, anything from Sir John A. Macdonald day on the 11th of January to the anniversary of the statute of Westminster on the 11th of December. I do not believe that any one event can be placed above or below another, and that they all hold a value in whatever way that may be. This Essay
During the last 4 months, I’ve studied a lot about Canadian history and come across many great historical events that have shaped Canadian identity. The two most defining moments between the years 1900 to 2000 were women’s suffrage which was an issue to determine if women should have the right to vote or not. The other defining moment for Canada was Expo 67, which was the most successful worlds fair in history.
I went out in the afternoon to do a few errands. In the middle of my errands I got hungry and was passing by my house so I stopped in to eat a snack. I had half of a giant chocolate chip cookie paired with some coconut
I arrived at my grandma’s house in bewilderment. The smell of flavored pork and freshly made red sauce wafted out of the windows and rose with the sound of laughter. The family was already there: all four of my aunts elbow deep into bowls of chicken, pork, sauces; my cousins and a couple of uncles with rolled up sleeves spreading
It was an exciting day for me and I didn’t even know what was going to happen. My grandpa came to my house and then he told my brother Luke and I that he was going to take us on a fishing trip to Canada with his friend. We were so excited when he told us I told Grandpa, “This will be the best summer vacation ever!” After he told us we went and got gear like fishing poles, rain suites and food. When we got to the house the morning we were leaving, he showed us a picture of the cabin we would be staying in for the week. It took us a while to pack the car we all packed some of the same foods.
The trip began at midnight Wednesday morning. Thirty-two of us got on the bus and left for Montreal. Most of that first morning was us trying to sleep on the bus and in the middle of that afternoon, we arrived in South Boston. The next day, we went of the Freedom Trail and learned some of the history of Boston. Did you know that it is illegal to carry your bathtub around during the daytime in Boston? We got to see where the Boston Tea Party took place as well the the graves of John Hancock and Paul Revere. That afternoon, we walked around Quincy Market where there are many shops and several musicians playing live music. After this we began the rest of our drive to Montreal.
Never, ever, in my life has something tasted so good. We shared a meal that no restaurant could ever top. My father and I became even tighter. From that day on, regular meals tasted like plastic and hot dogs and no better than that. Dangerous dishes became our gourmet good eats.
To my dismay when the waitress arrived with our dessert - she had in hand a vanilla fudge gelato for our son, which I did not even know came with the kid’s meal. She was great about making sure we had excellent service and making us feel like VIP’s within our dining experience. Needless to say my son was all over the gelato, and ate every morsel.
This summer was the best summer ever. On August 8, 2016, I didn’t sleep all night. I left my at 2am, and at 8:00am I left on a plane to what I this is the most magical plane on earth. I went to Puerto Rico.
This 4th of July I went to L.A. with my roommate to visit his family. I had been promising myself that I would go to the Queen Mary in Long Beach for the last three times I was in L.A. and this time I was determined to go. So After I had seen the fireworks at the La Verne high school.
One day my cousin, Ashly and I decided to go to Mankato, Minnesota to get a few things for her son’s upcoming birthday party. We stopped at my cousin’s house before we went shopping and we decided to go out to eat with my cousin Ashly, Candi and her husband and their son, along with two of their friends. I went on January 9th at around 2:30p.m to the China Buffet. I will talk about the food, the service, and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The last thing I will talk about is the overall experience I have had at the restaurant.
Recently, on a spontaneous thrill, I decided to have dinner party for all my closest friends and family. The dinner was served as a three course meal, most of all the food was prepared by yours truly, with the exception of the dessert. Since I've chosen years ago to live a different life style, which is to be a healthier person, the food presented was, for the most part, very health consciense but nonetheless, delicious enough that it met everyone's standards, wants and needs.
When we entered the restaurant, we were handed menus and paper on which to order, written in primarily Chinese. While I have eaten plenty of Chinese food, it is typically from Americanized restaurants. Unlike the restaurants I had previously been to, I did not recognize any of the names of the food being served. Another unique aspect was that none of the food listed a description or ingredients, just a name. Yuchen made the decision to order a few of his favorite dishes for the group to share, as we were struggling to decide on our own.
The first time I ever truly tasted this meal and made connections with my boyfriend Josh’s family My boyfriend’s mother cooked a wonderful meal, as I later found out happened very often, with several dishes; fried chicken, pinto beans, corn bread, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and
The hosts come to our table and escort us to the buffet. The buffet is set up in a different room adjacent to the dining room. A long table is covered with a white table cloth. Large white plates start off the buffet line followed by multiple silver chafers. I pick up my plate and make my way down the line. Apple roasted pork shoulder with pan jus fills the first chafer, with beef tenderloin in the next. As I continue, I scoop garlic whipped potatoes onto my plate along with bacon maple balsamic Brussel sprouts. Continuing with the exceptional staff, bus boys line the room making sure the chafers never run low on their content. I head back to the dining room anxious to begin devouring my
